Housing is a right in People's Korea

Today I ( KFA UK Chairman Dr Dermot Hudson) walked from Charing Cross to Victoria . As I proceeded down the Strand I encounted many homeless people sleeping on the streets just like the ones in the picture . A homeless man asked me the time and I told him .

Afterwards I thought deeply about the situation  and the following came into my mind . In People's Korea under the socialist system based on the Juche idea ,  these people would not be homeless and they would have jobs . Visiting People's Korea many times I have never seen people sleeping on the streets , even when I walked across Pyongyang at night with my guide .

Back in 2017 when our delegation visited the DPRK  we were told that our guide in 2012 Professor Ri Mu Il of KIM IL SUNG university had moved into a brand new flat in Ryomyong Street . We can remember when we visited in 2016 Ryomyong Street was just bare earth .  I also recall how one of my guides in February Mrs Ri( no relation to Professor Ri ) told us how she got married and applied for a new flat for her and her husband . They got a flat after 1 year . No waiting 10 years on the council housing list for a grotty flat in an area with lumpens and druggies  ,no deposits   , no mortages and no sky high housing prices ! Housing in People's Korea is virtually free and it is a right , not a commodity !
