           The Association for the Study of Songun Politics UK,the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea Study ,the UK Korean Friendship Association and the British Solidarity Committee for Peace and Reunification on the Korean Peninsula(BSCPRKP) today issued a statement on the successful test of the Hwasongpho 17 Inter Continental Ballistic Missile (ICBM ) by People's Korea  ;

On March 24th the Hwasongpho 17 ICBM was successfully tested by People's Korea under the guidance of respected Marshal KIM JONG UN , general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea , President of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK ) and supreme commander of the people's revolutionary armed forces of the DPRK . On March 23rd respected Marshal KIM JONG UN gave the order for the test.

                                                     

                

   The Hwasongpho 17 is a new type of ICBM . During the test at Pyongyang International Airport  the Hwasongpo 17 reached  an altitude of 6 248.5 km and flew a distance of 1 090 km . The new ICBM will greatly enhance the DPRK 's war deterrent capablities .  The test of the Hwasongho 17 ICBM was a just and correct measure to cope with the increasing threats of US imperialism and also the unstable international situation which gets worse with passing day . The Hwasongpho 17 ICBM is a mighty deterrent which will stand guard over the DPRK 's independence and the Juche-based socialist system of People's Korea which provides happy lives to the people.

The test of the Hwasongpho 17 ICBM is a clear demonstration of the might of the DPRK's independent , self - reliant defence industry . The test was carried out despite the global pandemic health crisis and also the harsh sanctions of the US and other imperialists . What the Hwasongpho 17 ICBM test shows is that the sanctions of the imperialists cannot stop or impede the DPRK's independent defence industry . 

This historic event ,the test of the Hwasongpho 17 ICBM , is  a powerful manifestation of the vitality and correctness of the Juche Idea and the Songun idea . The test defiedthe US and other imperialists who tried to stop the DPRK's independent self defensive development . Moreover it shows that the DPRK has no illusions about US imperialism  but indeed correctly recognises 'inevitability of the long-standing confrontation with the U.S. imperialists' . It is also a slap in the face to those who wanted the DPRK to abandon independence , anti-imperialism and Juche or to  opt for  'reform ' and 'opening up'.

We salute and congratulate People's Korea on its latest victory .
