President Kim Il Sung's Feats for Development of World Revolutionary Parties

Pyongyang, October 21 (KCNA) -- President Kim Il Sung in his lifetime made indefatigable efforts for the unity and development of revolutionary parties of the world under the banner of independence.

Validity and vitality of the independent line set forth by him were fully displayed in the 1950s and 1960s when the modern revisionists' moves became ever more blatant.

The great-power chauvinistic practice of the modern revisionists brought about the differences among parties in socialist countries and huge harmful consequences to their unity and cohesion.

At that time, the President clarified again the independent and principled foreign policy of the Workers' Party of Korea at its 3rd Congress and on other occasions.

From 1956 to 1958, he met many party and government leaders of socialist countries and expounded the problems arising in preventing the harmful effects of revisionism and strengthening the unity and cohesion among communist and workers' parties in different countries as well as the unity of the international communist movement.

And he dispatched a delegation to the meeting of representatives of communist and workers' parties of different countries held in Juche 49 (1960) to make it an important occasion in preventing the open division of socialist countries and communist and workers' parties and adopting a revolutionary statement.

The President also gave unsparing support and encouragement to the progressive forces and political parties in Asia, Africa and Latin America struggling for freedom, independence and new life.

When socialism was collapsed in various countries, he rallied the revolutionary parties closely around the banner of independence to tide over the crisis of frustration and division brought to the world movement of independence.

From 1990 to 1994, the last year of his life, he met the chairman of the Communists Labor Party of Sweden, the delegation of the March 26 Movement of Uruguay and many other leaders and delegations of political parties to give vital instructions for adhering to the principle of independence and struggling in firm unity under it.

Indeed, his energetic activities for the strengthening of world revolutionary parties served as a great contribution to further developing the overall world revolution. -0-
