The ,British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea (BGSJ) and the Korean Friendship Association of the UK ( KFA UK)  today issued a joint statement in supporting the press statement  Institute for Disarmament and Peace of the Foreign Ministry of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) that was titled 'It is our inevitable option to further accelerate the self-defensive efforts to ensure the security interests of the country from the regional security environment getting instable day after day' that was issued on Monday 24th of March : 

The Institute for Disarmament and Peace of the Foreign Ministry of the DPRK Foreign Ministry issued a detailed statement concerning the recent "Freedom Shield 2025 " , a war exercise directed at the DPRK , that was held from the 10th of March to the 20th of March . The purpose of the press statement is "to inform the international community of how dangerous and reckless military provocation the large-scale war exercises Freedom Shield staged by the U.S. and the ROK under the pretext of "defensive" and "annual" rehearsal are and why the DPRK's efforts to deter the military moves of the enemy states are just"

The "Freedom Shield " war exercise was large in scale and involved not only the US and south Korea but forces from members of the so-called "UN Command " in south Korea .

The press statement of the  Institute for Disarmament and Peace of the  DPRK Foreign Ministry reveals that in fact "Freedom Shield " did not just start on the 10th of March but were actually ongoing from the start of the year . In January air strike drills took place in south Korea . There were also aerial drills involving B1B bombers .

The war drills were completely aggressive in intent . They even included exercises to destroy 'secret underground tunnels " and to remove the DPRK's nuclear weapons . Some 13 pro -US countries of the UN Command in south Korea were involved . This made "Freedom Shield " a multi-national war exercise . The US is trying to assemble another so-called "coalition of the willing " to attack the DPRK.

The statement clarifies that the DPRK will upgrade its capabilities for counter-action  and increase its deterrence . We support the correct choice of the DPRK and its right to self-defence .
