Report of the 1st Reading/Study Session of the book “ Understanding Korea Volume 9 “Human Rights “ 15.03.2025 .



The Korean Friendship Association of the UK(KFA UK) and British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea organised a reading and study session of the booklet “Understanding Korea -Volume 9 Human Rights “ , which took place on 15.03.2025 at 1500 hours GMT online . Participating were members of KFA UK and the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea from London , West of England and other parts of the UK as well a guests from KFA Andalusia (Spain ) , KFA Germany , KFA Greece , the People’s Korea Initiative of Poland and KFA members from the USA .


Sections 1 to 21 of the book “Understanding Korea  9 -Human Rights “https://korea-dpr.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/UNDERSTANDING-KOREA-9-HUMAN-RIGHTS.pdf was  read out by KFA UK Chairman Dr Dermot Hudson and KFA UK Organisation Secretary Alan Bolon .


It was explained that the DPRK has a unique , Juche-oriented view of human rights which considers national independence to be most important . The DPRK took measures to abolish colonial laws of Japanese imperialism and also to ensure human rights even under wartime .


It was pointed out that even in the fierce Fatherland Liberation War , in the DPRK no one starved to death or was homeless.


Questions and discussion followed . Participants pointed out that the USA is the worst human rights violator which has systemic racism .


A participant said “In the DPRK, human rights are equal to freedom from capitalist oppression—not freedom to exploit others. The DPRK already smashed  formal bourgeois rights . The DPRK’s human rights are practical solutions of the material conditions for real freedom—freedom from hunger, homelessness, and capitalist exploitation”
