Report of European Regional Seminar ‘ 74 Years of Progress and Prosperity Under the Banner of the Juche Idea ‘ 03.09.2022
The Korean Friendship Association of the UK (KFA UK ) hosted the European Regional Seminar for the 74 Anniversary for the foundation of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea , titled ‘74 years of Progress and Prosperity Under the Banner of the Juche Idea .The inaugural meeting was held on the 3rd of September 2022 at 1500 hours BST .
Participating were officials and members of the Korean Friendship Association (KFA) as well different friendship and solidarity organisations from the following countries; Austria , Albania, Belarus , Belgium , Bulgaria ,Finland. Germany , Greece , Italy , Nepal , Pakistan , Spain , Serbia, Sweden and the UK . Speeches were also received from Bangladesh , Denmark , Poland , France , Romania and KFA UK West of England branch .
Congratulatory messages were received from the Organising Committee for the International Festival In Praise of the Great Persons of Mt Paektu , the Korean -Europe Cultural Promotion Agency , Korea Asia -Pacific Exchange , the Asia Pacific Regional Committee for the Peace Reunification of Korea, the Nepal -Korea Friendship Association and Communist Party of Nepal Marxist -Leninist , International Arab Committee for Solidarity and Friendship with the Korean People,Congo -Korea Friendship and Solidarity Association and Latin American and Caribbean Committee for the Reunification of Korea .
From the UK , KFA UK members from London ,Staffordshire , South of England and Glasgow took part .
The head of the Sweden-Korea Friendship Association in his keynote report explained that “The founding of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea on the 9th of September 1948, was an extraordinary event in the country’s history, when the masses of the Korean people, headed by the great leader Kim Il Sung, for the first time in the country's 5,000-year history founded their own state to secure Korea’s independent existence and ensure their security and prosperity. That splendid victory was the result of decades of arduous struggle against Japanese colonialism and U.S. imperialism for national unity and sovereignty
Comrade Alejandro Cao De Benos KFA President said that “We warmly congratulate the Anniversary of the founding of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
One more year we celebrate the construction of the most worthy and powerful state in the world, created since the victory in the liberation by our Eternal President KIM IL SUNG.
Despite the sanctions and threats from the enemy, the socialist homeland is advancing by leaps and bounds towards the achievement of an independent and self-sufficient nation. From Samjiyon to Kaesong, the constructive spirit to turn the country into a paradise and defeat all difficulties is unstoppable.”.

KFA UK Chairman Dr Dermot Hudson stressed that “Right from the days of its foundation in 1948 the DPRK has been guided by the Juche idea in all activities .The guiding principles of the Juche idea ; Juche in ideology , political independence , self-sufficiency in the economy and self-reliance in defence have been thoroughly applied in the course of building the DPRK .The DPRK does not have foreign troops stationed on its soil and it is not a member of the IMF, World Bank , WEF ,WTO or APEC . All the DPRK’s policies are totally independent and framed to meet the interests of the Korean people rather than outside forces. The DPRK is known to friends and foes as the most independent country in the world”
The head of Staffordshire KFA UK branch pointed out that “Politics in the DPRK are not corrupted by the special interests of plutocratic elites but are an ultimate example of genuine democracy in action.
In a space of seventy four years, the DPRK has gained centuries' worth of accomplishments, to become an advanced industrial-agricultural state’
The representative of KFA Germany drew attention to the DPRK’s correct environmental policy and efforts for recycling as well as saying that “The DPRK is invincible and will continue it´s socialist way. The DPRK is the oldest still existing socialist state on earth.”
The representative of KFA Finland said that “. Despite the sanctions placed by Western capitalists and imperialists, The Democratic People's Republic Of Korea is still a thriving nation thanks to the great Juche idea.’
KFA Greece in their deliberation spoke about the DPRK’s emphasis on culture and how it has developed its culture and concluded that “Let us defend the DPRK and safeguard its Juche philosophy, which provided the Korean People with the incentive to create an astoundingly rich society, all without the devastating flaws of the barbaric and inhumane capitalist system”
The representative of KFA Spain elaborated that the DPRK is “a beacon of hope for the progressive peoples of the world, and in internationalist solidarity we are humbly moved to defend it by any means necessary”
KFA Italy in their contribution said that “. Thanks to the seasoned leadership of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the WPK, socialist Korea has become a full-fledged nuclear power which no enemy dares to attack, an all-round independent and sovereign country rising in the East and indicating to all the world progressive people the road to follow for their emancipation and liberation”
The head of the Pakistan -Korea Friendship Association expressed his hope “that the Korean people will surely by crowned with final victory as they are guided by the Respected Supreme Leader Marshal KIM JONG UN”
A representative of the Belgium -Korea Friendship Association stressed that the DPRK’s wishes for peaceful reunification and has put forward realistic policies for reunification.
A speech from Dr M Jahanghir Khan of the Bangladesh Songun Politics Study Group was read out .
A representative of KFA Serbia brought greetings to the meeting . Representatives of KFA Austria and KFA UK South of England briefly addressed the meeting .
A letter to respected Marshal KIM JONG UN ,president of State Affairs of the DPRK was adopted .
Dr Hudson ,KFA UK Chairman said that the meeting had been successful and thanked everyone for attending .
The meeting concluded with the music “We Advance Under the Banner of Self-Reliance” .
Meeting ended at 17.05 hours BST
