17th of September Juche 111 (2022)

The Association For the Study of Songun Politics UK (ASSPUK) , the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea, the  Korean Friendship Association of the UK  KFA  UK )  ,and the British Solidarity Committee for Peace and Reunification in Korea (BSCPRKP) issued a joint statement  in regard to the responsibility of Japan for nullifying the DPRK-Japan -Pyongyang Declaration ;

20 years ago on the 17th of September 2002 , the DPRK and Japan agreed on a joint declaration in Pyongyang , DPRK   which was supposed to herald a new era in DPRK-Japan relations and wipe the slate clean .However , 20 years later the declaration has not been implemented by the Japanese side and is to all intents and purposes  , a dead letter, basically null and void

As pointed out in the  press statement of Song Il Ho, Ambassador of the Foreign Ministry of the DPRK, the DPRK did everything to implement the declaration but Japan ignored the declaration by raising irrelevant issues and increasing its military build up and aggressive moves against the DPRK .

Japan has also imposed sanctions on the DPRK contrary to the letter and spirit of the declaration . It also repressed the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (CHONGRYON ) and was(and is ) racist towards Korean residents in Japan .

Japan is responsible for the declaration becoming a meaningless piece of paper . Japan is stuck in a mould of conservatism and extreme national chauvinism  and cannot move forward . As Song Il Ho, Ambassador of the Foreign Ministry of the DPRK says “The Japanese government can never escape from its responsibility for perfidious acts towards the Declaration

We denounce Japan for its disgusting and hostile anti-DPRK attitude !
