KCNA Commentary on Japan's Reckless Military Maneuvers

Pyongyang, June 24 (KCNA) -- Shortly ago, the Japanese government announced its intention to increase the amount of missiles and ammunition under the pretext of continuously bolstering up the combat efficiency of the "Self-Defense Forces".

The increase of the amount of missiles and ammunition planned by Japan can not be construed as a self-defensive measure.

Japan is a war criminal state that imposed untold miseries and sufferings on mankind in the last century and now, a peace wrecker preoccupied with the ambition for reinvasion.

Moreover, it declared that in case "crisis of existence" occurs in contingency of Taiwan, it would act according to the "security legislation". The draft 2022 defense white paper stipulated that Japan will interfere in the situation on the Straits of Taiwan.

This vividly shows Japan's scheme to make the Taiwanese issue a good excuse for realizing its ambition for reinvasion.

Recently, Japan, together with foreign forces, has staged full-scale military exercises aimed at containing China on the South Sea of China.

The Japan prime minister officially communicated his intention to stir up the atmosphere for constitution revision to a meeting sponsored by a "dietmen's union for the enactment of a new constitution" consisting of supra-partisan lawmakers. Such behavior revealed the scheme to turn the SDF into the war forces for aggression, free from the principle of "exclusive defence", and it is by no means unrelated to the prevailing situation.

The facts go to prove that all the moves of Japan are aimed at realizing its ambition for reinvasion.

It is not hard to guess why Japan is going to possess much more ammunition. Japan regards the unlimited stockpiling of missiles and ammunition as a way for effectively coping with a prolonged war it may encounter in the course of reinvasion.

Japan's stockpiling of ammunition is nothing but a reckless military act aimed to accelerate the preparations for overseas aggression.

The international community is now keenly watching Japan's moves for arms buildup.

If the Japanese reactionaries persist in the moves for turning Japan into a military power, instead of drawing a lesson from its past defeat, they will be doomed to miserable ruin. -0-
