Greetings to all our friends and comrades on the 75th anniversary of the Workers'Party of Korea. The WPK arose from humble beginnings with a few activists centred around Kim IL Sung in October 1926. Kim IL Sung overcame factionalism and sectarianism during the early years of the Korean Communist Movement. Kim IL Sung discovered the profound yet fundamental truth that no revolution, that no revolutionary party or movement is possible without the participation of the popular masses. That is the essence of the Juche Idea which Kim IL Sung announced at the Kalun Meeting in June 1930. Creativity and innovation have been the hallmarks of the Korean Revolution. Kim IL Sung established the party branches first and built up the Korean Peoples Revolutionary Army before proclaiming the party founding. The party was announced to the world on October 10th, 1945, after the liberation of Korea. Kim IL Sung was able to combine the class and mass lines extremely skillfully, so as to broaden the appeal of the Korean revolutionary forces, the Communist Party of North Korea and the New Democratic Party merged into the Workers' Party of Korea.
Kim Jong IL when he started work at the Central Committee of the WPK on June 19th, 1964 began the process of the consolidation of the Workers' Party of Korea as the party of Juche. Setting up the monolithic ideological system with the WPK was the priority for Kim Jong IL. Kim Jong IL had the ambitious goal of modelling the whole society on the Juche Idea in February 1974. Kim Jong IL became the General Secretary of the WPK in October 1997 due to his record of work in party building.
The revolutionary cause of the WPK has been inherited by Kim Jong Un. Kim Jong Un instructed the Workers' Party of Korea to imbue itself and the rest of society with the ideology of Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism. At the 7th Congress of the WPK, Kim Jong Un unveiled a programme of building the DPRK into the great and prosperous socialist power which will be the envy of the world. The strategic line was advanced of carrying on economic construction and building up the nuclear forces while maintaining self-reliance. In the years 2019 and 2020, many plenary meetings of the Central Committee of the WPK have been held at the initiative of Kim Jong Un. The WPK has dealt with successfully the threats of Covid 19 and flood damage. The 8th Congress of the WPK is going to be convened in January 2021 with a set of tasks placed before it.
Kim Jong Un has provided clear and decisive leadership to the WPK making the party into a militant political organisation of Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism. It can be regarded in the historical perspective, that the Workers' Party of Korea is the most durable and successful Communist Party in history!
