About Vinalon

                                                           Some people have asked about Juche vinalon .  Vinalon is an artificial  fibre produced in the DPRK using limestone . It was invented by Dr Li Sung Gi (1905 -1996) a south Korean scientist who defected to the DPRK . Dr Li discovered the process of making fibre from limestone but was denied the chance to develop his invention by the south Korean puppets and US imperialists. When he went over to the DPRK , President Kim Il Sung provided him with all kinds of facilities . Later the February 8th Vinalon Complex was constructed in Hamhung on the coast of the DPRK. The complex was later modernised and expanded .
 Vinalon means that the DPRK does not need to grow cotton or import it for the production of clothes . Vinalon symbolises the self-reliant independent national economy of the DPRK.
