Along with the shift in generation, there are a lot of Korean people who didn't see the great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung in his lifetime. Growing stronger, however, are their absolute reverence and yearning for him.

It is because the Korean people are enjoying a happy life today thanks to his exploits and favour.

Ordinary Working People Become Owners of New Houses

It was a simple desire of the Korean people from olden times to live happily in a small cottage.

To realize their dream and wish, Comrade Kim Il Sung made painstaking efforts all his life.

In order to provide the people who tided over severe trials of the war in the 1950s with houses as early as possible, he visited construction sites in the capital city again and again. He discussed plans for construction with builders and encouraged them. As a result, over 20,000 flats could be built in the capital city with materials, funds and manpower equivalent to those for 7,000 flats in 1958, five years after the end of the war.

And in the 1970s he led the construction of a rural village to open a new history of building a socialist Utopia.

His lifelong desire has come true on this land.

Almost 60,000 flats have been built in the capital city over the past five years, including those in Songhwa, Rimhung and Hwasong streets and over 32,000 rural houses were built last year alone.

Moreover, modern terraced residential district appeared at the site of Comrade Kim Il Sung's mansion on the bank of the River Pothong in the capital city of Pyongyang, which is called Kyongnu-dong.

Ri Sang Suk living at the People's Neighbourhood Unit No. 12, Kyongnu-dong of the Central District, said her longing for Comrade Kim Il Sung gets more ardent as she enjoys a greater happiness, and continued:

"Our happiness today is unthinkable apart from the efforts of the great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung.

Living in this house, I always tell my children not to forget his love generation after generation."

Large-Scale Greenhouse Farms Built across the Country

The Jangchon Vegetable Farm in Sadong District of Pyongyang has tens of year-long history of greenhouse vegetable farming.

The great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung gave field guidance to the farm on 16 occasions. On April 25, 1982 he looked round the new greenhouse built at the farm.

Wiping the sweat with his handkerchief in the hot greenhouse, he stressed the need to build more greenhouses in the future so as to provide the capital citizens with a lot of vegetables even in cold winter.

In the 2010s the farm was wonderfully built into a model unit of greenhouse vegetable production amid the state concern.

On the basis of the experience of the farm, the Jungphyong Greenhouse Farm was built in 2019, the Ryonpho Greenhouse Farm in 2022, the Kangdong Combined Greenhouse Farm in 2024 and the Sinuiju Combined Greenhouse Farm in 2026 in succession.

Comrade Kim Il Sung's noble intention to provide the people with fresh vegetables all the year round is being realized.

A Story about Comrade Kim Il Sung at a Family

A family at the People's Neighbourhood Unit No. 28 in Tangsang-dong No. 2, Mangyongdae District of Pyongyang, has five photographs catching the eyes of visitors.

They are the photos of the great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung taken with children in stage costumes.

Ri Yon Ok said her second daughter was popular as an electronic instrument player and her son as a percussionist in their childhood and they can be found in the photographs, and continued:

"Every family was indebted to the great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung. So I tell my children to remember him all the time and work hard wherever they are and whatever they do."

Ri Yon Ok brought up three children, who finished the university courses without paying a penny. Her two sons-in-law and daughter-in-law graduated from universities and her grandchildren are now studying at universities.

Second daughter Jong Hye Gyong living with her mother said she took part in performances given in the presence of Comrade Kim Il Sung together with her younger brother including the New Year performance, had pictures taken with him and participated in a performance abroad as a member of the art troupe of schoolchildren.

Looking back upon the fact that her photo was printed on foreign publications and those days when she had received a lot of gifts from Comrade Kim Il Sung, she said with excitement that they were really happy days.

"At that time I was so young that I didn't know well what great happiness and honour I had. Growing old, however, I keenly feel it.

So I often tell my daughter the story about the photographs hanging on the wall and say that she should hand down the favour of the great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung to posterity."

Longing for Comrade Kim Il Sung has been kept deep in the heart of the 15-year-old girl who had never met him.

"Looking at the pictures of my mother and her brother taken in the presence of the great leader Generalissimo Kim Il Sung, I deeply feel how much he loved the children.

My maternal grandmother and mother always tell me to always remember Generalissimo Kim Il Sung."

The five photographs taken in the presence of Comrade Kim Il Sung will be kept as the greatest pride of this family generation after generation.
