The Association For the Study of Songun Politics UK (ASSPUK),the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea (BGSJI), the Korean Friendship Association of the UK( KFA UK) and British Solidarity Committee for Peace and Reunification (BSCPRKP) today issued a joint statement supporting the statement of the spokesman of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea(DPRK) Foreign Ministry made on Saturday 2nd of December ;
The launch of the DPRK military reconnaissance satellite Malligyong -1 is the absolute independent and sovereign right of the DPRK .it is also a matter of improving the DPRK's self-defensive capabilities so as to increase its deterrence against the US imperialists and other threats. However the US and other countries such as Australia ,south Korea and Japan have taken a high-handed attitude and have imposed unilateral sanctions against the DPRK.
It is very wrong to impose sanctions on the DPRK simply because it has exercised its legitimate right to space exploration and to self-defence .As it is stated by the DPRK Foreign Ministry " The unilateral and illegal sanctions of the U.S. seriously violating the UN Charter with sovereign equality, non-interference in internal affairs and respect for the right to self-determination as its core and other principles of international law are the main factors undermining the international order based on equity and multilateralism." The sanctions against the DPRK are illegal and have no validity under international law.
The statement of the spokesman of the DPRK Foreign Ministry clarifies that the DPRK will take steps to defend it interests by applying counter-measures to different individuals ,organisation of the US and it lackeys who are responsible for the implementation of sanctions against the DPRK . We applaud that measure .It is good that the DPRK is hitting back . We think it would be good if there was a big campaign by supporters and friends of the DPRK to boycott US goods !
