Answers of Alan Bolon KFA UK Organisation Secretary and head of KFA UK West of England to the 3rd Joint Songun Juche Q and A Session - 30th November Juche 112

Question 1. Lately I have read an article about Songbun Policy (not Songun but Songbun 성분). In the western media it is of course mentioned quite negative, but to me it seems as an effective Anti-Revisionist Tool. Could you maybe explain this policy?

Answer: Songbun is an expression created by the anti - DPRK pro - western media as one of the elements of chaos and disinformation. In fact, there is no such thing as SONGBUN and the name was borrowed to mislead from the Songun policy which we all know. It is neither an anti - revisionist tool nor anything that was created in DPRK. According to lies created by Western media in their disinformation propaganda, SONGBUN is a kind of caste system in DPRK society. The word: 'Songbun' does not appear anywhere in the works of President KIM IL SUNG, Chairman KIM JONG IL or Marshal KIM JONG UN. In actual fact President KIM IL SUNG strongly believes against discriminating against people on the basis of family background. Such as caste system would go against the basic idea of the socialist system in the DPRK and would be contrary to the people - centered policy.

Question 3. The last question I asked to one of the delegates from the Anti - imperialist Front in South Korea at the last Communism Congress in Berlin, but out of security reasons he was not able to answer the question. I asked him to which extend Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism has to be considered a universal philosophy that can be applied to the communist movement worldwide. ( As far as I am concerned Kimilsungism - Kimjongilism is the greatest philosophy in the history of human thought, and not a mere application of Marxism - Leninism to Korea ). Therefore it would be vital to propagate it in the communist movement.

Answer: Kimilsungism - Kimjongilism comes from Juche philosophy and has connections with Songun politics as well.

 Kimilsungism - Kimjongilism in my opinion, is the result of the dialectical development of Juche philosophy in the conditions and under the influence of the development and historical needs of the DPRK.

Kimilsungism - Kimjongilism is not a simple application of Marxism - Leninism to the conditions of the DPRK, just as the Juche philosophy is not too, because both  Kimilsungism - Kimjongilism and Juche have original and unique features which, in accordance with the general principles of Marxism - Leninism, are new features developed in Korean conditions.

To the question whether Kimilsungism - Kimjongilism has a universal features and could be considered a universal philosophy, that can be applied to the communist movement worldwide, and it would be vital to propagate it in the communist movement, in my opinion not entirely, as his experiences are based on practice in the conditions of DPRK, so as for example not in all the countries in the process of build socialism the army would be suitable as main force of revolution, as it is in DPRK, because of many factors ( historical, security and so on ... ), but some features of this revolutionary theory and Juche philosophy can be successfully applied in the revolutionary and anti - imperialist struggle.

To wider explain what is Kimilsungism - Kimjongilism I am going to read a few passages of book 'Kimilsungism. Theory and Practice' by Muhammad al Missuri published in 1978 by Foreign Languages Publishing House:

'A great idea that represents the times gives scientific fic answers to all theoretical and practical questions arising in the historical development of the times. By that means, it dynamically promotes the forward movement of the times and leads the people's   revolutionary struggle to victory.

Ever since their appearance on the arena of history, the masses of the people have waged ceaseless struggles to free themselves from oppression, take power in their hands and lead a really happy, creative and dignified life, while seeking after a guiding ideology which would serve them as a compass for struggle.

When Marx put up the famous slogan "Workers of the whole world, unite!" in "Manifesto of the Communist Party" in the mid-19th century, it drew deep attention of the working class of the world, which found in it the guiding idea it had sought for.

For the first time in history, Marxism discovered the law governing the movement of capitalism, provided a scientific basis for the revolutionary theory of the working class and opened up a bright vista for the working class, making it possible to lead its liberation struggle in the right direction. In this, great credit goes to Marx, the world-famous thinker.

Later, Lenin, Marx's successor, creatively developed the principles of Marxism to suit the requirements of the changed era and the objective conditions of Russia.

Thus emerged Leninism, the revolutionary thought of the working class in the period of monopoly capitalism, imperialism, which became the trend of those times'

'As can be seen, Marxism-Leninism just reflected the historical features of those days and their requirements and was based on the conditions of that time.

This age, however, is characterized as a new age different from the time when Marxism-Leninism emerged.

'Kimilsungism, however, embraces all the theoreti- cal and practical problems arising in the revolutionary struggles of all stages and all domains of the revolu- tion and construction, not in a certain definite stage of the revolution or a few domains of the revolution and construction. That is why many students of Kimilsungism call it an encyclopedic revolutionary theory.

This is the very distinguished historic contribution made by Kimilsungism in thoroughly overcoming the historical limitations of the former revolutionary the theories and evolving them onto a new higher stage.

I think it would cost several volumes of books to deal with all the contents of the revolutionary theory of Kimilsungism. So I would like to outline here only a few aspects of the revolutionary theory of Kimilsungism.

In the revolutionary theory of Kimilsungism, a very important place is assumed by the theory on the anti- imperialist, anti - feudal, democratic revolution.

Today there are not many developed capitalist countries on the globe.

On the contrary, the majority of the countries are underdeveloped countries which were colonies or semi-colonies in the past or are still dependencies.

The question of revolution in most of the countries of the world, including the Arab countries of the third world, which were freed from colonialist oppression

Kimilsungism holds a distinguished place in the history of the development of human thought, because it is a revolutionary idea that originated as a reflection of the demand of the present day and its system and contents are new and original.'

'Through the study of the theories of great Kimilsungism and the admiring experiences gained by the Korean people in the course of their application, we can form a conclusion that they are of particular significance in the development of human thoughts at the present times.

What does the superiority of Kimilsungism - Kimjongilism on the preceding revolutionary theories is

synthesized in and could be used in the world communist movement? There are:

1) The main role of man in revolution and construction;

2) The definition of independence, creativity and consciousness as fundamental attributes of

the social being who autonomously shape its destiny;

3) The role of the leader in the revolutionary process and socialist construction;

4) The new definition of the national question and the essence and meaning of nationalism;

5) The reconditioning on scientifically and concrete tracks of dialectical materialism and the

principle of unity and struggle of opposites;

6) The new, creative definition on a practical base of the issue of the leading class of revolution and the criterion of class belonging;

7) Independence as a staple of every action of the communist party, both on internal and

external fronts;

8) The question of succession: the leader must not confine himself to inherit the ideological

legacy of his predecessor, but also and primarily acquire his moral traits and virtues;

9) Communists lead the revolution basing themselves on their own forces and under their own responsibility and starting from the specifically traits of the context in which they work, not on order of someone else.

There is five phases through which the communist thought got: Marxism (1848 - 1917), Leninism ( 1917 - 1966 ), Maoism ( 1966  - 1976 ), Kimilsungism ( 1976 - 2012 ) and Kimilsungism - Kimjongilism ( since 2012 ) until now. It is important to stressed also, that Juche idea was developed since 1930  separately of Marxism - Leninism and on base of Juche idea which essence is just Juche idea as given basis to Kimilsungism - Kimjongilism later on. I believe, that recent years have opened a new era in communist theory and thought, which is Internationalist Universalism, combining all progress and revolutionary trends with Songun politics and Juche philosophy, a direction that is the guiding thought of the communist party IRCP, of which I am the founder, but this is a topic for a separate discussion as it is not related to the subject we talk today.
