Army-People Meeting Held in Pyongyang

Pyongyang, September 6 (KCNA) -- A Pyongyang city army-people rally took place at Kim Il Sung Square Wednesday to celebrate the successful ICBM-ready H-bomb test conducted under the strategic plan of the Workers' Party of Korea for bolstering the nuclear force.

Attending it were Kim Yong Nam, Hwang Pyong So, Pak Pong Ju, Choe Ryong Hae and other senior party, state and army officials, the chairman of a friendly party, contributors to the successful ICBM-ready H-bomb test, officials of party and armed forces organs, ministries and national institutions, men and officers of the Korean People's Army and the Korean People's Internal Security Forces and officials of institutions at all levels and industrial establishments in the city of Pyongyang.

Congratulatory speeches were made by Pak Pong Ju, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, vice-chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and premier of the Cabinet; Choe Thae Bok, member of the Political Bureau of the C.C., WPK and vice-chairman of the C.C., WPK; Air Force General O Kum Chol, vice-chief of the General Staff of the KPA; and Jon Yong Nam, first secretary of the C.C., Kimilsungist-Kimjongilist Youth League.

The speakers stressed that the successful test in super-powerful thermonuclear weapon serves as a gift to President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il and an auspicious national event that gave great courage and strength to the Korean army and people.

They said it is thanks to the energetic guidance and tireless devotion and efforts of respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un that the DPRK could emerge a nuclear weapons state of Juche, a world military power.

The unprecedented feats for building the nuclear force performed by him, who has won victories through successive strong attacks on the U.S. styling itself the "only superpower" and its vassal forces before they come to their senses, will shine forever along with the victorious advance of the Korean revolution, they said.

The invincible revolutionary Paektusan army will put an end to the destiny of the gangster-like U.S. imperialists through the most merciless and strongest preemptive strikes if they and the hordes of traitors finally ignite a war, faulting the entirely just self-defensive measures of the DPRK for bolstering its nuclear deterrent, they stressed.

Fireworks were displayed in the sky above Pyongyang at the end of the meeting. -0-
