  London 8th June Juche 112(2023)
 The Association for the Study of Songun Politics UK(ASSPUK), the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea (BGSJI) , the  Korean Friendship Association of the UK  ( KFA UK ) and the British Solidarity Committee for Peace and Reunification on the Korean Peninsula(BSCPRKP)issued the following joint statement today issued a joint statement in support of the press statement of the spokesperson for the Maritime Administration of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK);

On the 8th of June, a spokesperson of the DPRK Maritime Administration issued a press statement concerning the fact that the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) of the UN intends to issue a statement of denunciation if the DPRK launches a satellite without prior notice.

The stance of the IMO betrays its double standards as well as its hostility to People's Korea which has long been a member of the IMO and has always faithfully discharged its obligations and responsibilities as a member including prior notification of satellite launches.

Even though the DPRK notified the IMO and the Maritime Safety Agency of Japan prior to the satellite launch, the IMO still denounced the DPRK's satellite launch adopting a resolution to that effect .

Really it is not the business and place of the IMO to approve or disapprove of satellite launches by member states. As the spokesperson of the DPRK Maritime Administration points out "IMO is just a professional UN organization with a mission to promote the technical cooperation among UN member states in the international maritime security field. It is by no means an affiliated body for supervising the implementation of the UNSC resolutions."

We strongly denounce the IMO for its unfair anti-DPRK hostile attitude .
