The Korean Friendship Association of the UK (KFA UK ) picketed the headquarters of the British Broadcasting Corporation in Portland Place , London at 1500 hours BST on the 7th of May . Participating in the picket were members of KFA UK as well as the general secretary of and a political bureau member of the New Communist Party also members of the Labour Party and UNITE the Union plus anti-imperialist and communist activists .
Messages of support from the picket were received from a KFA UK member in Glasgow , Scotland , from a supporter of the DPRK in Poland and a message from the head of the International Central Committee for Songun Study .
The message from the KFA UK member in Glasgow read as follows : “This picket of the British Brainwashing Corporation is a very worthy action in support of peoples Korea - a country under continual economic attack from sanctions and under continual ideological attack by the media representatives of world imperialism of which the BBC is part of. This tax-payer funded entity has lied and distorted the truth for decades. It lied about the Iraq war, it lied about imperialism’s attack on Yugoslavia, it lied about Syria’s war against imperialist backed terrorists, it is lying about the situation in Ukraine. They cannot be trusted…simple as that. I believe their continual demonisation of peoples Korea in part comes from their fear. Fear that such a country can show the working people there is another world. A better world than this one.”
The message from the President of the International Central Committee for Songun Study and head of the Bangladesh Songun Politics Study Group read in part “We appreciate picketing and online meeting to protest the falsehood news against DPRK.
We really proud of Dr. Dermot Hudson, Secretary General of ICCSS for his outstanding truth loving protest against falsehood of so called world media. We have an urgent question to the BBC, What is their mission? Is it propaganda against the DPRK? If it is news that should have
peoples cause, in DPRK and its society there are no beggars, homelessness, illiteracy and no people without free medical care. These root level Human Rights and positions they are enjoyed very honestly”
Dr Dermot Hudson Chairman of KFA UK and Chairman of the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea addressed the picket saying “The BBC, which is known to progressive people as the British Brainwashing Corporation , has consistently lied about the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea(DPRK). Its coverage of the DPRK is one sided and exaggerated to say the least. On several occasions BBC reporters have used tricks and subterfuges to enter the DPRK .
The BBC has taken upon itself the role of a shock brigade in the propaganda war against People’s Korea.The BBC is a state broadcaster closely linked to British imperialism and US imperialism .It’s staff are vetted ,so that no one with pro DPRK , pro socialist views can work for the BBC or indeed anyone to the Left of Genghis Khan , in the BBC it is very much ‘No lefties here John ‘ . The BBC promotes the ideology of market totalitarianism and liberal fascism .
What is disgusting is that not only does the BBC lie about People’s Korea but it expects us to pay for its lies in the form of the BBC licence fee” and concluded “We, the Korean Friendship Association of the UK, believe in defending People’s Korea with No Ifs or Buts .
We believe the BBC should stop lying about the DPRK and instead produce fair, accurate and objective material about People’s Korea.

Long live People’s Korea !
Long live Juche !
Picketers chanted ‘ Down with the British Brainwashing Corporation! ‘ and ‘Defend People’s Korea! ‘.
Dr Hudson also read out a short statement exposing the BBC’s lies about human rights in the DPRK .
DPRK flags were raised as well as KFA UK banner and placards denouncing the BBC . Leaflets were given out .
Picket concluded at 16.15 hours ( due to threat of bad weather )
