KCNA Reveals True Picture of Japan behind Its Call for "Dialogue" and "Human Rights"

Pyongyang, July 4 (KCNA) -- The Japanese reactionaries still remain unchanged in their hostility toward the DPRK despite the flow of time.

On June 28, the Japanese customs authorities ransacked bags of students of Kobe Korea High School on their way back after visiting the DPRK and seized not only souvenirs from their families and relatives in the homeland but also sportswear emblazoned with letter "Korea" and the national flag of the DPRK and even daily necessities.

The things possessed by the students did not come under the items for sanctions unreasonably imposed on the DPRK by the Japanese government and, therefore, there was no reason whatsoever for the Japanese customs authorities to keep students from going home beyond midnight and seize their possessions.

The unreasonable persecution is a revelation of hysteric fit of those who are left alone, being marginalized by the strong trend of the times toward peace in the Korean peninsula and the world. It is an intolerable barbarous act against humanity in wanton violation of human rights of Koreans in Japan, humanitarianism and international law.

Throughout history, the Japanese reactionaries have regarded the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) as the first target of hostile policy toward the DPRK and have been involved in a number of conspiratorial and persecution acts. But it is the first time for them to seize even the belongings of Korean students in Japan and lynch even the children's mind.

This has brought to light the true picture of craftiness and moral vulgarity of Japan, the dirtiest human rights abuser in the world violating the elementary humanitarianism and humanity in order to attain its criminal ambition.

At a meeting of the UN Human Rights Council held in Geneva a day before the occurrence of the case, the Japanese side refuted the DPRK representative's just assertion that "Koreans in Japan are discriminated at tacit connivance of the government in Japan", terming it a "groundless assertion" and contending that "there is not the legal system of discriminating Koreans in Japan" and that "Japan has willingness to overcome mutual mistrust".

Does Japan have anything to say before the conscience of the world today?

This is the dirty picture of islanders paying lip-service to "dialogue" and calling for "sanctions and pressure" behind. They are beautifying Japan as "human rights champion" in front of the international community and committing all sorts of acts of national discrimination and crimes against humanity behind the scene.

We can never tolerate the Japanese reactionaries' fascist act against children of Koreans in Japan, overseas citizens of the dignified DPRK.

The Japanese reactionaries have to face up to the towering grudge of the Koreans, apologize for the brutal human rights abuse and immediately stop unwarranted discrimination and persecution of Chongryon and Koreans in Japan. -0-
