REPORT OF EUROPEAN REGIONAL JUCHE IDEA SEMINAR FOR INDEPENDENCE AND PEACE HELD IN ROME 7.10.2017

The Seminar was held on the 7th of October . It was presided over by the director general of the European Regional Society for the Study of the Juche Idea. Attending it was a delegation of the Korean Association of Social Scientists of the DPRK led by vice-director general Hong Chong Gil and including Professor Ri Jong Hwa (the KASS delegation was 50 per cent female , putting pay to false reports that women are not equal in the DPRK)as well as the delegation of the International Institute of the Juche Idea led by secretary general Ogami Kenichi.
The following countries were represented Britain, Finland, France, Germany , Italy, Romania, Russia and Ukraine . Of the Italians attending the seminar there was veteran communist and WW2 Italian anti-fascist partisan Miriam Pellegrini Ferri . Also in attendance was the new Korean Friendship Assocation OD for Italy and former KFA OD
The director general of the ERSSJI said that the Juche idea is essential for achieving independence.He attacked colonialism ,neo-colonialism and imperialist aggression and pointed out that people are opposed to war .
There was an excellent speech by Miriam Pellegrini Ferri , veteran Italian communist , anti-fascist partisan and chief of the Group of Dialectical Materialist Atheists . She explained how she became a communist after being an anti-fascist
partisan fighter in World War 2 . However the Italian Communist Party became very revisionist so she could not support it . She warned us that fascists are still present in Italy. For her Juche and Songun represented the way forward . Her speech was met by applause.
There were a number of excellent speeches , especially by the Ukrainian and Russian delegations. The Russian delegate said that 'At present the one dashing forward in the van is the DPRK led by WPK Chairman Kim Jong Un. We must make every effort to ensure solidarity between the DPRK and the world and between progressive people in our countries'
A meeting of the board of the European Regional Society for the Study of the Juche Idea was held . A new vice chairman was elected.
Our delegation had both informal and formal discussions with KASS . In the informal talk with Prof Mrs Ri Jong Hwa I was informed of the possibility for the younger generation
of our organisation to gain DPRK academic qualifications. I had a formal talk with Hong Chong Gil vice -director general of KASS and KASS executive secretary Ms Kim . They agreed to us sending a delegation for September 2018 and there might be a delegation in April but this would be subject to confirmation. Vice-director Hong said that now the outbreak of war in Korea is a serious and realistic possibility but said it wont happen because the majority of countries in the world and peoples are opposed to it . In answer to a question about Russia and China he said that these countries had been close to the DPRK in the past but had ultimately betrayed their principles
