Commentary on BBC Daily Politics Interview with KFA UK Chairman Dermot Hudson
Dr Hudson the KFA Offfical Delegate and Chairman of UK KFA reluctantly accepted an invitation from BBC2 "Daily Politics " to appear on the programme to "speak about north Korea". Given the BBC's appalling track record in covering the DPRK , Dr Hudson understandably had misgivings about appearing but nevertheless felt it was good to try and use the opportunity to put the DPRK's and KFA's case across .
Needless to say predictably adopted a very hositle line. The lead in to the interview used footage from Rupert Wingfield -Hayes report on the DPRK last year. Rupert Double-Barrelled name was expelled from the DPRK in May 2016 after he confessed to inaccurate and false reporting to the DPRK authorities. All sorts of wild and unsubstaniated allegations were made about the DPRK in the lead in
This is a thought control tactic by the BBC , It was aimed at rubbishing and undermining the interviewee before he actually opened his mouth. Basically prejudicing the audience against the subject matter .
Fortunately Dr Hudson was able to point out that this was demonisation, During the course of the interview Dr Hudson managed to refute some of the anti-DPRK myths created by the likes of the BBC and the mainstream media .
The highly cliched question 'would you live in the DPRK' was asked . This is also trick question . It is very remeniscent of the Cold War days when anyone criticial of the economic and social system existing in countries such as the UK and the US was usually told "if you do not like it here " why don't you go and live in the Soviet Union/East Germany/ Albania./China/ DPRK
The presenter Jo Coburn choose to be rude and insolent and ridiculoulsy accused Dr Hudson of being brainwashed. A bit ironic considering the BBC is well known amongst progressive people as the British Brainwashing Corporation . Of course Ms Coburn would know all about brainwashing !!
