The Juche Idea Study Group of England and the Association For the Study of SongunPolitics UK today issued a joint statement on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the classic work of the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il "Let Us Thoroughly Implement the Party's Strategic Policy on Living Our Own Way." on the 19th of December.

This work of the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il is a great revolutionary work which defined the idea,lines and strategies of the WPK and DPRK.It was written at a time with the US imperialists and south Korean puppets plus international reactionary forces were trying to stifle the DPRK and also the big power chauvinists, dominationists and modern revisionists were trying to put pressue on the DPRK to force it to give up the independent Juche based socialist road.The great leader comrade Kim Jong Il smashed all these machinations against Juche Korea by declaring "Let Us Live Our Own Way !".
This militant revolutionary slogan is seen everywhere in the DPRK.The line of "Living Our Own Way" has instilled the idea and spirit of self reliance in the Korean people.Juche Korea has steamed ahead under the banner of self reliance defying counter revolutionary ideas of "opening up" and "reform". Juche Korea has been built up powerfully as a socialist fortress and is admired by the world people for its independence and fortitude.
Today the idea of "Living Our Own Way",the Juche based faith of the Korean revolution is just as relevant as it was 30 years ago as even now the US imperialists and their followers as well big power chauvinists try to stifle Korean-style socialism.Great results have been achieved under the banner of self reliance and the Juche idea in the 100 day campaign.Industrial output value has increased by 30% over the previous year.

The Juche Idea Study Group of England and the Association
for the Study of Songun Politics of the UK today issued a joint statement on the occasions of the 18th anniversary of the election of the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il as Supreme Commander of the Korean Peoples Army and the 92nd birth anniversary of the mother of Korea Madame Kim Jong Suk.
The election of the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il as supreme commander of
the Korean Peoples Army was a truly momentous and significant event in the history of the Songun revolution in Korea.With this event the Songun revolutionary cause of Juche army
building started by the great revolutionary leader generalissimo Kim Il Sung was carried forward powerfully.The KPA under the commander of the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il has been built up strongly as a 'match for a hundred' army.It is also strong in ideology.Supreme Commander Kim Jong Il shares life with the ordinary soldiers visiting them all the time and taking care of their lives.
Under the leadership of the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il the dignity,honour and independence of Juche Korea the anti imperialist fortress and only true socialist country has been defended.In 1993 the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il as KPA supreme commander declared a semi war state announced the DPRK's withdrawal from the NPT.The DPRK has come to have its own powerful independent war deterrent.The 2 successful nuclear tests were powerful thunderbolts of Songun that made the US imperialists and their satellites shake with fear.This is thanks to the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il.Indeed the US imperialists and

anti Japanese woman heroine.She was an indomitable communist revolutionary fighter
and soldier of the great leader general Kim Il Sung.She fought hard against the evil
Japanese imperialists displaying unparalleled bravery and great military skill.She
pioneered the communist womens movement in Korea and fought for the liberation
of Korean women.She elaborated Juche orientated theories on the liberation of women

Pyongyang, December 19 (KCNA) -- General Secretary Kim Jong Il published a famous work "Let Us Thoroughly Implement the Party's Strategic Policy on Living Our Own Way" on December 19, Juche 68 (1979). He clarified in the work that only when the Korean people live their own way under the revolutionary banner of the Juche idea, can they overcome manifold difficulties and trials and advance the revolution victoriously. At that time, the U.S.-led imperialists were resorting to crafty means to disintegrate socialist countries from within, while trying to wreck peace and trample down the sovereignty of other nations and intensifying their aggressive maneuvers. In particular, their anti-DPRK maneuvers were becoming all the more undisguised. He elucidated that, for the Korean people, living their own way means thinking and acting in their mind as required by the Juche idea and carrying forward the revolution and construction to suit their interests and actual conditions of their country. He noted that the Koreans' is the Juche-oriented style and that they cannot be forced to live others' way, apart from their advantageous one, saying that they should pursue their own style in politics, the economy, culture and national defence. The Korean people, holding high the slogan "Let us live our own way!" reflecting the Juche-based faith and will of Kim Jong Il, the great illustrious commander of Songun, have further strengthened their own force of the revolution and steadily enhanced its role to thoroughly carry through the Juche-oriented socialist construction line of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) in reliance on the revolutionary spirit of self-reliance. The history of the Korean revolution, which has advanced triumphantly, frustrating all moves of the imperialists and reactionaries to isolate and stifle the DPRK, clearly proves the great vitality of the WPK's strategic policy on living as required by the Juche idea.

18TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE ELECTION OF LEADER KIM JONG IL AS KPA SUPREME
COMMANDER.
On the 24th of December 1991 comrade Kim Jong Il was elected by the
Central Committee of the Workers Party of Korea as the Supreme Commander
of the Korean Peoples Army(KPA) having previously been elected as vice
chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK in 1990.The post
of KPA Supreme Commander is very important post and its importance has
increased over the years as the confrontation between the DPRK and US has
instensified.The
election to the post of KPA Supreme Commander came at a time when the
Korean peninsula was tense as the south Korean puppet army had threatened
to mount a pre emptive strike on the DPRK nuclear facilities.
                 Comrade Kim Jong Il had studied military affairs for
many years and had been involved with military affairs as far back as 1960
when he gave guidance to the Seoul Guard Ryu Kyong Su Tank Division 105.He
wrote many works on military affairs and also worked behind the scenes in
the "Pueblo incident " in 1968.
               After becoming Supreme Commander of the KPA in 1991 he
led the revolutionary armed forces of the DPRK in confronting US
imperialism.There was talk of prempetive strikes on DPRK
nuclear facilities.In March 1993 he put the KPA and armed forces of the
DPRK onto a semi war state to cope with the war provocations of the Yankee
imperialists.He led the Korean Peoples Army to face down the US
imperialists in the 1st and 2nd 'nuclear crisis'.The DPRK has come to have
its own powerful war deterrent.
      The KPA is a powerful revolutionary army in which one of its troops
is a match for a 100 of the enemy.It is now equipped with modern means
of warfare.It has become much stronger under the leadership of Supreme
Commander Kim Jong Il.He has paid close attention to modelling the
army on the Juche idea(the idea that man is the master which is
expressed in practicals terms as independence,self suffiency
and self reliance) with the result that the KPA has been built up strongly
in terms of ideology.
The DPRK has adopted Songun or Army first politics.The central concept to
this is that the army is the pillar of the revolution.The start of the
Songun revolution was the election of comrade Kim Jong Il as KPA
Supreme Commander.Comrade Kim Jong Il all the times visits army units
and speaks to soldiers in a down to earth manner.He always enquiries about
the daily lives of troops.
          This year another great victory was achieved under the Supreme
Commandership of the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il,the second nuclear
test.This strike fear into the DPRK enemies-the US imperialists and their
followers-and was both an act of defiance and an assertion of the DPRK's
independence and will.We salute the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il on
the occasion of the 18th anniversary of his election as KPA Supreme
Commander.

BIRTH ANNIVERSARY OF MADAME KIM JONG SUK ANTI JAPANESE WOMAN HEROINE
The birth of Comrade Kim Jong Suk on the 24th of December 1917 was a
highly significant event for the Korean people and the world people.

Comrade Kim Jong Suk was born into an oppressed peasants family that
witnessed the oppression of the Korean people by the Japanese imperialists
and in particular the double and triple exploitation of Korean women. She
joined the Korean People’s Revolutionary Army at a young age and became a
loyal soldier of the great revolutionary leader General Kim Il Sung, the
commander of the KPRA.

Comrade Kim Jong Suk defended the great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung with
her own life. She became known for her great military skill.

She was a pioneer of the Korean communist women’s movement, and played a
great role in revolutionising women.

After liberation in 1945 she devoted herself to the work of building a new
people’s democratic country. She worked hard without a thought for her own
comfort. She passed away at the early age of 32 in 1949.

She always embodied the great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung’s Juche-oriented
view on women; namely that women are equal with men but at the same time
must retain their feminine qualities.

Comrade Kim Jong Suk was a great paragon of communist womanhood and a true
revolutionary soldier of the great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung. Her
exploits will be enshrined forever in the hearts of the Korean people and
world progressive people.

election of the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il as KPA Supreme Commander

HOW THE MEDIA BRAINWASH PEOPLE ABOUT THE DPRK
The Western media which includes an number of press agencies such as
Reuters as well TV networks and electronic media conduct a brainwashing
campaign against the DPRK which pursues a policy of independence.

Nazi propaganda minister Josef Goebbels said if you repeat a lie enough
times people will believe.This tactic has been applied against the DPRK
continously.Lets take some examples.The media constantly refer to the
"isolated state" meaning the DPRK.In fact the DPRK is a UN member and also
a member of a wide range of international bodies such UNESCO, the World
Health Organisation,Universal Post Union ,IPU and many others. It has
diplomatic relations with over 100 countries as well trade with them,so
how can it be isolated.
Other words that are repeated over and over again are "impoverished state"
and "shattered economy".Now whilst it is true that the DPRK suffer
difficulties in the 1990s due to natural disaster and imperialist isolate
and crush tactics the DPRK now has one of the highest economic growth
rates in Asia and the world and is developing cutting edge technology such
as CNC tools.The DPRK is not a rich country but not a poor one either.Even
grudging and conservative estimates of the DPRK's national income per
capita
give put it higher than the UN poverty line of $1 per day.

Western media reports contradict themselves .They portray the DPRK as
"highly secretive", "closed " etc but then proceed to report intricate
internal workings and goings on the DPRK,how would they know ?.

A lot of Western media reports are second hand reports from south Korean
news agencies.Some reports have come from the far right wing "Chosun Ilbo"
in south Korea and others have come from shadowy groups in south Korea.


UNELECTED AND OVERPAID CRITICISE THE DPRK!
The House of Lords have recently produced a report attacking the DPRK.It
is ironic that a body which is not elected dares to lecture the DPRK on
democracy.The main instigator of this report Lord David Alton claims about
£50,000 in expenses for turning up at the place just 122 days so he
recieves £441 for each day.Lord Alton's report is full of outlandish
propaganda.Allegations about 'political prisoner camps' in the DPRK has
been refuted many times.For example allegedly there is a prison camp
in Hwasong but as KCNA said "  Explicitly speaking, there exists no such
place as the above-said political prisoners' camp in the DPRK".

Prison is a last resort in the DPRK.The maximum sentence is 12 years.An
amnesty was granted to prisoners in 2002 see below

   Pyongyang, December 27 (KCNA) -- The presidium of the DPRK Supreme
People's Assembly (SPA) promulgated a decree dated Dec. 13 on
declaring an amnesty on the occasion of the 90th birth anniversary of
President Kim Il Sung. The decree says:
   "The presidium of the SPA of the DPRK makes the following decision to
fully implement the benevolent policy of the Workers' Party of Korea
true to the intention of the great leader comrade Kim Il Sung in his
lifetime and his cause to the run-up to his 90th birth anniversary,
the greatest jubilee of the nation and the common holiday of
humankind:
   1. An amnesty shall be granted for those sentenced to reform through
labor for committing crimes against the country and people on the
occasion of the 90th birth anniversary of the great leader comrade Kim
Il Sung.
   2. The amnesty shall take effect from January, Juche 91 (2002).
   3. The cabinet and institutions concerned shall take practical steps
to enable those set free to work and live in normal conditions."

So there cannot be lots of prisoners in the DPRK as the House of Lords
allege.

ANTI DPRK PROVOCATION AND LIES

he imperialist media and the south Korean media are making a big fuss
concerning an incident involving a commerical freight aircraft which
supposedly was” carrying weapons from the DPRK”.
The following parts of the story are  suspicious ;

   * No DPRK national or ethnic Korean has been held in connection with
only 4 Kazhaks and a Belarussian
   * Thai authorities have for 48 hours not been able to say where plane
was going.
   * No independent evidence offered that plane had taken off from
Pyongyang
   * Captured weapons have not been displayed or proof offered that they
are DPRK weapons and they are new DPRK weapons(rather than 2nd hand ones
bought from another country).

As of November 30th the DPRK has revalued the DPRK Won which is the national currency to the DPRK.1 Won = 100 chon.The new Won is worth 100 old won.

Both the Western imperialist media and south Korean puppets are maligantly slandering the DPRK The Won’s revaluation is overwhelmingly positive.In fact it is a dramatic and radical measure by the DPRK government which always put the people first.Prices will be reduced 100 fold.It will strengthen the DPRK’s socialist monetary and financial system and prevent
too much money from being in circulation.It strengthens the DPRK ’s currency by giving the Won increased purchasing power against the dollar and Euro.Also the circulation of non DPRK currencies in the DPRK will now cease.Thus currency sovereignity will be increased by this measure.It deals a blow to those who want the DPRK to “open up” and “reform” in some way.

There is no chaos contrary to false reports in the south Korean media.People are allowed to exchange their old Won for New Won.An upper limit has been placed on the amount people can exchange this will only hit hoarders and speculators.

One DPRK official quoted in the "Choson Sinbo" newspaper of Japan said that the DPRK will never adopt the free market system and that the DPRK will maintain the socialist principle in economic management.

Jo Sung Hyon of the DPRK Central Bank further explained

"Because the economy has stepped onto a healthy track, the DPRK has the
ability to revaluate the currency, Jo said.

The revaluation of the DPRK won would also boost the use of modern ways of money printing and "improve the ideological and artistic content" of the won" also he said "The move will "give favored treatment to those who make earnings by their honest labor," so it was "welcomed and supported" by the majority of workers, farmers and public officers"

Pyongyang, December 6 (KCNA) -- Shortly ago, the south Korean puppets sentenced the chairperson for information of the Solidarity for Implementing the South-North Joint Declaration to two years in prison, two years of suspension of qualification and four years of probation on charges of possessing MP3 file containing musical programs of the DPRK. Commenting on this, a news analyst of Minju Joson Sunday observes: This trial goes to prove that the "liberal democratic system" much touted by the puppets is nothing but a harsh fascist system which bans even freely listening to and singing songs and south Korea is the world's darkest society with the worst human rights record. By doing so the puppets revealed before the world people their true colors as fascists and the truth behind their anti-DPRK human rights campaign. The conservative ruling forces of south Korea are reacting to the broad-minded measures and sincere efforts of the DPRK for improving the inter-Korean relations by escalating the confrontation with fellow countrymen. The above-said sentence is part of such confrontation moves. The puppets are abusing even musical programs for escalating the confrontation with fellow countrymen. It is their ulterior intention to mercilessly suppress anyone calling for implementing the north-south joint declaration and standing in the way of their anti-reunification moves in a bid to clear the hurdles lying in the way of the fascist rule and confrontation with fellow countrymen. The trial of the pregnant chairperson for information of the solidarity indicates what extent the fascist suppression of pro-reunification patriotic forces of south Korea has reached. Their escalated confrontation with fellow countrymen and intensified fascist suppression are by no means expedients for prolonging their remaining days but lead them to ruin, warns the news analyst.

South Korea is a mammonish society where money and power are almighty, a society where the law of the jungle prevails, and a decadent society where all sorts of crimes such as swindle and fraud, killing and robbery, and human traffic are rampant.

- Uninterrupted Crimes

In 2008 1,966,000 cases of different crimes were committed in south Korea, 7.6% more than that of the previous year.

In 2008 the murder increased by 5.6%, robbery by 8.3%, sex violence by 4.1%, assault and other crimes of violence by 32.7%, and in particular the number of the young criminals of violence by 15.4% in comparison with 2007.

More than 1.54 million cases of living-related crimes occurred in 2008, among which the larcenies increased by 11.3% and the fraud and criminal negligence by more than 30% as compared with that of 2007.

In 2008 49,631 cases of arson were committed (3.7% more than 47,882 cases of 2007).

81.2% of them were deliberate crimes and arsons by young people increased by 65.5%.

- Employment Crisis

At present the completely unemployed are 3.77 million and 5,200 jobs are reduced every day. Jobless people will increase more than those in the period of the financial crisis in 1997 owing to the mass dismissal by the business “restructuring”.

Now in south Korea one fourth of the population are unemployed or underemployed.

2.6 million families have householders with no job and even the employed are suffering from the phobia about unemployment.

Owing to the anti-people policy of the treacherous Lee Myung-bak regime, deteriorating economy and rampant social ills, the people's living fall into misery more and more and various crimes prevail.

This is the reality of south Korea today.
