Pyongyang, December 3 (KCNA) -- Ri Thae Song, vice minister of Foreign Affairs of the DPRK in charge of the U.S. Affairs, released the following statement on Tuesday:
Drawing nearer is the year-end time limit the DPRK set for the U.S.
However, the U.S. is keen on earning time needed for it, talking about the "sustained and substantial dialogue", far from acting in response to the measures taken by the DPRK first.
The dialogue touted by the U.S. is, in essence, nothing but a foolish trick hatched to keep the DPRK bound to dialogue and use it in favor of the political situation and election in the U.S.
The DPRK has heard more than enough dialogue rhetoric raised by the U.S. whenever it is driven into a tight corner. So, no one will lend an ear to the U.S. any longer.
The DPRK has done everything transparently and openly so far. It feels no need to hide what it will do from now on and therefore, reminds the U.S. once again that the year-end time limit comes nearer.
The DPRK has done its utmost with maximum perseverance not to backtrack from the important steps it has taken on its own initiative.
What is left to be done now is the U.S. option and it is entirely up to the U.S. what Christmas gift it will select to get. -0-

A refutation of critics of people's democracy in People's Korea
It is common for the mainstream media ,pundits and academics to describe the Democratic People's
Republic of Korea as a "dictatorship " etc and complain about the lack of so-called "free elections' . Of course they would do well to worry elections in capitalist countries where in some places 56 per cent of electors do not bother to vote .
Leaving aside the propaganda of those ill-intentioned towards People's Korea , the argument would appear to be based on a fundamental misunderstanding of the DPRK's political system and a false comparison between politics in capitalist countries and politics in the DPRK and other socialist countries.
Basically a wrong comparison is made between the Workers' Party of Korea and the Supreme leadership of the DPRK on the one other and on the other hand politicians and political parties in capitalist countries . The two are not the same , they have different roles and functions .
Elections and politics in capitalist countries are basically illusory. Real decisions are not made by elected bodies but actually by the big corporations the banks , the landowners and the upper echelons of the civil service , none of which are elected by the whole people . When did you ever vote for Amazon or Tesco ? When Lloyds Bank took over TSB bank , did you vote for it , were you consulted ? . The simple answer is no!
Politicians in Western countries are just spokespeople or a front for those with real power, of course being a politician in a capitalist country is a very lucrative trade . £79,468 per year for being a member of the British parliament plus expenses , long holidays and very little work so it inevitable that many would compete for such roles.It is not surprising that some will say 'they are all out for themselves '.
In People's Korea , deputies to the Supreme People's Assembly, the highest organ of power are honorable servants of the people . Ordinary workers are deputies to the Supreme People's Assembly.There is no need to compete for a place in parliamentary easy street but rather a matter of the people choosing the best people for the job , people they will have confidence in . Thus elections in the DPRK are civilized affair . Moreover the turnout is virtually 100 per cent and people dance and sing on election day .
From time to time the real rulers in so-called "democracies ' when faced with serious crisis , dispense with the facade and rule by force , this is what happened in Germany , Italy and other countries in the 1930s . A dictatorship is when the capitalist megacorporations sink their differences and entrust power to one individual or a group of individuals to rule on their behalf . However in the DPRK where social ownership prevails there are no big private corporations so a dictatorship cannot arise.
Parties in capitalist countries more often than not a simply run by small cliques and the sole aim to get their people into parliament . By contrast the ruling party in People's Korea is a mass party of the working class , working farmers and working intellectuals .It exists for the people , for the many and not the few .Its role and function is to lead the building of socialism , to organise and guide the people .The Workers Party of Korea has a mass membership and has members in all walks of life from waitresses and shop assistants to generals and ministers .
To conclude it is really impossible to compare politicians in Western capitalist countries w with the Supreme leadership of the DPRK and the Workers' Party of Korea

DISARMED PEOPLE? NOT IN DPRK!
Much is said by the imperialists that the communists argue that the people are unarmed. In order to establish a dictatorship and not risk armed people's uprisings. And with the DPRK is no different. They say, but as always, without any foundation, that the people cannot take up arms, and thus cannot react to a "dictatorship". But what really is in it?
To state something of this kind is, first of all, to the listener, meaningless. After all, even if you are not a student of the subject, you know that the DPRK is a country that attaches great importance to military affairs and its army.
Due to the situation of constant threat and tension with the West, all the people in the DPRK are trained to be prepared to go to war at any time. And the question is: Is unarmed a people that has close ties to their army, composed of almost the entire population?
In addition, we must also mention the existence of the civil armed forces. The Red Worker-Peasant Guard is a paramilitary force created by President Kim Il Sung, on January 14, 1959. It is made up mostly of peasants and, therefore, has more operations in rural areas. They conduct their training according to their organizations in each province, and receive the armaments from the Department of Military Affairs. However, they have less control over them than the KPA. They also take part in the military parades, also bringing agricultural equipment adapted to actual war confrontation, showing great creativity. They also developed several missile launchers for themselves.
We also have the Red Youth Guard. That is also a paramilitary organization, volunteer of students, who perform their duties for national defense as well as their basic duty to study. It was founded in 1970 also by President Kim Il Sung. Their important duty is to defend the peasant front with the Red Worker-Peasant Guard if the aggressors start a war.
General Kim Jong Il said:
"The columns of the Worker-Peasant Red Guards and Young Red Guards should follow the columns of serving soldiers. The Worker-Peasant Red Guards and Young Red Guards are paramilitary forces organized in line with our party's policy of arming the entire population. It will be good to include these columns in the parade so that we can demonstrate what our paramilitary forces, as well as our regular army, look like. Only in our country would these forces take part in such a parade."
We see, therefore, that of "unarmed people" there is nothing in the DPRK. More than weapons, they are also armed with a powerful ideology, which, as we have seen, was superior to any military technology used by aggressors in the past.

A refutation of the false pseudo-academic propaganda of BR Myers against People's Korea -special article by Dr Dermot Hudson
During our recent visit to the DPRK,in October 2019 we discussed anti DPRK propaganda with our good friend Professor Kim Chang Gyong of the Korean Association of Social Scientists . We informed him of the efforts of south Korea-based US writer B R Myers to smear the great Juche idea , tarnish the DPRK's reputation and undermine support for the DPRK . Professor Kim was shocked to hear that Myers has peddled the myth that the Juche idea is based on 'racial nationalism' . Professor Kim urged us to counterattack Myers so I have written this essay which incorporates an earlier article.
9 years ago in 2010 Myers published the book " The Cleanest Race " . The book and other materials by Myers are used to attack the DPRK , it is really part and parcel of imperialism's psychological warfare against the DPRK , only of a most insidious kind that basically turns black into white .Myers teaches at a south Korean university and is a contributor to the reactionary imperialist press of the US. Basically Myers is on the payroll of the south Korean puppets and US imperialism.He is actually the son of a US army officer who was part of the US occupation forces in south Korea.
Myers's book claims that the DPRK is based on extreme racial nationalism and this is somehow rooted in Japanese fascism. This is a most profound insult to the DPRK and its supreme leadership. As everyone knows that the DPRK was born of the struggle to free the country from Japanese imperialism. Many anti-Japanese revolutionary fighters fell in the fight against Japanese fascism . Indeed the great leader President Kim Il Sung lost many family members in the struggle against Japanese imperialism and fascism, his father, mother, uncle, younger brother and cousin. How on earth could the DPRK be based on something that its founding father fought against so hard for 20 years? It does not stand to reason.
Japanese imperialism did a great deal of damage in Korea and was hated and rejected by all Korean people as the great leader president Kim Il Sung said
" the Japanese imperialist marauders harshly exploited and repressed the Korean people. They considered ours an "inferior nation", and allowed no Korean to participate in the management of factories, enterprises and state establishments.
The Japanese imperialists took under their wings only a handful of pro-Japanese elements and traitors to the nation who, divorced from the people, had become their faithful stooges.
They tried to destroy our national culture with its 5,000-year old history, and imposed upon our nation the Japanese language, Japanese customs, Japanese culture and the Japanese religion called "Shintoism", for the purpose of paralysing the national consciousness of the Korean people.
With the liberation of our country from Japanese imperialist rule in August 1945, the days of insult and slavery, the bitterness of which penetrated our nation to the bone, came to an end and the wide road to a new life was opened before the Korean people."

It is quite inconceivable that the DPRK would be in any way influenced by an ideology that regarded Korean's as an inferior nation.
When Korea was liberated in 1945 as a result of the armed struggle led by the great leader President Kim Il Sung he stated that one of the main tasks confronting the Korean people was to eliminate all traces of Japanese imperialism
"At present, the Korean revolution is at a stage where it must sweep away the survivals of Japanese imperialism and feudalism and build a new, democratic society, that is, at the stage of anti-imperialist, anti-feudal democratic revolution."

Furthermore he stated 'that the general ideological mobilization campaign for nation building was a great ideological transformation to eliminate all degenerate and decadent customs and attitudes to life, a leftover from Japanese imperialism, fully develop the spirit and features, morality and fighting efficiency required of the workers of a new and democratic Korea, and create wholesome and vibrant national stamina. He instructed that this campaign be conducted by the methods of ideological struggle and ideological education in close combination with the people’s practical struggle to build the new country.'

In the DPRK all traces of Japanese rule were obliterated. Fascist organisations were actually prohibited by law in the DPRK in the 1940s . The 20-point Platform of the Provisional People's Committee of North Korea announced by President KIM IL SUNG on the 23rd of March 1946 stated that the new government should 'strictly ban the activities of fascist ,anti-democratic parties and individuals '. It should be noted that in the US and south Korea (and indeed other imperialist countries) that fascist parties and organisations freely operate.
However in south Korea the US occupiers made the former collaborators of Japanese imperialism their collaborators and gave them high positions. One of them was Park Chung Hee the military fascist dictator of the 60s and 70s who was a lieutenant in the Japanese Army (his daughter Park Geun Hye was the chief executive of south Korea until removed from power in 2017). In south Korea laws such as the repressive "National Security Law" are modeled on the old Japanese colonial laws . It is south Korea which has been experienced several decades of fascist rule both civilian and military . Ironically this is where Mr Myers is teaching and receiving a salary (we wonder just how much he is paid by the south Korean puppets) from the south Korean authorities . South Korea has not one but several Hitler bars and restaurants , have these escaped the notice of Mr Myers.
Myer's argument is a clumsy and intellectual fraudulent one which actually equates 'nationalism' or chauvinism in imperialist countries with the anti-imperialist revolutionary nationalism of oppressed countries. Thus in the twisted world view of Mr Myers in which the victim is seen as the same as the aggressor.
In today's world it is actually US imperialism that represents a form of fascism or international dictatorship as it tries to impose its will on the world through its so-called "New World Order " and its "coca-cola-isation and "McDonald-isation " which tries to obliterate the culture and national identities of other countries. The US imperialists seek to 'globalise' the world and create a world state. The DPRK is one of the few countries to stand up to this and should be applauded.It can also be added that Myers is deeply hypocritical in trying to criticise and throw stones at the DPRK because his native US is a society where racism and discrimination are rampant , a society where black people are gunned down by the police.
The idea of Mr Myers on the DPRK being somehow rooted in Japanese fascism is also a modern form of the old Cold War myth created by the ideologists of the CIA that somehow communism and fascism are the same
Myers tries to tar the DPRK with the brush of chauvinism and" racial nationalism " (ie extreme racism ) .However the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL made it clear that this was not the case
" We should distinguish clearly between true nationalism that loves the nation and defends its interests and bourgeois nationalism that advocates the interests of the bourgeois class. Bourgeois nationalism reveals itself as national egoism, national exclusivism and big- power chauvinism in the relationship between countries and nations; it is reactionary in that it creates antagonism and disagreement between countries and nations, and checks the development of friendly relations between the various peoples of the world."

Earlier President KIM IL SUNG in a 1969 speech strongly condemned racism saying that " the imperialists make every effort to estrange the working class of the metropolitan countries from the people's of the colonies.They maneuver to poison the working class with stinking ideas of racism and national chauvinism "

It was significant that these remarks were made a year after J. Enoch Powell's infamous 'rivers of blood ' speech in the the UK which saw an upswing in racism and a growth in far right and fascist organisations. It was also at this time the DPRK cultivated relations with the US Black Panther Party , an organisation fighting for the liberation of black people in the imperialist United States. Thus the DPRK has an impeccable anti-racist record.
Myers and other hack writers claim that the DPRK maintains racial purity . However the DPRK Law of Nationality of October 9th 1963 states that 'foreigners can acquire DPRK nationality by their request regardless of nationality and races '(Article 6 ) . The right of DPRK citizens to marry foreigners is protected by Article 7 of the DPRK Nationality Law which stipulates that DPRK citizenship is retained if someone is married to a non DPRK citizen. It is a myth that mixed marriages are forbidden in the DPRK and in fact some Japanese women married to DPRK citizens settled in the DPRK , some of them have been admitted to the Worker's Party of Korea , the ruling party of People's Korea. The famous US defector the late Joe Dresnok lived in the DPRK from the 1960s and was married to a DPRK citizen. The sons of Joe Dresnok actually serve in the Korean People's Army.
In 1945 President KIM IL SUNG told the Japanese communist leader Sanzō Nosaka that "And as for the Japanese people ,who wish to stay in north Korea ,we will provide them with jobs according to their wishes an aptitudes and take necessary measures for making their life stablized.This is humanitarian work that we have to do"

Given that Japan had committed severe crimes against the Korean people it would be quite understandable that Korean people would feel extreme animosity towards Japanese people and would want any Japanese person expelled from Korean soil . However President KIM IL SUNG let those Japanese who wanted to stay in the DPRK stay and even made sure they were given jobs. This is hardly racism . Moreover President KIM IL SUNG explained to Sanzo Nosaka that " The Korean people never regarded the Japanese people as their enemy.It is Japanese imperialism that they have been regarding as their enemy and fought against "

The DPRK has a very proud internationalist record. It has assisted many liberation struggles throughout the world and given material assistance to some countries. Guided by the Juche idea , the DPRK has always been internationalist , it has supported revolutionary and anti-imperialist struggles in many countries such as Vietnam , Cuba, Angola and others . National liberation movements such as ZANU, ANC , SWAPO, MPLA and many others all received assistance from the DPRK,Many international events and conferences are held in the DPRK.Foreign guests to the DPRK always receive a warm welcome.This the reality of the DPRK .
Myers himself to my knowledge has never once set foot in the DPRK ( the same as many so-called "north Korea experts" such as Barbara Demick in the Western countries )let alone actually live there , so has no direct experience of the DPRK. All his views of the DPRK are supposition and conjecture In fact Myers's book draws heavily on DPRK novels and also DPRK comic books aimed at teenagers. Has anyone tried to do an analysis of US foreign policy or US society using "Superman " or "Batman " comics or maybe American fiction. Myers have never bothered to study the speeches and writings of President KIM IL SUNG , Chairman KIM JONG IL and respected Marshal KIM JONG UN or policy documents of the DPRK government.
Myers is basically both an apologist for US colonial rule in south Korea (and the division of Korea ) and a latter day cold warrior against People's Korea, part of the CIA's well paid academic army against Juche Korea .The book 'The Cleanest Race " is really sub-tabloid smears against People's Korea dressed up and marketed as 'academic research ' .
It is totally inconceivable that the Juche idea which aims at the liberation of people from oppression and exploitation should be in any way linked to racism and fascism. Juche advocates the full realisation of man's independence and creativity.It is the complete opposite to fascism which stipulates the subordination of the people to the interests of the ruling class.The Juche idea is a human centred idea which rejects all reactionary and anti-human ideas such as racism.
We hope that people will reject the nonsense of Myers and campaign more vigorously in support of People's Korea and the Juche idea.

KCNA Commentary Censures Japan for Rushing Headlong into Overseas Expansion
Pyongyang, December 1 (KCNA) -- Japan is still unabated in its military moves, disturbing the regional situation.
Shortly ago, the Ministry of Defence announced that a joint actual maneuver between the U.S. marines and the Japan Ground "Self-Defense Force" would be staged in Shigoku in December for the first time. It was reported that four U.S. Ospreys would be involved in the maneuver.
This is the clear manifestation of the military ambition of Japan getting frantic in its moves to become a military giant and launch an overseas expansion with the backing of its master as it is part of its moves to make the "Self-Defense Forces" take part in an actual war without fail.
The current SDF which has turned into perfect armed forces with attack capability is very busy acquiring the capability for fighting a war, steadily expanding the sphere of its military operations and familiarizing itself with overseas expansion.
What draws attention is that Japan is working hard to make the SDF acquire the capability for fighting a war under the pretext of the "military alliance" and "cooperation for defence".
The SDF started the U.S.-Japan joint military exercises this year with an airlift drill simulating the defence of remote islands with a U.S. special unit. In collusion with its master, it continuously conducted military exercises akin to an actual war such as an actual maneuver between the "amphibious task force" and the U.S. marines and a joint exercise between fighters of the Japan Air SDF and a B-52 of the U.S. Air Force.
In May, warships of the Japan Maritime SDF staged a joint drill with France, Australia and the U.S. in the Indian Ocean for the first time and hung around the waters off the Pacific for a long time for maritime joint exercises with littoral nations.
In this context, the Japanese political circles are boosting the moves for laying a springboard favorable for military advance into other countries while approving the conclusion of agreements on mutual provision of goods and manpower between the SDF and the French and Canadian armies and examining the conclusion of the "agreement on the status of visiting unit" between the SDF and the British army.
That's why the acts of the Japanese government pressing ahead with the dispatch of the SDF to the Middle East under the pretence of the aggravated Middle East situation can not be construed only from the viewpoint of "information collection" and "assurance of marine security".
The horrible records of the SDF steadily enlarging the radius of its military operation throw doubts as to where the Japanese armed forces terminate their bid to acquire the capability for fighting a war.
The largest defense costs in the history of Japan, armed forces with attack capability beyond the principle of "exclusive defense", military advance into other countries and other moves show that every military action of Japan is oriented to an actual war and reinvasion.
This year Japan saw the end of the era of "Heisei" and greeted the era of "Reiwa".
Even though much water flew under the bridge and the unique name of years was changed, Japan remains unchanged in its militaristic ambition for becoming a war-capable state, free from all historical, legal and moral restraints at home and abroad.
The international community follows with great concern which way Japan will take in the era of "Reiwa". -0-

Capitalism Has No Future: Rodong Sinmun
Pyongyang, December 1 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun says in an article on Sunday that even though the Western politicians and media under their thumb idealize capitalism, advertising that it is a "typical example" of sustained development and prosperity whenever an opportunity presents itself, they can never cover up the social evils precipitating its ruin.
The article cites data to prove that the gap between the rich and the poor, unemployment, moral decay, etc. are the cancer of capitalism and its fate is destined to sink like a setting sun.
It goes on:
The gap between the rich and the poor, unemployment and moral decay are not a passing phase but the fatal one jolting the root of the capitalist system.
Capitalism has maintained its existence while pretending to be a "model" of economic growth and "modern civilization" but is now driven into a tight corner.
The phenomenon in which the rich get richer and the poor poorer, moral decay, social disintegration and public discontent get more serious and grow larger, driving capitalism into a crisis.

In the evening they held the seminar "Revolution and Army: Military Policy of North Korea" attended by Korean comrades and comrade Lenan Cunha, Vice-President of the Brazilian Center for the Study of Songun Politics.
During the seminar, Lucas Rubio talked about the Korean Revolution, its history and the participation of the People's Army in the socialist construction
Ambassador Kim Chol Hak and Secretary Kim Jong Chol then gave a short speech praising the work of our center and thanking comrade Lenan and me for our efforts to bring the people of Brazil and Korea closer and to scientifically disseminate the Idea Juche and Songun and the works of the Great Leaders.
At the end of the meeting comrade ambassador presented Lenan Cunha with the "Order of Friendship", awarded by the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly to our comrade
