The Association For the Study of Songun Politics UK(ASSPUK),the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea(BGSJI),the Korean Friendship Association of the UK( KFA UK ) and the British Solidarity Committee for Peace and Reunification on the Korean Peninsula(BSCPRKP) issued the following joint statement in support of the report of the General Staff of the Korean People's Army (KPA) on the 5th of January ;
Wild rumours were spread by the south Korean puppet media concerning the situation in the West Sea of Korea . These rumours were basically false but were copied by the mainstream media in Western countries . The General Staff of the KPA issued a report on the 5th of January which clarified the situation and refuted the misinformation being spread by the south Korean puppets and the imperialist mainstream media .
The south Korean fascist puppets had falsely claimed the KPA had shelled Yongphyong Island .However as stated by the report of the KPA General Staff " On the ratification of the General Staff of the KPA, units and sub-units in charge of the southwestern coastal defence under the 4th Corps of the KPA staged a naval live-shell firing drill into five districts with 192 shells by mobilizing 47 cannons of various calibers of 13 companies and 1 platoon force from 09:00 to 11:00 on January 5.
The claim of the military gangsters of the Republic of Korea that the KPA fired naval artillery shells into the waters north of Paekryong Island and Yonphyong Island, a so-called buffer zone in the West Sea of Korea, is a far-fetched assertion to mislead the public opinion, and their evacuation and firing in return are also a trite method to throw the responsibility for the escalating tension on the KPA's drill."
The live fire drills staged by the KPA were merely a legitimate response to the provocative exercises carried out by south Korea and the US from the beginning of the New Year . The Western media do not mention these nor do they mention the occupation of south Korea by US troops or the stationing by the US of nuclear strategic assets .
The KPA General Staff conclude their report by stating that they will take strong counter-action should the south Korean puppets act foolishly . Moreover the south Korean puppets are no longer considered part of the same nation .
We say that People's Korea has the right to defence and retaliation against the south Korean puppets and US imperialists . Progressive people should defend People's Korea against the hostile provocations of the south Korean puppet comprador regime and the US imperialists !
