Resenting Public Sentiment

All kinds of violence ruthlessly trampling on the dignity and rights of persons hold the most serious form in the worldwide human rights crimes, and without completely terminating them, human rights themselves cannot be thought of.

The United Nations General Assembly at its 61st Session in June 2007 decided to observe the International Day of Non-Violence on 2 October each year for universal relevance of the principle of non-violence.

Many countries around the world are now making enormous efforts for ensuring universal human rights through the continued international cooperation and discussions. However, as if to challenge these efforts, shuddering acts of violence such as decadent form of torture and sexual violence are openly committed in all parts of the world, thus evoking great concerns from the international society.

The leading culprits behind these acts are none other than the United States and the Western countries.

It is already globally acknowledged that the U.S. is the gravest human rights violator the world has ever known, the only country that approved and politicized the most vicious and violent acts such as brutal torture on human beings, sexual violence and forced labor.

Following September 11 incident, CIA has covertly initiated and carried out the project of secret prisons according to the presidential executive order. As a result, secret prisons and black sites have been set up in several countries including Afghanistan and Iraq, imposing immeasurable sufferings on numerous people.

At that time, U.S. President George W. Bush approved the water torture for the suspects of September 11 incident. Not having felt enough with it, the U.S. squandered more than US$ 81million on developing various kinds of torture technique alone and applied medieval forms of torture to the persons.

At the Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq, the U.S. soldiers forcibly stripped off the detainees and made them build a human pyramid, and then let loose the dogs to bite them. On the other hand, female soldiers posed for photographs against the background of naked male detainees. These repulsive behaviors of the American soldiers prompted the universal indignation.

AP News Agency once reported that the Americans fastened the detainees to the rack and “grilled” them over fire at a secret prison in Yemen. Not content with this, they used sexual torture and even made no bones about such shocking deeds as applying human waste over the bodies of detainees. And at the prison of the U.S. naval base in Guantanamo, detainees were even used as guinea pigs for atrocious living experiments.

The Western countries are not less than the U.S. when it comes to the human rights crimes.

According to the data, inhumane violence against refugees such as brutal beating, sexual assault and maltreatment of children are rampant in the refugee camps run by Australia, so much so that the refugees there, be they adults or children, are complaining that they don’t want to sustain their lives any longer.

While the U.S. and the Western countries are talking about perfection of the criminal procedure and judicial system to deal with the cruel crimes at the annual sessions of UNHRC, they are keeping silent about human rights crimes committed even at this moment by their own soldiers under the cloak of immunity in every part of the world.

The international society should not at all tolerate the inhumane acts of infringing on the human rights committed by the U.S. and the Western countries, and definitely put them in the dock of human rights court.

All human rights crimes in the world will dissapear if and when the acts of infringing on the human rights by the U.S. and the Western countries are terminated – this is the world public sentiment
