 Report of KFA UK Online Meeting to Denounce and Oppose the US and south Korean War exercises  13.03.2021.

The UK Korean Friendship Association held an online meeting on the 13th of March at 1600 hours to oppose and denounce the US and south Korean war exercises  . The meeting was participated in by UK KFA members from London , Liverpool, Stoke On Trent  and other parts of the country  , also by the British branch of the Communist Party of Italy  . Written contributions were sent to the meeting by a KFA UK member overseas and by the head of the Brazilian Centre for the Study of Songun Politics . 

  The contribution of the head of the Brazilian Centre for Songun Politics read in part  ‘ Since the 1990s, the intensity and frequency of such maneuvers of aggression against the Democratic People's Republic of Korea has increased worryingly. The quality of armaments that are used in a "hypothetical invasion of the North" has also increased in recent years, with the use of technology and nuclear weapons.

Fortunately, the DPRK's ability to respond in recent years has increased far more than its enemies' ability to attack. It is common knowledge that today the DPRK is a powerful nuclear state equipped with modern war devices and missiles capable of shaking the earth from which injustices emanate.’

 A statement sent by a KFA UK member in Hong Kong  pointed out that ‘The American’s dropped 635,000 tons of ordnance onto the DPRK during the 3 year Fatherland Liberation War, more than they dropped during the entire Pacific Campaign of World War II, on a nation barely the size of Pensylvania. They killed 15% of the population. To those commentators, both domestic and overseas who are oh so keen to dismiss any inconvenient truth regarding People’s Korea and the brutalisation it suffered at the hands of American imperial ambition, may I present to them words from the horse's mouth. The proverbial horse in this instance being General O'Donnell, commander of the Far Eastern Air Force Bomber Command during the Fatherland Liberation War, who in June of 1951, a mere 10 months into the 37 month conflict proudly proclaimed: "Oh, yes; I would say that the entire, almost the entire Korean Peninsula is just a terrible mess. Everything is destroyed. There is nothing standing worthy of the name. There were no more targets in Korea." This apocalyptic devastation is the true face of American Imperialism, and these exercises are a clear demonstration that American bloodlust has yet to be quenched.

People’s Korea continues to remain an ever-bright flame of hope and dignity to all the oppressed people’s of East Asia and across the world, and it will take far more than the annual chest beating of a rapidly collapsing foreign power to ever extinguish that flame. Long live the DPRK, long live the free Korean People’s, and long live the Juche idea.’

 In his speech the representative of the British Branch of the Communist Party of Italy stated that ‘ "On behalf of the British branch of the Communist Party of Italy, we thank the Korean Friendship Association for organizing this important event and having us here. We must breach the wall of lies about People's Korea built by Imperialism through its media. This is important, not only for Korean people, but also for the working class worldwide: the more we are able to tell the truth about real life, the achievements and the culture of People's Korea, the greater and the stronger will be the trust of the of other countries' working class in the possibility of overthrow Capitalism. We join our voice with KFA in condemning war games and US aggressive policies in Korean Peninsula, which are being carried on under the Biden administration. Our party had foreseen , before US elections, that nothing would have changed regardless to the winner, nor in domestic neither in foreign policy. Biden is confirming our prediction day by day. Hopefully more and more people will realize the true nature of the left wing of Imperialism and will step away from it. I conclude saying that we should never get tired of repeating that People's Korea just wants to live in peace, develop its socialist society and it is not a threat for any other country in the world.

Dr Dermot Hudson  denounced the US-south Korean military exercises saying that ‘ The US and south Korea try to justify the war games on the grounds that they are ‘annual ‘ ones and that they are defensive . This is nonsense . They can be compared to fire drills at a workplace . Fire drills are not held just to annoy staff or for entertainment but  to prepare for the eventuality that one day there could be a real fire .Similarly military exercises are held to prepare for the outbreak of an actual war otherwise  there would be no point in holding them .

The US and south Korean war games are aiming at preparing to stifle People’s Korea by force and to overthrow the socialist system in the DPRK and make the DPRK a colony of imperialism . The DPRK is a thorn in the flesh of US and world imperialism . People ‘s Korea is an example to the people of the world as it upholds socialism and gives its people not only full employment but free health care, free education and virtually free housing . We must defend People’s Korea from the aggression of imperialism  and regime change machinations.

What the holding of the war games proves is that the hostile policy of the US towards the DPRK remains unchanged and that the Biden administration is determined to stifle People's Korea by force .”

A member of KFA Liverpool strongly denounced the exercises saying that they were basically intimidatory.

Staffordshire KFA said ‘ Greetings from Staffordshire KFA. Stop The War Games. Peace In Korea. Korea Is One!

A Resolution which called for an immediate stop to the war games was adopted.
