The Association for the Study of Songun Politics ,the Juche Idea Study Group of England , the UK Korean Friendship Association (UK KFA ) and the British Solidarity Committee for Peace and Reunification (BSCPRKP) issued the following joint statement on the occasion of the 1st anniversary of the September 18th inter-Korean summit and joint declaration;
On the 18th of September 2018 the supreme leader respected Marshal KIM JONG UN held the 5th inter-Korean summit with the south Korean chief executive Moon Jae In in Pyongyang . The summit saw many deeply emotional and stirring events such as the visit of Moon Jae In to the sacred mountain of Mt Paektu.
The September Joint Declaration was signed which committed both sides to reduce tension by not holding military exercises and to work together for the peace ,prosperity and reunification . The September Joint Declaration was a big step forward on the road towards a lasting peace and to reunification .
Unfortunately the south Korean side has not implemented its commitments it agreed to in the declaration. Instead they have severely undermined the peace process by holding military exercises with the US as well as importing advanced military equipment . Shame on them !
Our organisations urge south Korea to abide by the terms agreed to in the September Joint Declaration.
