UK KFA Slams FCO Interference and upholds independent right of the DPRK to test missiles

7th of August 2019
  The UK Korean Friendship Association(UK KFA) issued a statement concerning the recent statement of the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office(FCO) about the DPRK's missile tests which was issued on the 6th of August;
  The UK FCO  issued a statement saying that ' We are deeply concerned by the repeated launches of ballistic missiles by North Korea, most recently on 5 August...etc'  and claimed that the recent missile tests of the DPRK were in breach of UN Security Council(UNSC) resolutions,. The UK FCO needs to know that the DPRK explicitly rejects the 'resolutions' of the UNSC which are illegal and therefore cannot be bound by them .
  Moreover there is no need for the FCO to be concern itself about missile launches in the DPRK a country thousands of miles from the shores of the UK . The missile tests do not target the UK . We find it  hard to understand why the FCO is troubling itself over this matter. It is the independent right of the DPRK to exercise self-defence and carry out missile tests as part of measures for self-defence.
  We notice that the FCO are completely silent on the fact that the US and south Korea are carrying out military exercises in south Korea  which are in breach of the DPRK-US joint statement of June 12th and the inter-Korean agreements of 2018. The UK FCO is displaying a very one-sided and partial attitude in not condemning the US and south Korea but condemning the DPRK's response to the military exercises which is a mere self-defensive measure.
   The UK actually spends billions of pounds on Trident and other weapons , therefore is in no position to criticise the DPRK .
   The UK FCO also tries to demand that the DPRK engages in 'meaningful discussions ' with the US over 'denuclearistion' . Again, it is the independent right of the DPRK whether it engages in dialogue with the US or not , it is not for the UK FCO to decide. At present dialogue between the DPRK and US is not possible because the US is carrying out military exercises threatening the DPRK .
  The FCO really must end its interference in the DPRK's affairs and stop acting on behalf of another country. Instead an independent policy towards the DPRK based on mutual benefit and co-operation should be pursued !
FCO , HANDS OFF THE DPRK !
