CPRK Warns U.S., S. Korean Authorities to Stop Projected Joint Military Exercises

  Pyongyang, January 15 (KCNA) -- The spokesman for the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of Korea (CPRK) issued the following statement Wednesday:

Kim Jong Un in his historic New Year Address clarified the principled and sincere stand to ease tension and ensure peace on the Korean Peninsula and improve the north-south relations.
    The address has commanded support and aroused sympathy from all Koreans and other people around the world. The public at home and abroad are hoping the situation on the Korean Peninsula is eased and the north-south ties are improved to open a new phase for reconciliation, peace and reunification.
    But ill-boding provocative remarks are heard from south Korea from the outset of the New Year and powder-reeking war exercises are being waged, vitiating the hope-filled atmosphere at the beginning of the new year.
    Despite the unanimous denunciation by the public at home and abroad, it was openly announced that huge Key Resolve and Foal Eagle joint military exercises will be staged for months from the end of February. This has created such a deplorable situation in which huge aggression troops of the U.S. are deployed in areas close to the Military Demarcation Line.
    The projected military exercises will reportedly activate huge transport planes, landing ships, high-speed landing boats, surface-effect ship and landing armored vehicles of the U.S. and the puppet army of south Korea as well as huge marine and air war means. To be involved in the drills are ill-famed U.S. third marine task force from Okinawa which will wage the second biggest landing drill after the 1989 Team Spirit joint military exercises.
    The U.S. and puppet warmongers are claiming that the purpose of the drill is to take control of nuclear facilities in the north and occupy Pyongyang in case of "emergency in the north"
    This is another serious military provocation against the DPRK and an outright challenge to the good faith of the DPRK and the public opinion at home and abroad.
    We take special note of the fact that the announcement of the saber-rattling is timed to coincide with the new year press conference given by the chief executive of south Korea.
    Outwardly, south Korea welcomed the New Year Address and said that it hopes for opening the first button through the reunions of separated families and relatives, providing a fresh occasion and shaping the framework for mending the south-north ties. But behind the scene it is planning to wage war exercises against its fellow countrymen. How can this be understood?
    The prevailing situation proves that the south Korean chief executive made a lie and has an axe to grind.
    The north-south ties have suffered greatly from the war drills that were repeatedly held in south Korea every year.
    By straining the situation through such war drills as Key Resolve, Foal Eagle and Ulji Freedom Guardian from the outset of each year, they wasted away time, preventing anything favorable for improving the north-south ties from being achieved.
    This is the history of the north-south ties.
    What was gained were only escalated tension, increased danger of a war and stalemate in the north-south ties and extreme discord, antagonism and hostility between the fellow countrymen.
    Such an evil cycle can never be allowed to go on any longer.
    The present situation shows who truly stands for detente and peace on the Korean Peninsula and who pursues confrontation and war and who is a hypocrite, provoker standing in the way of improving the north-south relations.
    The puppet forces are making extremely serious provocation like the DPRK-targeted war exercises together with outsiders. Yet, they are talking about "provocation" by someone. This is like a guilty party filing a suit first.
    The U.S. and the puppet group, much upset by the disclosure of their bellicose nature and increasing voices of criticism, are claiming that those are "annual exercises for defense". But they should know that such deceptive and shameless sophism will never work on anyone.
    The recent announcement of the huge DPRK-targeted war drills by the U.S. and puppet warmongers is a total denial of the improvement of the north-south ties and dialogue and is little short of the declaration of a total nuclear stand-off.
    We sternly warn the U.S. and the south Korean authorities to stop the dangerous military exercises which may push the situation on the peninsula and the north-south ties to a catastrophe.
    They should clearly understand that the north-south ties will plunge into a deadlock and unimaginable holocaust and that disaster will follow should they go ahead with the nuclear war drills and make military provocation, defying our warning. -0-

Rodong Sinmun Exposes Reactionary Nature of Western-Style "Democracy

 Pyongyang, January 15 (KCNA) -- Western-style "democracy" is the most reactionary and unpopular politics mercilessly trampling down the aspiration and demand of the popular masses for freedom and democracy, says Rodong Sinmun Wednesday in an article.
    "Democracy" touted by the U.S. is the slogan for aggression and interference to realize its ambition for dominating the world, the article says, and goes on:
    Those keen on violating the sovereignty of other countries at random under the pretext of protecting the "freedom of individual character" are criminals who stamp out the basic right and freedom of the popular masses.
    Bombs are exploding and people killed in streets almost every day in Iraq, which the U.S. is putting forward as an "example of democracy". Iraq has turned into a theatre of destruction, plunder and massacre. This goes to clearly prove the true appearance of "freedom" and "democracy" the U.S. is trying hard to impose on other countries.
    The U.S. is regarding it as one of the major goals of its foreign policy to promote "freedom and democracy" in different parts of the world. It is considering that it is natural for all the members of the international community to follow its political mode.
    It is forcing other countries and nations to follow the Western-style political mode and order of life and accept them. This is nothing but a high-handed practice to deprive the people of other countries of the right of choosing idea and ism and it is also little short of denying and violating democracy itself.
    The U.S. persists in imposing "color revolution" on other countries. This is aimed to create uneasiness in relevant countries, quench social harmony and, in the long run, destroy all the achievements made by the people.
    To oppose Western-style "democracy" is an important issue to defend the sovereignty and dignity of the countries and nations and ensure true democracy. -0-

The Association for the Study of Songun Politics UK and Juche Idea Study Group of England issued the following joint statement to mark the 55th anniversary of the foundation of the Worker-Peasant Red Guard of the DPRK;
                    It is 55 years since the Worker-Peasant Red Guards , the militant  revolutionary  Juche-orientated  popular militia force of the Workers' Party of Korea, came into being .  On the 14th January 1959 the great leader generalissimo Kim Il Sung founded the Worker-Peasant Red Guard .
       The Worker-Peasant Red Guards, inherited  the tradition of the anti-Japanese armed struggle. It is an embodiment of the idea of the all people in- depth defence system. The WPRG are organised  at factories, industrial enterprises, farms and localities.


The working people of the DPRK are very aware  of the truth that they themselves should defend their Republic, the cradle of happiness and Juche paradise, with arms in their hands, the Korean people grasped the idea of arms and Juche-oriented method of war of the Workers' Party of Korea and trained themselves to acquire marksmanship of never missing the target, though they found their days so full with production and construction, holding aloft the militant slogan "Rifle in one hand and hammer or sickle in the other!"
                               
Throughout its history , the Worker-Peasant Red Guards have smashed at every step the US imperialists moves to  reckless moves to unleash a new war and laid a solid foundation for the building of a prosperous and powerful nation in the flames of creation and innovation in revolutionary soldier spirit, standing side by side with the People's Army for defence of independence and socialism.
                                       The great leader generalissimo Kim Il Sung and the great leader generalissimo Kim Jong Il paid great attention to building up the Worker-Peasant Red Guard  into a powerful revolutionary militia force. Now the people's defence forces of Korea are giving fuller scope to the might of the DPRK as a military power. The Worker-Peasant Red Guard of the DPRK are a fine example of anti-imperialist popular militia force and a proletarian fighting force which is an inspiration to the revolutionary peoples of the world.

Dear respected leader  Marshal Kim Jong Un wrote;
"The Worker-Peasant Red Guards should enhance their combat capabilities through intensive combat and political training and reliably defend their respective provinces, counties and villages in time of emergency."

                                             Today the Worker-Peasant Red Guards, under the command of dear respected Marshal Kim Jong Un, an ever-victorious iron willed brilliant commander,  stand ready to defend their homes and workplaces from US imperialist attack and are ready to annihilate the Yankee imperialists  at one go   !

Worker-Peasant Red Guards, Powerful Militia of WPK

   
Pyongyang, January 14 (KCNA) -- 55 years have passed since the founding of the Worker-Peasant Red Guards, a powerful militia of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK).
    The Worker-Peasant Red Guards, founded by President

Kim Il Sung on Jan. 14, Juche 48 (1959), is a non-standing military force. It plays the role of the Korean People's Army's wing, which is to defend the home front in cooperation with the KPA or independently from the enemy's attack in the event of emergency while conducting socialist construction in peacetime.
    The Red Guards, involving workers, peasants, working intellectuals and all other civilians, has performed admirable feats in socialist construction and defence of the country and in the showdown with the U.S.-led imperialists.
    Deeply aware of the truth that the country should be defended with arms, the civilians of the DPRK have striven to grasp the idea of giving priority to arms and the Juche-based war tactics of the WPK and improve their marksmanship under the slogan of "Rifle in one hand and hammer or sickle in the other!", though they have been busy with production and construction. They, together with the KPA, smashed the enemies' every move for a war, laying solid foundations for building a thriving nation during the Arduous March, the forced march.
    The Worker-Peasant Red Guards developed into invincible force commanded by leader Kim Jong Il with strong military discipline. Its might was clearly displayed through the military parades celebrating the 60th, 63rd and 65th anniversaries of the DPRK and on other occasions.
    It is now growing stronger as a Juche-based militia under the guidance of Kim Jong Un, supreme commander of the Korean People's Army. -0

The ASSPUK, Juche Idea Study Group of England and UK Korean Friendship Association today issued a joint statement denouncing the latest moves by the US imperialists to increase their armed forces ;

   We denounce the recent measures taken by the US imperialists to increase their military hardware and troops in south Korea. We note the following two instances of this , firstly  the 7th Air Force Command of the U.S. imperialist aggressor forces in south Korea Saturday announced that it would deploy in south Korea F-16s from its Air Force base in Utah State  on the US mainland .Some 300 extra US personnel will be deployed. Secondly, the US will introduce into south Korea their motorized battalion armed with the updated tanks and armoured cars and others under the pretext of deploying forces on a rotating basis.
    The battalion was withdrawn to the U.S. mainland from Iraq. It will be reportedly introduced into south Korea and deployed in the northern part of Kyonggi Province to belong to the 1st Brigade of the 2nd Division of the U.S. forces. The U.S. forces are contemplating increasing armed forces in the area along the Military Demarcation Line and deploying new weapons there.

This shows that the US imperialists are building up their armed forces in south Korea ready to launch a pre-emptive attack to invade and stifle the DPRK . Such moves are dangerous which could bring nuclear disaster to the Korean peninsula and to east Asia.

We demand the US cancels these plans to increase their weaponry and troops in south Korea and withdraw their forces from south Korea forthwith !

Rodong Sinmun Denounces Washington's Wild Dream to Dominate World

Pyongyang, January 13 (KCNA) -- The U.S. announced that it would deploy a Global Hawk in Japan to tighten watch on the DPRK and other countries.
    Meanwhile, the U.S. Senate passed a package bill on defense budget for fiscal 2014 involving the cost for setting up a high-performance radar system in Japan.
    Rodong Sinmun Monday in a commentary says in this regard:
    The planned deployment clearly indicates that Washington has not yet rolled back its hostile policy toward the DPRK but has zealously pushed forward it to a reckless phase of implementation.
    Lurking behind the projected deployment of an unmanned spy plane in Japan near the Korean peninsula is an ulterior design of Washington to realize its wild ambition for dominating the world at any cost by beefing up its military force in the Asia-Pacific region.
    The ruling quarters of the U.S. are concentrating huge forces of aggression in the Asia-Pacific region after mapping out a pivot-to-Asia-Pacific defense strategy.
    The U.S. is scheming to make a justification for carrying out its strategy for aggression by escalating confrontation with the DPRK and rendering the situation extremely tense.
    The U.S. has, in actuality, deployed nuclear strike means en masse in its mainland and Japan, on Guam and Hawaii, etc. It is now watching for a chance to ignite a war at any moment.
    Many countries are expressing concerns over the acute situation in the Asia-Pacific region and the escalating tension in Northeast Asia, in particular, hoping for peace and security.
    The U.S. wild ambition to dominate the world is an anachronistic wild dream swimming against the trend of the times.
    Washington would be well advised to abandon its foolish attempt. -0
