Judgment on Lee Myung Bak

South Korean peoples wrath and indignation against the anti-popular and anti-national governance of Lee Myung Bak are soaring high. In reflection of the public sentiment, the south Korean newspapers, broadcasts and websites carry articles, cartoons and video clips.

Wok

The Joong-Ang Ilbo online newspaper carried an article on a wok related with successive
presidents. It reads: Syngman Rhee bought a wok by getting a loan from the US, Park Chung
Hee cooked in the wok rice he had farmed, Choi Kyu-hah tried to open its lid to eat the cooked
rice but only burned his hand, Chun Doo Hwan ate it all, and Roh Tae Woo ate the scorched part
of the rice even by steeping it. Kim Young Sam scraped the bottom of the wok to see if there was
anything left and, when a hole was made in it, he exchanged the wok for toffee. Lee Myung Bak
tried to repair the electric cooker his predecessor had bought by borrowing money from this and
that countries, putting it on a fire and fanning the fire enthusiastically, only to break it up
completely.

This article makes a mockery of Lee Myung Bak¡Çs attempt for ¡Economic recovery. When canvassing for the presidential election, Lee made a commitment of ¡È747,¡É as if he would revitalize the economy. The south Korean people say that it has now become a commitment for 447 with the unemployed numbering 4 million, national debt reaching 400 trillion won and total debt of individuals amounting to 700 trillion won. Towards the end of 2009, a website operated by women organized an election for the candidate of the ¡Mouth most wanted to stitch up, the mouth which spits the most hated words and the greatest lies; the result showed that Lee Myung Bak s mouth was the first candidate.

Bulldozer

Some south Korean publications carried a cartoon of Lee Myung Bak in Nazi uniform and with the Hitler-style moustache driving a bulldozer madly.

Throwing off the veil of ¡Democracy¡É after seizing power, Lee Myung Bak reinforced the
police and gave them a green light to reuse electric clubs, water cannons and other means of
suppression handed down from the preceding dictatorial regimes. In 2008 large-scale candlelight
rallies against the import of American beef met with a brutal crackdown. So did the campaigns
of various circles calling for revision of trade union law, stabilization of rice price and annulment of the Free Trade Agreement between south Korea and the US.

Campaigners dub the Lee regime as a resurgence of the spectre of dictatorship, denouncing
that Lee¡Çs is cannibal politics and terror politics laden with brutality and desperation. From late
May to early July 2011, more than 400 campaigns were staged against the present regime, with
the attendance of 600 000 people from a total of 1 300 organizations.

Golf Cart Driver

Lee Myung Bak was nicknamed ¡Golf cart driver¡É after his trip to the US in April 2008, his
first foreign visit following his assumption of power, for having served the then US President
Bush by driving the latter¡Çs golf cart at Camp David.

Upon taking office Lee had permitted the import of American beef running the risk of spreading mad cow disease, which gave rise to massive candlelight rallies throughout south Korea. Posted on Internet homepages from south Korea were cartoons portraying Lee kowtowing to his American master and ads introducing his regime as a south Korean agency of the imaginary Mad Cow Co., Ltd. headquartered in the US. Even on the homepages of the Blue House and the ruling Grand National Party were found articles, ridiculing Lee, ¡You have craved for cheap, high-quality beef, and we wish that you will relish American beef at every meal during your five-year term

Commenting on Lee currying favour with his American master and making two bows to the Japanese emperor, the south Korean media described him as a lapdog servile to the US and courteous to Japan, and therefore a good-for-nothing for the nation.

Lame Duck

A south Korean weekly magazine carried a cartoon titled For You, Duck Is Better than
Chicken, in which a representative of the Grand National Party offers a lame duck (the emblem
of Lee approaching his Waterloo) to the ruler who is devouring K chicken(a symbol of
corruption).

The purport of the cartoon is that the incumbent ruler is despised even within his ruling party.

A former representative of the Grand National Party declared that he is no longer a follower
of Lee, adding that now it is not the time for people to follow the ¡President¡É only. Even
National Assemblymen from the ruling party blame Lee of clinging to his flawed policy,
demanding alteration of policy by the party s leading role. In particular they lambaste Lee for
freezing inter-Korean relations, calling for flexibility on the part of the government and
Breakthrough in the deadlock.

Lee Myung Bak is driven into a tighter corner by the disclosure of his speculation in real
estate and the detainment or investigation of his aides and relatives on charges of bribery and
embezzlement.

The south Korean media assert that Lee should be put on public trial, noting that the present
regime smells nasty and it has gotten what it deserves.

S. Korean Newspaper on Political Impact, Economic Efficiency of Kwangmyongsong-3

Pyongyang, March 22 (KCNA) -- Thongil News, an internet paper of south Korea, Tuesday carried an article titled "Political impact and economic efficiency of 'Kwangmyongsong-3'".

The article said:

The Korean Committee for Space Technology in a statement of its spokesman on March 16 announced that the DPRK will launch a working satellite, Kwangmyongsong-3, manufactured by itself with indigenous technology to mark the 100th birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung. It also said the satellite will be blasted off from the Sohae Satellite Launching Station in Cholsan County, North Phyongan Province between April 12 and 16.

The announcement immediately caught the world attention.

Hankuk Ilbo said the north informed the U.S. State Department of the plan of the announcement of the satellite launch before releasing it.

A spokesperson for the U.S. State Department in a regular briefing on March 16 admitted the earlier contact between the DPRK and the U.S., saying that the New York channel went operational in the later hours on March 15 and the U.S. obviously conveyed the meaning of the satellite launch.

The north side is of the stand that the planned launch is not contrary to the North-U.S. agreement.

Choson Sinbo, a Tokyo-based newspaper run by Koreans in Japan, said:

According to the DPRK's plan, it is inevitable for it to launch earth observation satellite, a working satellite that would contribute to the economic development of the country, to mark the Day of the Sun in 2012 as the next stage of an experimental communications satellite that was launched in 2009. It was clear that the satellite launch plan had been promoted from years ago. It is the north's stand that moratorium on long-range missile launch and the satellite launch are separate issues.

Conventional Satellite: Equipment Essential for the DPRK's Economy

Han Ho Sok, director of the Institute of Reunification, in an article titled "'Kwangmyongsong-3' is a satellite with transparency" quoted a statement of a spokesman for the Korean Committee for Space Technology on February 24, 2009 as saying, "Under the long-term national plan for space development, we look forward to launching working satellites for communications, resources prospecting, weather forecast, etc. crucial for the economic development of the country in years to come in the first phase and normalizing their operations."

Chosun Sinbo on March 16, 2012 said that "Kwangmyongsong-3" to be launched by the north is a polar-orbiting earth observation satellite.

The weather satellite is urgently needed for getting awakened of the approach of summer typhoon and getting prepared for regional precipitation and torrential downpour. In particular, the weather information based on close photographing is essential to the north which made the increase of agricultural production a priority of the state.

Lately the Korean Peninsula has suffered from flood owing to the torrential downpour in summer. The north has suffered from flood every year. It is true that this reduced the agricultural output and adversely affected various fields of the north's economy.

The north authorities will naturally seek to get rich analysis of the images of approaching weather in the vicinity of the Korean Peninsula to increase the accuracy of the weather forecast.

Political Advantage of DPRK's Launch of Working Satellite

As the DPRK is expected to start launching a working satellite, now is the time to consider the effectiveness of not only a rocket but a satellite. As a matter of fact, from the viewpoint of the DPRK, the system for putting a satellite into space made its debut in 2009 but what is noteworthy of the forthcoming launch is that a working satellite will be launched.

If Kwangmyongsong-3 which the DPRK is supposed to launch is a polar-orbiting meteorological satellite, it is the one for peaceful purposes. To acquire systematic weather information to protect agriculture and key industries from typhoon, torrential rain and draught is a work for a peaceful purpose for improving the living standard of the people in the DPRK. It, therefore, may not result in disturbing the stability in Northeast Asia but contributing to its peace and prosperity.

It is not persuasive to claim that the north does not require a meteorological satellite though it must be in the south for stabilizing the people's life. As is the case with the south, the U.S. and Japan, the people in the north should do farming, catch fishes in seas and there is no other option for them to sensitively react to the weather conditions.

If the projected launch of Kwangmyongsong-3 is a meteorological satellite as it was mentioned by the north in 2009, this will help the people in the north to escape from flood disasters and obtain systematic information about precipitation and thus increase agricultural production. -0-

The only tax free country in the world: North Korea!

DPRK Will Regard Any Provocation as Declaration of War: KCNA

Pyongyang, March 21 (KCNA) -- The Korean nation has ardently wished to see the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula at an early date as it has been exposed to a more direct nuclear threat for such a long period than any other nation in the world.

However, this ardent desire and wish are facing a new grave challenge due to the Lee Myung Bak group of traitors' policy of confrontation with the DPRK and moves to provoke a nuclear war.

The south Korean puppet authorities are getting evermore undisguised in their moves to turn "the nuclear security summit" to be held in Seoul into a confab on a nuclear racket against the DPRK.

Coming to the surface is their attempt to put the "nuclear issue in the north" on the agenda of the summit in the wake of such reckless remarks that "the summit is of particularly weighty significance for south Korea being exposed to a nuclear threat" and "it is the first process for building a world free from nukes."

Lee Myung Bak on March 19 let loose sheer sophism that "the summit may play a big role in expanding the international community's support for the denuclearization of the north," disclosing his ulterior motive.

Kim Song Hwan, puppet minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Rim Song Nam, puppet chief delegate to the six-party talks, and others who are responsible for discussing the issue of the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula are floating wild rumors that "there may be speeches on the north's nuclear issue," "written statements may be presented" and "there may be a message urging the north to scrap nuclear substance" at the summit.

Also heard from the conservative media are outbursts echoing the puppet authorities' claims that "the nuclear issue of the north is likely to be addressed in depth" and "the parties concerned to the six-party talks will address the nuclear issue of the north in an intensive manner."

Worse still, even an idea of working out a draft "Seoul communique" on the premise of "nuclear threat from the north" is high on the agenda.

This clearly testifies to the fact that the Lee Myung Bak group of traitors is set to use the forthcoming international forum as a lever for confrontation with the DPRK by availing itself of its position as a host.

The Seoul "nuclear security summit" is a continuation and extension of the group's frantic anti-DPRK nuclear racket. The DPRK has already clarified its principle stand over this issue and made it clear that international norms are strictly observed in storing and managing nuclear substance.

What should be stated emphatically is that the issue of the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula is that of denuclearizing the whole peninsula. Accordingly, "the north's nuclear issue" has never existed, in fact, and there is no justification to bring it up for discussion at the summit.

The Lee group's persistent efforts to place "the north's nuclear issue" on the agenda of the Seoul "summit" are nothing but a revelation of its sinister attempt to justify its moves for a nuclear war against the DPRK and a curtain-raiser to the worldwide politically-motivated farce to divert elsewhere public criticism of it and escape a miserable defeat in the forthcoming "election."

It is a ridiculous attempt and an absolutely unpardonable criminal act for Lee Myung Bak, traitor for all ages, to bring someone's "nuclear issue" up for discussion. The Lee group is foolish enough to use the "summit" as a card for justifying its military threat and moves for a nuclear war against the DPRK.

Crying out for "coping with the north's possible terrorism by biological weapons and its attack to disturb GPS", the group had already staged such war drills as "combined protection drills of civilians, officials, military and police forces" and "combined drill to combat terrorism".

Kim Kwan Jin, puppet minister of Defense, even issued an order "to shower a ten-fold retaliatory fire" in case the north provokes. He cried out for "retaliating against the north till its full surrender in the spirit of taking revenge upon it for the sunken 'Cheonan' warship and the Yonphyong Island shelling case."

Jong Sung Jo, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, also issued an order to "take prompt strong retaliatory strikes." He said the north should be forced to "deeply regret for its action".

The Lee group is keen to use the "summit" as a curtain-raiser to its nuclear war against the DPRK.

The DPRK cannot but take a serious note of this fact.

No one can vouch that Lee would not use the "summit" for achieving his sinister aim as he left no means untried to bedevil the inter-Korean relations in the past.

This is proved by the group which behaved so meanly in the wake of the DPRK's announcement that it would launch satellite Kwangmyongsong-3.

The group is making last-ditch efforts to deny even the DPRK's right to use space for peaceful purposes and infringe upon its sovereignty. This behavior suffices to guess how reckless it will go with this "summit" as an occasion.

The situation on the peninsula has reached an uncontrollably serious phase due to the group's thrice-cursed act of hurting the dignity of the supreme leadership of the DPRK.

No one can predict how the situation will deteriorate in the future.

In case "the north's nuclear issue" is placed on the agenda at the Seoul "summit" and such provocation as "issuing a statement" against the DPRK is perpetrated, this will be recorded in history as an intolerable insult to the wishes of the peerlessly great men of Mt. Paektu who left the denuclearization of the peninsula as their behests and as another thrice-cursed hideous crime.

It is a mockery of the public at home and abroad and shame on the world community to open the "summit" to discuss nuclear security in south Korea, the world's biggest nuclear arsenal.

To take part in Lee's indiscreet burlesque is as reckless an act as driving the situation on the peninsula to the worst phase and adding fuel to the flames.

Any provocation will amount to a declaration of a war against the DPRK and result in throwing a stumbling block in the way of discussing the denuclearization of the peninsula. -0-

Kim Il Sung′s Korea', Special Write-ups to Centenary of His Birth (5)Anti-Japanese Armed Struggle Based on Army-civilian Unity and Self-reliance

Pyongyang, March 20 (KCNA) -- The Korean People's Revolutionary Army (KPRA) led by President Kim Il Sung defeated the imperial Japanese army incomparably superior in numerical strength and military equipment. One of the secrets of its victory was the idea of army-civilian unity maintained in the struggle.

In those days activists for the national liberation movement in Korea failed to have confidence in the strength of its people, insisting on the existing theory on the national liberation in colonial countries and seeking to win the independence of the country with the backing of big powers.

However, Kim Il Sung was of the view that national sovereignty can be won and defended only by the nation's own efforts and, on the basis of this view he founded the KPRA relying on the popular masses with a strong sense of patriotism.

The excellent trait of army-civilian unity, created by him for the first time in history, made the KPRA emerge victorious in every battle with the enemies though it had neither state-backing home front nor other country's assistance.

"As fish cannot live without water, so guerrillas cannot live without the people." This was the way of the KPRA's existence and principle of its activities set by him.

There are many touching stories about the army-civilian unity created during the anti-Japanese armed struggle.

Among them are a story "Commander is also a son of the people" and a story about the KPRA returning cattle granted by inhabitants with sincerity. The members of the KPRA regarded it as their life and soul to protect people's life and property.

When the guerrillas infringed upon the interests of people, the President strictly reproached them, saying if they did not respect the people they would turn their faces away from them and that winning over the people was the most important thing for them.

The "KPRA Provisional Rules and Regulations" he personally worked out in December Juche 25 (1936) represented the character of the guerrilla army giving top priority to the people's interests.

Deeply moved by the character, they sincerely assisted the KPRA, not wavered by any sorts of the enemy's allurement and deception.

In the mid-1930s, the Japanese imperialists built concentration villages everywhere in a bid to block the people from access to the guerrilla army.

But, in the teeth of their repression, people provided the guerrillas with food and clothes, with the belief that assisting them was the only way for liberating Korea,

Meanwhile, President Kim Il Sung had considered the spirit of self-reliance to be one of factors for victory in fighting the Japanese imperialists.

At that time, the guerrilla army always lacked weapons, munitions and other supplies.

Inspired by his spirit of self-reliance, the guerrillas armed themselves with their own efforts, repaired weapons and manufactured bombs, called "Yanji bomb", by themselves.

With needles made with a file, they did not stop operating sewing machines, finishing the production of some 600 uniforms in time.

Carrying forward the army-civilian unity and the spirit of self-reliance, displayed in the days of the anti-Japanese armed struggle, the Korean people could defeat the U.S. imperialists in the Fatherland Liberation War (June 1950-July 1953).

By dint of the unity, the Korean people will always emerge victorious in their efforts for the prosperity of the country. -0-
