50 YEARS OF SONGUN REVOLUTIONARY LEADERSHIP

It is said that the first step of any journey is the most important and Korean people say that well began is half completed.The great leader comrade Kim Jong Il took the first step of the Songun revolutionary leadership on the 25th of August 1960 when he visted the historic Guard Ryu Kyong Su 105 Seoul Tank Divsion. This was the tank unit which liberated Seoul on the 28th of June 1950.The unit smashed down the walls of division,which had been erected by the US imperialists,shattering the domination and oppression of thedepraved and nefarious Yankee imperialists the Korean people’s sworn enemy.It is said that the tank is the central component of modern warfare,it combines operational mobility with tactical offensive and defensive capablities.Thus the visit of the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il to the tank unit had profound significance in several different ways.
This first step on the road of Songun revolutionary leadership explemified concept of Songun that miltary affairs should be put before political affairs.The Songun revolutionary leadership was a continuation in a higher form of the Juche revolutionary cause that had been pioneered by the great leader comrade Kim Il Sung.It marked the start of a new era in the Juche revolution.
This is the whole essence of Songun the guiding idea of the Korean and world revolutions and is an embodiment of the Juche idea.The idea of putting military affairs first came from the experience of the Korean revolution which can be summed up as Arms are the life and soul of the revolution.The Korean revolution can be said to have began in earnest when the great leader comrade Kim Il Sung was bequeathed 2 pistols by his late father Kim Hyong Jik.The Korean revolution advanced through arms during the 20 year long anti Japanese armed struggle and in the fiery crucible of the great victorious Fatherland Liberation War.
When the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il gave guidance to the Guard Ryu Kyong Su 105 Tank division US imperialism,the chieftain of world imperialism and main force of aggression and war was instensfiying its aggressive manoeuvres and domination all over the world.It had intervened in the Congo killing Patric Lumumba the Congo’s first leader.It carried out the Cold War against the socialist countries.In particular in turned its attention to Korea.It shipped in nuclear weapons into south Korea in the 1950s and reinforced its conventional armed forces there.It was inciting its puppets in south Korea to “march north” to attack the DPRK.
Imperialism had also penetrated the international communist movement in the form of modern revisionism.The modern revisionists caused splits and confusion.The socialist camp was split into two creating a dangerous situation.The modern revisionists compromised with the US imperialists and stifled the anti imperialist struggle,.Jabbering about ’peaceful co existence’ they embarked unilateral and one sided disarmament of the socialist camp. In 1962 Khruschov betrayed Cuba to the US imperialists.
Thus the need was for Korea strengthen and consolidate its self defence capablities a revolutionary line in opposition to both US imperialism and modern revisionism. The great leader President Kim Il Sung and the dear leader comrade Kim Jong Il knew that socialism could not be defended by just talking about “peaceful co existence” and other such flowery and effete phraselogy.The whole experience of the Korean revolution showed that the revolution was defended and advanced by the gun .Leader Kim Jong Il thus wisely took stock of the prevailing internal and international situation so gave on the spot guidance at the Seoul Guards Ryu Kyong Su 105 tank division,thus putting military affairs first fully encapsulating the truth of Songun and the experience of the Korean revolution.During
his guidance leader Kim Jong Il emphasised that ideological and political education must be instensfied as well combat training.

The Korean People’s Army was fortified ideologically and politically. It was built up as the army of the leader,party and working class.As the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il said
“The People’s Army is the revolutionary armed force of the Workers Party of Korea and its mission is to defend with arms the revolutionary cause of our party”

It was also built into a strong army ,a revolutionary army of Mt Paektu fully inheriting the traditions of the anti Japanese armed struggle. It became an army in which each of its soldiers was a match for a hundred enemy soldiers(though the anti party revisionists tried to oppose the revolutionary slogan “ a match for a hundred”).
Leader Kim Jong Il taught as follows

“We must must inspire the entire Party membership and working people and soldiers of the People’s Army with a firm conviction of victory and dauntless fighting spirit so that if the enemy assaults us we shall rise as one as smite the aggressors violently for the honour of Juche Korea under the direction of the leader”.
Under the Songun based revolutionary leadership of leader Kim Jong Il the KPA and Korean people smited US imperialism with full force.In January 1968 the USS Pueblo an armed spy pirate ship of the US imperialist aggressors was captured by the KPA navy off Wonsan(the Pueblo can be seen today on the bank of the river Taedong).The US imperialists demanded the immediate return the ship falsely claiming that it was in “international waters” and the cowardly revisionists tried to advise the DPRK to send the ship and its crew back.
The great leader comrade Kim Jong Il said
"Nowadays people of a certain country are saying that if a war breaks out in Korea it will be serious problem,and “advising us” it would be better to have the Pueblo quietly released.This would mean making a concession to US imperialism,and we can never do such a thing.A concession to US imperialism means submission and surrender.Since the our People’s Arm“Ny did not capture the “Pueblo” on the sea off the United States,but when it was in violation of our country’s territorial waters and engaged in in acts of espionage,we need to neither make any concession to the Americans or pander to them”

The DPRK resolutely stood firm and refused to do so until an apolegy from the US was issued

In 1969 the US imperialist spy plane EC121 tried to infiltrate into DPRK but was shot down by the KPA airforce.In 1994 a US army helicopter infiltrated into DPRK airspace and was brought down by one shot by the KPA.
The US imperialists seeked to isolate and stifle the DPRK by inventing the nuclear issue on the Korean peninsula leading to the 1st ‘Korean nuclear crisis’ in the 1990s and the 2nd one in the 2000s.The DPRK refused to bow down and instead declared a semi war state and announced its intention to withdraw from the one sided and inquitous NPT in 1993.This move stunned the US and they had to enter into talks.
When Bush vocificated about a “rogue state” and “axis of evil” and raked up the 2nd nuclear crisis the DPRK under the Songun supreme commander comrade Kim Jong Il responded with a series of hardline measures namely withdrawing completely from the NPT and declaring itself a nuclear state.This was not mere words,the DPRK succesfully carried out nuclear tests in October 2006 and May 2009.It nuclear device was the fruit of self reliance based 100% on Korean resources and technology.
Thus under the Songun revolutionary leadership the DPRK has been fortified ever more strongly as powerful socialist state of independence.A country of Juche which is able to do what it likes and say what it like no matter what others may say or think.Comrade Kim Jong Il brilliant commander of Songun declared on the 1st of January 1995,at the Takasbol army post that the Korean people had a choice of either being an independent people adhering to socialism or colonial slaves of imperialism.Thanks to the Songun revolutionary leadership of the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il the DPRK has been able to smash the unceasing pressure and moves of US and world imperialism to isolate and stifle the DPRK.The DPRK has carried proudly along the road of Juche defying the imperialists.The Songun revolutionary leadership has carried forward the Juche revolutionary cause and is propelling it ever onward to final victory.

Today the ASSPUK and JISGE issued a joint statement saluting the 50th anniversary of the start of the Songun revolutionary leadership,a landmark event in the history of the Songun revolution and the history of the Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea.
The Songun revolutionary leadership started on the 25th of August when the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il made an inspection of the Seoul Ryu Kyong Su 105 Guards Tank Division of the Korean People’s Army.This KPA unit itself had profound historical significance as was named after an anti Japanese revolutionary fighter who had also been a divisional commander in the Fatherland Liberation War.The tank divsion had liberated Seoul in the Fatherland Liberation War breaking throught the barrier of national division imposed by the US imperialists.
The guidance,of the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il to Seoul Ryu Kyong Su 105 tank division epitimotised the revolutionary Songun idea and spirit of putting military affairs first and politics second. Moreover it put forward the concept of the army as the pillar of the revolution.This brilliantly encapsulated the whole experience of the Korean revolution which began and advanced by the force of arms.
Leader Kim Jong Il strengthened the KPA ideologically and political as well increasing its combat strength.He ensured the KPA was modelled on the monolithic ideology of Juche and was an army of the leader.
The KPA and Korean people under the Songun revolutionary leadership achieving great feat in defending the country from the US imperialists.The KPA captured the USS Pueblo and brought down the US imperialist aggressor spy plane the EC121.They resolutely countered the US imperialist provocation at Panmumjom in 1976 and intercepted the Yankee helicopter that had intruded into DPRK airspace in 1994.
Thanks to the inspired Songun revolutionary leadership of the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il,fearless commander of Mt Paektu the DPRK faced down the US in the first and second 'nuclear crisis' in which the US imperialists and international reactionaries tried to stifle Korean style people centred socialism.
The brilliant Songun revolutionary leadership of the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il has energised the Korean revolution and building of socialism in the DPRK opening a new era of Juche revolution.
Now under the Songun revolutionary leadership of the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il a great upsurge in self reliant socialist construction is taking place with the succesful production of Juche vinalon and Juche iron and other great achievements.
The Songun revolutionary leadership is leading the Korean revolution and DPRK forward to victory and is carrying forward the Juche revolutionary cause pioneered by the great leader comrade Kim Il Sung.

STATEMENT OF THE STOKE ON TRENT BRANCH OF THE JUCHE IDEA STUDY GROUP OF BRITAIN ON THE OCCASION OF THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE START OF THE SONGUN REVOLUTIONARY LEADERSHIP

August 25th this year marks an extremely important anniversary in the annuals of the Korean Revolution. On 25th August 1960 KIM JONG IL gave guidance to the Ryu Kyong Seoul Guards Division of the Heroic Korean Peoples Army. This date is regarded as the beginning of the momentous Army-first or Songun Revolution. Over the past 50 years due to the creative policy of KIM JONG IL in emphasizing the role of the Korean Peoples Army as the main force of the Korean Revolution is the reason why Juche-orientated socialism has survived and triumphed in the DPRK.

The Stoke On Trent Branch of the Juche Idea Study Group takes this opportunity to congratulate the People and Army of the Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea upon this significant anniversary. We the Juche Idea adherents in Britain are confident that the Korean people will be victorious in this noble cause because they have the Brilliant Songun Revolutionary Leadership of General KIM JONG IL.

With Songun Politics at the head KIM JONG IL has defended and consoildated the revolutionary legacy of KIM IL SUNG. At the moments when the Korean Revolution faced the issue of its survival, KIM JONG IL'S

Songun Leadership ensured the continuity and renewel of Korean-style socialism. It was the Korean Peoples Army which played the decisive role as the main force in building socialism overcoming many difficult circumstances.

The Korean people are now advancing towards the goal of building a powerful and prosperous Socialist country by the year of 2012- the centenary of the birth of President KIM IL SUNG. This objective of constructing a rich and powerful socialist nation by the independent efforts of the Korean people themsleves are becoming realized by the Songun Politics of Chairman KIM JONG IL. Over the past few years the DPRK has attained many positive results in the endeavour to achieve the goal of creating a strong and proserous Juche-based country by 2012, as witnessed in the profound successes gained in the 150 Day campaign of 2009 in all areas of social-economic activities in the DPRK.

Many countries around have been the victims of pressure and interference by the allied forces of imperialism led by the United States and have finally succumded to the hegemonists of Washington DC. History has proven the keen wisdom of Songun Politics as put forward by KIM JONG IL. Chairman KIM JONG IL 's giving priority to military affairs during the DPRK's efforts to build socialism, have ensured the survival and consoildation of the independent socialist system of Peoples Korea.

Socialist Korea continually faces the prospect of invasion from the United States and south Korea on a daily basis. The United States military has stationed in south Korea about 1,000 combat troops and has roughly 1,000 nuclear weapons aimed at the DPRK. In March 1993 the US kicked up a ricket about "north Korean nuclear weapons development" and threaten the DPRK with stern sanctions and punitive strikes. KIM JONG IL in response to these US imperialist threats, declared a state of semi-war and mobilized

the all the army and people in defence of the DPRK. The United States abandoned its war plans and negotiated the Framework Argeement with the DPRK in October 1994. This is clear evidence that Songun Politics guarantees both the peace and security on the Korean peninsula and internationally. It was KIM JONG IL'S Songun Politics that led to the signing of the landmark north-south agreement of June 15th 2000, leading to the roadmap of Peace and Independent Reunification in Korea at long last.

These days the US imperialists and the Lee Myong Bak clique are running amok with their vicious plans to isolate and destroy Socialist Korea. The far right Lee Myong Bak group have cooked up as a justification for their aggressive actions the so-called "Cheonan incident". Just in the period of the months of July and August 2010 the US and its south Korean puppets have carried out large scale warlike military exercises such as "Uliji Freedom Guardian" and "Rimpact".

Songun Politics has equipped the Korean Peoples Army with the strength to deal with any enemy. The might of the KPA is based upon its strong revolutionary ideology, that is the Revolutionary Soldier Spirit. The Songun Politics of KIM JONG IL have turned the KPA into a superior fighting force with the development of the Korean Peoples deterrent weapons. The guns of the KPA are precisely the guns of the Korean Revolution, the weapons of the Working Class. The whole People and the entire Army of the DPRK are united as a one in the firm defence of Juche-based socialism united around their Leader.

South Korean puppet fascists arrest reunification champion Rev Han Sang Ryol

Pyongyang, August 21 (KCNA) -- The Lee Myung Bak group of traitors took such fascist action as arresting Rev. Han Sang Ryol, permanent adviser of the Solidarity for Progress of south Korea, on August 20 on the charge of violation of the notorious "National Security Law" after his visit to the DPRK, according to south Korean MBC and CBS. The fascist agents arrested him the moment he went back via Panmunjom. He is now questioned at the Phaju Police Station in Kyonggi Province. After branding his visit to the DPRK as "illegal," they are harshly suppressing him, questioning him who was behind to sponsor it. But Han is offering stubborn resistance against them. Lee Myung Bak Group's Fascist Suppression under Fire Pyongyang, August 22 (KCNA) -- The Lee Myung Bak group of traitors hurled dozens of puppet MPs and operatives of the "Ministry of Unification" and the intelligence service to the area of the south side in Panmunjom on August 20 to walk off Rev. Han Sang Ryol, reunification champion of south Korea, by taking his both arms the moment he crossed the demarcation line dividing Korea into the north and the south. All the activities conducted by him throughout his stay in the north can never be a crime under any circumstances as they were entirely just and praiseworthy ones for defending and implementing the north-south joint declaration and achieving reconciliation, unity and reunification of the nation, the statement said, and went on: Had the Lee Myung Bak group of traitors neither brought the inter-Korean relations to a collapse nor blocked the activities of reunification movement organizations nor pushed the situation to the brink of a war through such hideous anti-DPRK plots as the warship case and exercises for a war of aggression against the north, Rev. Han would not have taken the trouble of making a trip at the risk of his life. Rev. Han chanted at the top of his voice the slogan "Long live the attainment of reunification and peace in the spirit of By our nation itself," crossing the above-said line is the irresistible echo of the era. The Lee group should set free at once Rev. Han who had been thrown into behind bars at the point of bayonet and immediately stop the fascist suppression of the reunification movement organizations of people of various circles. All Koreans at home and abroad should turn out as one in the actions for seeking the release of pro-reunification patriotic personages including the unjustly arrested Rev. Han and holding in check the moves of the puppet group to escalate the confrontation with fellow countrymen. Fascist Suppression of Rev. Han Sang Ryol Flailed Pyongyang, August 22 (KCNA) -- The Overseas Side Committee for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration issued a statement on August 20 denouncing the Lee Myung Bak group of traitors for its fascist suppression of Rev. Han Sang Ryol, reunification champion of south Korea who visited the DPRK on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the June 15 joint declaration. His visit to the DPRK was fully supported by all the Koreans at home and abroad as it was a manifestation of his firm will to instill patriotism for reunification into the Koreans and give a steady continuity to the trend of independent reunification, and a quite just and righteous action to defend and implement the June 15 joint declaration and achieve national reconciliation and unity, the statement said, and went on: By arresting him the Lee Myung Bak regime self-exposed the anti-reunification nature of the authorities of the south side who persistently pursue division and confrontation against improved south-north relations and the peaceful reunification of the country, to say nothing of the implementation of the June 15 joint declaration. The Lee regime should stop suppressing Rev. Han and immediately set him free, the statement urged, declaring that they would resolutely foil the south side authorities' unwarranted moves to punish the reverend.

FM Speaks DPRK Has All Means and Methods to Defend Itself

Pyongyang, August 18 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the DPRK Foreign Ministry Wednesday gave the following answer to a question put by KCNA as regards the U.S-south Korea Ulji Freedom Guardian joint military exercises now under way in south Korea: The U.S. and the south Korean puppet authorities kicked off UFG, the largest-ever joint military exercises to attain an unprecedentedly belligerent goal, on August 16. The all-round joint military exercises being staged across south Korea in the wake of the provocative war maneuvers in the East and West Seas of Korea in less than one month are the dangerous military provocations to ignite a nuclear war on the Korean Peninsula at any cost. These war maneuvers are a wanton violation of the Armistice Agreement and diametrically run counter to the presidential statement of the UNSC dated July 9, 2010 which calls for settling the pending issues on the Korean Peninsula through dialogue and negotiations in a peaceful manner. Such ceaseless military provocations being perpetrated in utter disregard of the concern of the international community about the tensions running high in the Korean Peninsula and the region go to clearly prove that the U.S. is, indeed, the arch criminal threatening and wrecking the global peace and security. The warmongers are so reckless as to dig their own graves. The DPRK is ready both for dialogue and war and has all means and methods to defend itself. The prevailing situation makes the DPRK more keenly feel the validity and vitality of the Songun politics. The U.S. and the south Korean authorities should understand that there is a critical point in the tension, too, and should not calculate they can evade the blame for the explosive situation.

NPCK Blasts US and S. Korean Warmongers' UFG

Pyongyang, August 18 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the National Peace Committee of Korea released the following statement Wednesday to condemn the U.S. and the puppet group of south Korea for having launched the provocative Ulji Freedom Guardian joint military exercises, defying the unanimous protest and denunciation from Koreans and other peace-loving people of the world: Involved in the exercises that kicked off on August 16 and last till August 26 are at least 30,000 U.S. troops, treble those mobilized in the past exercises, more than 56,000 puppet troops and over 400 000 civilians from more than 4,000 organs including puppet central and local self-governing bodies. UFG now being staged by the U.S. and the south Korean puppet group across south Korea in the wake of the DPRK-targeted war saber-rattling waged in the East and West Seas of Korea under the pretext of the warship sinking case clearly proves how mad they have gone in the war moves. UFG is a nuclear test war as large-scale modern war means and troops are involved there and live shells are being used under the simulated conditions of an actual war according to the operational scenario for mounting a preemptive attack on the DPRK This notwithstanding, the puppet group is letting loose such ridiculous outbursts that the exercises are aimed to "deter a war" and "ensure peace" and the like. The group is talking about "deterring a war" and "preserving peace" after turning the whole of south Korea into theatres of war maneuvers aimed to do harm to fellow countrymen in league with outsiders. This is nothing but sheer sophism. The DPRK will clearly teach the warmongers that the DPRK-targeted war maneuvers will get them nowhere and bring only self-destruction. The army and people of the DPRK will never remain an on-looker to the warmongers' military provocation and war moves but deal unpredictable severe blows at the enemy strongholds any moment and from any place as they had already clarified.

Report of UK KFA pickets of US and sk puppet embassies

On August 17th UK KFA along with the ASSPUK and JISGE as well New Communist Party general secretary Andy Brooks and members of the labour,peace and progressive movement.Some had travelled from as far as Southampton and Oxford to be at the
meeting.
The first picket was at the south Korean puppet embassy at 1pm.The KFA banner along with the DPRK and the AUCPB red flag and also slogans "Hands off the DPRK " and "No UNSC" sanctions were displayed.One south Korean puppet official asked the picketers "Do you have permission from police to do this"(possibly a feeble attempt at intimidation),later a so called "Police Community Support Officer" tried to ask for identification of demonstrators but there was no legal nessecity for this.The other attempt at obstruction came from a rather arrogant UK businessman who claimed the demonstration was interrupting his company board meeting !.

The statement of UK KFA denouncing the Ulji Freedom Guardian exercises was read out by Kevin Cain KFA Organisation secretary and leader of the For Bolshevism group.Demonstrators chanted "DPRK Here to Stay,SK no way !","No War exercises" "Down with Lee Myung Bak puppet regime" "Victory to the DPRK" "US troops out of Korea".The music "Peace is On Our Bayonets" ,"Death to the US imperialist agggressors " "Korea is One" and "No Motherland Without You".


Demonstrators then proceeded to the US Embassy at Grosvenor Square.The picket started at 3pm.Flags of the DPRK were displayed also UK KFA banner and placards "Hands Off the DPRK" and "No UNSC sanctions".This part of the demonstration was joined by the Revolutionary Workers Party (Posadist-Trotskyist). KFA Organisation Secretary read out the UK KFA statement denouncing Ulji Freedom Guardian he said "The US imperialists and south Korean puppets-thee Lee Myung bak sellout fascist regime-are staging yet more military exercises this time Ulji Freedom Guardian.These come hard on the heels of earlier military exercises which appear to be held continously in south Korea.

UFG is larger in scale than the other exercises and is a clear cut rehearsal to start a war and invade the DPRK.US president Obama has declared himself the "first Pacific president of the USA" and intends to rule the Asia Pacfic region as a colonial domain.

UFG exercises are a threat to peace not only on the Korean peninsula and the Asia-Pacific region but also the entire world as a war could easily start as a result of the exercises,a small incident or accident could easily turn into war which would then spread across Asia and become a nuclear war.
UFG is a crude and blatant attempt at intimidating the Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea into making unilateral concessions and ultimately to give up its socialist system.This is a serious encroachment on the DPRK's sovereignity"

A resident of Southampton city stated that US troops remain in south Korea contrary to UN agreements and resolutions and the Korean Armstice Agreement,it is time for them to go home

KFA Official Delegate UK and president ASSPK said that the Obama regime in the US has continuined with the policy of Bush aimed at stifling the DPRK. Ulji Freedom Guardian is a rehearshal to invade the DPRK as it even involves civil servants and adminstrators.He said that Obama is just the trendy face of US imperialism.
Speakers also drew attention to the insidious attempt of the US imperialists to extradite Sean Garland leader of the Workers Party of Ireland and friend of the DPRK to the US as well the US extradition of UK citizen Gary McKinnion.

Speakers also contrasted the DPRK's advanced socialist democracy with the corrupt and decadent bourgeois democracy of the US.
The slogans "USA No Way,DPRK Here to Stay" "US troops out now" were chanted loudly by demonstrators.The music "Peace is Our Bayonets","Death to the US imperialist aggressors ","Korea is One" ,"Let Us Uphold the Red Flag" and "No Motherland Without You" were played.

Support for the picket was expressed by Malaysian residents in London and also English working class youth.

Afterwards some members of the picket adjourned for a small social with food and drink to discuss the days picket and plan future events and also to mark the 50th anniversary of the Songun revolutionary leadership of the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il.
Chairman of JISGE and president of ASSPUK said that leader comrade Kim Jong Il started the Songun revolutionary leadership by visiting the Seoul Guards Ryu Kyong Su 105 Tank Division which had been the vanguard of the liberation of Seoul in 1950.Thus he put military affairs first.Under the Songun revolutionary leadership the DPRK scored great victories such as capturing the USS Pueblo and shooting down the EC121 spy plane as well facing down the US in the 1st and 2nd nuclear crisis.
KFA organisation secretary said Songun is based on the idea that the revolution is advanced by the gun and this the truth of the world revolutionary movement.

ASSPUK president stressed that the DPRK is a socialist power of independence and self reliance with stable economy thanks to the Juche idea and the Songun revolutionary leadership.Songun is the cutting edge in the struggle against imperialism and the DPRK is in the front line against US imperialism.
