Japan's Defense White Paper Is Reinvasion-minded One for Legalization of Operation of War Machine: International Security Analyst

Pyongyang, August 11 (KCNA) -- Kang Won Chol, an international security analyst of the DPRK, issued the following article "Japan's defense white paper is a reinvasion-minded one for the legalization of the operation of war machine":

Japan has been rushing headlong into militarization, seized with an ambition for reinvasion. Against this backdrop, it issued the 2026 Defense White Paper.

In the white paper, being rejected as the one for aggression at home and abroad, Japan groundlessly described the DPRK and other neighboring countries as a "serious and imminent threat" and the "greatest strategic challenge" in order to justify its reckless arms buildup.

It is nothing but an act of turning black into white that Japan stipulated the "threat" from neighboring countries in the white paper although it has been putting spurs to the tightening of the alliance with the U.S. and its followers after setting it as a "state policy" to negate its past crimes and realize its ambition to become a military power.

As everybody knows, Japan, a war criminal state responsible for inflicting a great disaster upon the humankind in the first half of the 20th century, refuses to discard the militarist ambition for reinvasion in the face of all the political and legal restrictions, and have been heading for its conversion into a military power out of vengeance for its defeat for over 80 years. This poses an imminent and serious threat to the world at present.

Following the publication of the white paper, Defence Minister Koizumi stressed the need to beef up and renovate the military muscle with a sense of urgency and crisis in response to the escalating threats from the neighboring countries. This clearly shows how desperately he is pushing Japan into following an extremely dangerous road in the vanguard for militarization.

The reality proves that Japan's political climate and true colors characterized by an aggression gene remain unchanged and mutate into more dangerous forms with each passing day.

No matter how hard Japan tries to describe its real intention for aggression as "defense", it will never conceal its true colors as a root cause of endangering the peace and escalating the tensions in the region.

To build up in every way an overwhelming and powerful war deterrent for self-defence capable of containing and frustrating the enemy states' ambition for reinvasion and their attempt to unleash an aggressive war serves as an indispensable contribution to reliably defending the sovereignty of the country and maintaining the regional peace and stability.

Japan's frantic moves to turn itself into a war state and invasion-minded state will only further endanger Japan's future.

The international community should sharpen vigilance against Japan's neo-militarist move to seriously destroy the regional peace and security and turn itself into a more dangerous entity each day, and strongly condemn and reject it. -0-

Envisaging the People with Pleasure

A record downpour struck the northern border area of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea on July 27, 2024. As a result, the water level of the Amnok River far exceeded the danger line and several island areas in the city of Sinuiju and Uiju County of North Phyongan Province suffered from flood damage.

Soon after the crisis occurred, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, promptly committed powerful rescue forces of the People's Army and guided the operation for rescuing the inhabitants on the spot. Afterwards, he visited the flood-hit areas several times to turn the islands of disaster into the ones of paradise.

One day in November 2024, Comrade Kim Jong Un called at the sites of reconstruction of flood-hit areas in North Phyongan Province.

Looking at a full view of the construction site for a good while, he said he was really pleased to see sturdy banks and rural houses of various urban styles rising up competitively as they boasted of their original form in the safe zone.

He added that we had made a worthwhile and correct decision and brought about a great change with our own efforts by believing in them.

As he eagerly waited for the day when he could provide the flood victims with the best houses at an early date, he was so satisfied to picture to himself the people who would be happy with the new modern houses.

In retrospect, Comrade Kim Jong Un was always concerned about the people from the moment of flood damage. He got aboard a rubber boat to go round the inundated areas and visited the tents, in which the flood victims were living temporarily, despite the sultry weather to show warm affection to them.

Thanks to his warm sincerity for the people, modern houses could be built magnificently in the island areas once swept by natural disaster.

Law on Nationalization of Major Industries

Pyongyang, August 10 (KCNA) -- Today is the 80th anniversary of the promulgation of the law on nationalization of major industries by President Kim Il Sung.

Today the DPRK people are looking back with deep emotion on the feats performed by the President in leading the struggle for nationalization of major industries to victory so as to put the workers forward as the masters of the factories, the ones of the means of production.

Before Korea's liberation most of its industries were monopolized by Japanese imperialists and comprador capitalists. And this noticeably prevented its economic development.

After Korea's liberation (August 15, 1945) the President acquired a deep insight into the requirement of the developing revolution and organized and led the struggle for nationalization of major industries.

Factionalists completely infected with flunkeyism and dogmatists asserted that nationalization of industries should be carried out at the stage of the socialist revolution, and that all the industries nationalized. And they also insisted that industries should be owned by capitalists as the Korean revolution means the bourgeois revolution. They even argued that there is no need to promulgate the law on nationalization of industries because major industries belonged to the Korean people, following the defeat of the Japanese imperialists.

Taking into account the specific conditions of the country, the President set nationalization of industries, which was regarded as a task for the socialist revolution in the past, as an important task for the anti-imperialist, anti-feudal democratic revolution.

To realize nationalization of major industries, the President set forth the slogan "Factories to the Workers" and took such measures as the organization of factory committees assigned to seize and operate the industrial facilities and economic organs, the objects of nationalization, and the establishment of a well-regulated system of controlling and managing them within the people's government organs.

The President promulgated "Law on Nationalization of Industries, Transport, Communications, Banks and So On" on August 10, 1946.

According to the law on nationalization of major industries, more than 1 000 major industrial facilities amounting to over 90 percent of all the industries became all-people property.

Nationalization of major industries enabled our workers to become legitimate masters of factories and means of production and made it possible to use major means of production for the prosperity of the country and the promotion of the working people's wellbeing. -0-

All the creative workers and artistes of the orchestra were filled with great excitement and joy as they came to realize their greatest desire to have Comrade Kim Jong Un, for whom they yearned so much, at their theatre on the significant founding anniversary.

Comrade Kim Jong Un was courteously greeted at the Moranbong Theatre by officials of the Central Committee of the WPK, Hyon Un Chol, minister of Culture of the DPRK, and leading officials of the National Symphony Orchestra.

When he entered the main lobby of the theatre, the excitement of creative workers and artistes greeting the moment of greatest happiness developed into thunderous cheers.

The full text of his letter is as follows:

I, in the name of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and the government of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, extend warm congratulations and greetings of encouragement to the creative workers and artistes of the National Symphony Orchestra on greeting its 80th founding anniversary with a sense of honour and pride in having glorified its brilliant history together with our beloved motherland.

Quite extraordinary are the remembrances of the history of the meaningful Moranbong Theatre and of the National Symphony Orchestra that have aroused emotions among the people with the solemn and characteristic sounds of the works of mixed orchestra of our own style.

Having proclaimed its birth as the first orchestra of a new Korea on August 8, 1946 with the playing of "Song of General Kim Il Sung", it powerfully demonstrated the ideological will and strong aspiration of all the people to achieve civilization and prosperity with a soaring spirit and mettle for nation building; it has injected renewed vitality and vigour into social progress with model masterpieces of the times. These are etched in the pages of our history.

In the days when the country was experiencing harsh trials, the creative workers and artistes of the orchestra willingly followed the arduous road and rendered support to the revolution with the musical instruments as a weapon of struggle. In the decades that seethed with creation and construction, they proudly sang of the worthwhile life of the people who were shaping a rosy future with affection for their socialist country. In this way, they offered great encouragement to the progress of our cause. These feats of theirs are never trifling.

From the first days of its founding, it has portrayed the songs of praise of our Party and socialism as orchestral works and symphonic suites and medleys, thus presenting them as monumental masterpieces. Its creative activities constitute patriotic feats that recorded in history by dint of solemn and fresh sounds the victorious course our glorious Republic has traversed.

The general title of the works the orchestra has portrayed and put on stage over the past 80 years, sharing the history of our people's struggle to accomplish the gigantic social transformations under the leadership of the Party, should be called "Symphony of Socialism" on its own terms.

In the stirring decade when an era of overall efflorescence of Juche-oriented art was being ushered in, it re-presented such masterpieces as "A Bumper Harvest in the Chongsan Plain", "The Dear Home in My Native Village", "The Girl on the Swing" and "Arirang", pioneering a new realm of symphony of our own style and bringing home to the people the unusual might of music that leads them to share the destiny of their country and promotes its development. Our people still remember vividly these creative activities of the orchestra.

It can be said that every work represents the language of faith and conscience and the melody of love and passion, which can be expressed only by the musicians of Korea who regard our Party's ideas on aesthetics and musical theories as the only ideology and banner for their creation and by true artistes who treasure everything beautiful on this land and are determined to sing of it to the last moment of their lives.

Comrades Ho Jae Bok, Kim Pyong Hwa, Choe Ki Hyok and other talented conductors and instrumentalists of the orchestra made a contribution to cultivating the rich flower garden of the Juche-oriented art with unflagging passion. Their images still remain implanted in the eyes of our people, and serve as a model of worthwhile life of the revolutionary men of art and literature who sang of their motherland throughout their lives.

The ennobling aspirations and painstaking efforts of the creative workers and artistes of the orchestra to add lustre to its fine history and traditions with innovative achievements can be clearly seen in the fact that they are demonstrating the might of the Juche-oriented symphony in the present era of transformation by arranging famous musical works, loved by the people, to suit the works' emotional contents and modern aesthetic tastes.

In recent years alone, they have created a large number of refined works and gave splendid concerts in celebration of major national holidays, boosting the ennobling feelings of patriotism cherished deeply in the hearts of our people and giving a strong impetus to their spiritual and cultural growth. Their performing activities have left an indelible impression on the people for their peculiar features and moods.

The orchestra has always preserved its competent creative guidance forces and skilled instrumentalists and kept creating symphonies of various themes while successfully re-presenting historical works. These add more to the proud history of the authoritative orchestra.

I think this is an expression and outcome of their true and devoted attitude and outlook on life to support the Party and the country with performing activities, not out of mere sense of duty or with artistic skills, but out of a desire to remain faithful to their jobs assigned by their country without expecting any reward or honour.

Such an excellent spiritual world, with which they are invariably and faithfully fulfilling their duty and steadily writing the history of the orchestra by dint of ennobling consciousness and pure conscience, is the most precious one beyond compare.

Over the past eight decades the orchestra has faithfully preserved its original features of patriotic enthusiasm and sincere artistic creation in their pure forms, exalting its prestige and honour as befitting a national-level art institution that carries on the history of development of Juche-oriented music. It is a precious treasure of our state and a source of great pride for our Party and our people.

Throughout those long years, the creative workers and artistes of the orchestra have remained loyal to its initial aim and basic mission, thereby enjoying the affection and trust of their country and fellow people, and strove to maintain their proud reputation and traditions with constant renovations and progress. For this, I highly appreciate all of them.

The art of music has been a powerful engine for the development of our state, and it will be so, in the future, too.

Our Party's consistent principle in musical creation is to ensure high ideological and artistic qualities, sustain the characteristics of the times and apply a people-oriented approach to the letter.

You should, just as you have done so far, accept the Party's policies on art and literature as absolute and work only as intended by the Party; firmly united in ideology and purpose and also in feeling and emotion, you should work hard to usher in a golden age of the art of music in the new era.

Melodies have a peculiar attraction of greatly stirring up a person's ideological feelings and drawing them into an emotional world that is inexpressibly rich and profound.

As creative workers and instrumentalists of the orchestra, which is in effect a national icon, you ought to excel in artistic insight and skills, and also stand in the vanguard in creating masterpieces that are representative of our era.

Our Party hopes that you will steadily improve your abilities to create and stage any work in a flawless and perfect way, thus continuing to add brilliance to your orchestra's prestige and honour befitting the best music group in our country that boasts a long history and traditions.

Today, when we are advancing towards greater transformation, enthusiastically singing revolutionary songs and other musical works as a march for our struggle and creation, a masterpiece pulsating with the spirit of the times will serve as an invaluable spiritual sustenance.

I firmly believe that all of you, creative workers and artistes of the orchestra, always mindful of the Party's and people's trust and expectations, will continue to write the pages of honourable history of Juche-oriented symphony by improving your practical abilities and conducting proactive and enterprising activities for artistic creation.

The  British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea and the  Korean Friendship Association of the UK (KFA UK  )  , issued the following joint statement on the occasion of the 81st  anniversary of the liberation of Korea from Japanese imperialist rule  on August 15th :

On the 15th of August 1945 Korea was liberated from the grim and oppressive fascist rule of Japanese imperialism, thanks to the 20-year-long armed struggle conducted under the leadership of the great leader general KIM IL SUNG the sun of the Korean nation, ever-victorious iron-willed brilliant commander and gifted military strategist. The anti-Japanese People's Guerrilla Army led by the great leader comrade KIM IL SUNG had neither a state base nor a rear to rely on. The armed struggle of the anti-Japanese guerrillas was a self-reliant one that embodied the Juche Idea. The great leader General KIM IL SUNG cast aside the flunkeyist idea of relying on big powers for salvation and instead conducted an independent struggle, based on Juche, against Japanese imperialism fully relying on the masses of people.  

                                     

                    The anti-Japanese armed struggle fully proved in practice  that independence is achieved by the force of arms. During the anti-Japanese armed struggle, the great leader generalissimo KIM IL SUNG adhering firmly to the line of Songun rejected illusions of the national  reformists and opportunists that independence could be achieved by peaceful means or by begging for it.

     The Juche-orientated guerrilla tactics of the great leader President KIM IL SUNG and the indomitable struggle of the Anti-Japanese People's Guerrilla Army (later the Korean People's Revolutionary Army ) tore the guts out of Japanese imperialism, defeating the million-strong Kwantung army of Japanese imperialism. The barbaric Japanese imperialist invaders were expelled from the land of Korea at last.                

    The defeat of Japanese imperialism, one of the main forces and shock brigade of international fascism, by the partisans of the Korean People's Revolutionary Army led by the great leader General KIM IL SUNG made a great contribution to the victory of the worldwide anti-fascist forces.

                                         

   The victorious liberation struggle of the Korean people led by General KIM IL SUNG, a gifted military strategist and ever-victorious iron-willed brilliant commander was an inspiration for the peoples of the colonial countries fighting for their independence and liberation. The 1968 World Cultural Congress in Havana adopted a document praising the anti-Japanese armed struggle waged under the leadership of the great leader comrade KIM IL SUNG.

    With the victory of the Korean People's Revolutionary Army, commanded by the great leader generalissimo KIM IL SUNG, in August 1945 the Korean people finally gained their emancipation from the cruel shackles of Japanese colonialism and greeted a new life of independence, a life of hope for the future.

  After liberation under the leadership of the great leader President KIM IL SUNG the people of Korea built a new thriving country of independence, a country which even in the words of enemies has "undiluted sovereignty ".Under the banner of self-reliance, the Korean people are further consolidating the independence of the country and building a fine and mighty independent power of Juche. The Korean people now have lives of independence and creativity.

  Now the Korean people have had more than 8 decades of total independence , self-reliance and sovereignty .Today People's Korea under the leadership of dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN towers as a mighty socialist power of Juche .
