Pyongyang, October 2 (KCNA) -- Ri Jin, researcher of the Korea Association for Human Rights Studies, Thursday issued the following article titled "'Trafficking in Persons Report' highlights only the incurable maladies of the United States":
Recently, the U.S. Department of State released again a "report" that willfully assesses and classifies the practices of "human trafficking" in the DPRK and all other countries of the world.
The "report", as in the past, repeated its slander against the sovereign states, citing the data of "human trafficking" in other countries and labeling them as "model states" or "backward states" after grading the countries in order of the governmental efforts for eradicating "human trafficking" and their results.
Last year we had already branded the annual "Trafficking in Persons Report" of the U.S. which was run through with the obsolete fabricated data as a diagnosis of mental derangement of the U.S. addicted to the politicization of human rights.
The U.S. still tries to style itself a "human rights judge" though it is breaking the world's worst human rights record every year. It is stunning the public.
It is illogical that the U.S., where horrible shooting incidents occur at schools, churches and shops almost every day and tens of thousands of people are being taken to prisons due to the policy of expelling immigrants, assesses the situation of human rights in the world.
This is not the only thing.
It is, indeed, a tragicomedy that the U.S. government made a "judgment" upon the world situation of "human trafficking" at a time when the whole world is astonished at a U.S. millionaire's hideous underage sex trafficking.
The reality clearly proves that the U.S. "Trafficking in Persons Report" is nothing but a means for veiling its records of human rights violation and politicizing human rights to justify the pressure on different countries and interference in their internal affairs, and has nothing to do with the substantial efforts to eradicate human trafficking.
It is by no means fortuitous that not only the anti-U.S. and independent countries but also the "countries sharing their mind" with the U.S. are openly criticizing the U.S for its deceitful and contradictory gibberish about "human rights".
Today when the world aspires after multi-polarization, the DPRK and many other countries are directing efforts to promoting human rights conforming to their own history, culture and socio-economic environment.
The U.S. is well advised to clearly understand the reality and realize that the old-fashioned and inefficient behavior of a "human rights judge" is no longer appropriate, and it moves to internationalize and politicize the "human rights" issues of other countries would only result in self-harming consequences of bringing its miserable human rights situation to a focus.
We will in the future, too, not lend an ear to the U.S. deceptive "human rights" rhetoric but do our best to defend the most advantageous socialist system of our own style and the genuine rights and interests of the people. -0-

The military exercises of the United States and the Republic of Korea which had become habitual practice since long ago have always been provocative and dangerous in their nature but the gravity is increasing from the characteristics that they are recently plotting military nexus with the nuclear element involved.
Such changing situation requires us to take counteraction with proactive and overwhelming changes.
In particular, it is the most important state affairs from the viewpoint of the development of the armed forces of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and in view of the military theory based on the geopolitical peculiarities of the DPRK to extremely and rapidly develop the capability for operations of our Navy which is performing its duty in the major space of national defence.
The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, President of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, visited the destroyer "Choe Hyon" on August 18, 2025 and acquainted himself with the course of the integrated operation test of the weapon system of the destroyer.
That day, he underlined the need to complete the tasks slated for August and September and move on to the next stage, the process of assessing the performance and capability for conducting operations of the ship, in October as planned.
He received a report on the third "Choe Hyon"-class new-type multi-mission destroyer being built at the Nampho Shipyard and its long-term plan and had an important conversation with technicians and experts in the field of the shipbuilding industry.
He said our Navy will become a reliable force firmly performing a part in the composition of the state nuclear forces and the realm of nuclear use in the near future. It means that the combat strength of our Navy is growing more adaptable to the fulfilment of the national defence strategy and the use of war deterrent, he added.
The most reliable and steadfast way and guarantee for controlling and keeping the security environment of the region and firmly defending the sovereignty and security of the DPRK are only to make enemies afraid of the DPRK, he said, adding that such view of the DPRK on controlling the situation and the national defence strategy will remain unchanged.
Another ceremony of launching a new-type multi-mission destroyer was held on June 12.
The new destroyer was named "Kang Kon".
The destroyer, as a leading restraining force for sea defence, is equipped with comprehensive combat capability which was developed and enhanced in Korean way so as to make an annihilating, retaliatory strike against the hostile forces, who try to challenge the sovereignty of the DPRK and encroach upon its right to peace and prosperity, while freely moving in and out of the East Sea and the Pacific like their yard, wherever they are--coastal waters, ocean or land.
It is the determination of the DPRK to accelerate the development of its Navy's fighting capability in a more comprehensive way so that the enemy will not dare attempt to initiate any aggressive action in its neighbouring waters.

The Korean Friendship Association of the UK (KFA UK ) held its 31st Film Night on the 30 September via Telegram at 1900 hours with the participation of KFA UK officials ,activists and members from London ,Scotland and other parts of the UK as well as guests from KFA Andalusia (Spain ) , KFA Spain , KFA Germany and a number of other countries .
The film shown was “Two Families In Haeun Dong “ which was produced in 1996 in the difficult period when the DPRK faced increased sanctions from the imperialists who were trying to destroy socialism . The film depicts the lives of different families living in a block of flats . People are excited when a new family consisting of a famous singer and her engineer husband and little move in . However soon the new family become a source of concern for the community . The engineer husband works hard to develop a new process that will eliminate the need for imports of nickel but it means that he has little time for his wife and son leading to conflict which is symbolised by a ceramic vase smashing and the wife walking out .
The people’s neighbourhood unit help to calm things down . Meanwhile some neighbours gain a better understanding of the important work for the country that the engineer is doing.
The family concludes with a happy ending ; the couple reconcile , other neighbours realise their judgements were hasty and the new self-reliant work process is created .
