Faithful Working People.

  In our society there are a lot of people who infinitely love their jobs and live a faithful and genuine life at their work places, even though they may not be seen or appreciated. Kept deep in their hearts is the mind to work for the country rather than for themselves.

  Kim Hak Mun, Head of the Automation Workshop of the Chollima Steel Complex, is a Meritorious Person of Socialist Patriotism respected by all.

 He has been working at the automation workshop for more than 30 years.

  His father worked as a technician at the complex for a long time. In order to make contribution to the increased steel production with science and technology like his father, he attended a university course through the study-while-you-work system. While working as workshop head via operation worker and senior engineer, he played a pivotal role in manufacturing and installing many pieces of equipment including the ultra-high power electric arc furnace. Over the past 20-odd years as the workshop head, he has made and introduced five inventions and more than ten new technical innovation proposals. Today, too, he always thinks and quests to produce even a ton of steel more.

  It is his view and creed that his pace cannot be slowed down, his thought not be suspended and his creation not be stopped even a moment.

Choe Pok Sun at the Koryo Foodstuff-Processing Factory is a renowned worker-inventor and doctor.

  She finished her university course under the study-while-you-work system, received many certificates including invention certificates and contributed a number of essays to publications. She was awarded a doctorate by solving knotty scientific and technological problems for normalized production at the factory.

  People ask her how an ordinary worker could become a doctor, and she tells them that though she lost her parents in her childhood, she and her siblings grew up happily, learning to their heart's content without any gloom and therefore, she strove to repay the benefits of the state.Manager Nam Chang Su and Worker Ri Ok Hui at the Sepho County Forestry Management Station are a married couple.

  They have turned thousands of hectares of heap of mucks into a thickly-wooded "gold mountain".

  They are respected by the people as Meritorious Persons of Socialist Patriotism, as they devoted their sincere efforts and conscience, seen or unseen.

  Thanks to such sung and unsung patriotic working people who love their work places and do their jobs faithfully, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea gets rich and powerful and shines as a socialist paradise.

U.S. Arms Buildup Will Be Unwise Option Bolstering up Uncertainty of Its Mainland Security

Pyongyang, May 3 (KCNA) -- Following is the full text of an article "The U.S. arms buildup will be an unwise option to further increase uncertainty of its mainland security " issued by a military commentator of the DPRK on Saturday:

Recently, the fact that an interceptor drill simulating the so-called ICBM attack of an enemy state was conducted under the inspection of the U.S. Secretary of the Army at the Fort Greely military base in Alaska State of the U.S. was disclosed.

The drill, which was conducted under the signboard of "defense of the mainland", is, in essence, a military action of an offensive nature that made a nuclear war with the DPRK a fait accompli.

If the U.S. does not seek a nuclear war with the DPRK, it will not happen that the strategic nuclear force of the DPRK targets the U.S. mainland and there is no need to talk about the so-called "interception".

The fact that the DPRK's ICBM was designated as an intercepting target proves that the U.S. is making preemptive nuclear attack on the DPRK a fait accompli and mastering counteraction to retaliatory strike.

The U.S. arms buildup for attack to secure military edge in the region is being recently conducted more intensively and openly on the Korean peninsula and in the region.

The U.S. 7th Air Force announced a plan to move 31 F-16 fighters from the Kunsan Air Force Base in the ROK to the Osan Air Force Base to form the second "super-powerful wing" and is examining the plan of constantly deploying 20 F-35A stealth fighters in Kunsan. This proves that the appearance of the ultra-modern attack means of the U.S. Air Force specializing in preemptive strike has entered the stage of countdown near the southern border of the DPRK.

Earlier, the U.S. additionally deployed F-35A stealth fighters at the Kadena Air Force Base in January and F-35B stealth fighters at the Iwakuni Air Force Base in March. Shortly ago, two B-1B strategic bombers were stationed for a long time at the Misawa Air Force Base under the pretext of rotational deployment.

As a result, the surrounding area of the Korean peninsula turned into a huge sortie base where the strategic assets of the U.S. Air Force, including B-1B strategic bombers, F-22 stealth fighters and three kinds of stealth fighters of F-35 series, were massively assembled.

The U.S. air combat power buildup is a revelation of its extremely dangerous military intention both in name and reality to ensure the superiority of the command of the air in contingency and raise the promptness and efficiency of the nuclear preemptive attack capability on the DPRK through the operational combination of strategic bombers and main fighters.

All the circumstances prove that the U.S. arms buildup to raise the level of war preparations in all aspects of attack and defense has entered the stage of mastering practical action, far beyond the level of demonstration.

The building of the strongest offensive and defensive power capable of overwhelmingly suppressing any form of military threat posed by the U.S. arms buildup directly aiming at the DPRK is the best option for deterring the danger of the outbreak of a nuclear war and ensuring the balance of strength on the Korean peninsula.

The U.S. arms buildup which made military attack on the DPRK a fait accompli will be an unwise option bolstering up the uncertainty of its mainland security. -0-

 The British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea(BGSJI)  and the  Korean Friendship Association of the UK(KFA UK ) issued a statement about the launch of the destroyer vessel of the navy of the Korean People's Army , the Choe Hyon on the 25th of April in the presence of respected Marshal KIM JONG UN the general secretary of the Workers Party of Korea and supreme commander of the DPRK's revolutionary armed forces;

On the 25th of April a  new-type multi-mission destroyer of the Korean People's Army (KPA ) navy was launched in the presence of respected Marshal KIM JONG UN . The new ship is a 5,000 ton destroyer equipped with up to date modern weaponry . The ship was named the "Choe Hyon " after the famous veteran anti-Japanese revolutionary Choe Hyon .

In his speech at the launching ceremony respected Marshal KIM JONG UN said that "This year marks the 80th anniversary of our country's liberating itself from imperialist colonial subordination and regaining its national sovereignty. On April 25 in this meaningful year, the birthday of the first revolutionary armed forces of Korea, we have launched a powerful destroyer as an ensemble of our great national power, so this launching ceremony is more significant.

The dawn of the Korean revolution, the establishment of state power which signified that the Korean people achieved their right to independence, and their nearly-a-century-long struggle in defence of the country's sovereignty have been directly associated with the Juche-oriented armed forces, and the people have achieved victory after victory by relying entirely on these forces."

It was indeed fitting that the "Choe Hyon " was launched on the 25th of April , the anniversary of the foundation of the DPRK's revolutionary armed forces.

Subsequently , the weaponry of the "Choe Hyon " was tested .A test-fire of supersonic cruise missile, strategic cruise missile, anti-aircraft missile and 127mm shipboard automatic gun took place on April 28.

The "Choe Hyon " is indeed the proud product of the DPRK's self-reliant national defence industry . Nowadays the DPRK can make any weaponry to defend itself without relying on others . This is the result of the Juche idea . The powerful Juche  warships of the KPA Navy will rule the waves of Korean waters"

The development of a new type of warship by the DPRK is a just measure to defend People's Korea from the increased threat of aggression by the US and ROK !

 The British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea(BGSJI)  and the  Korean Friendship Association of the UK(KFAUK )  issued a joint statement on the occasion of the 89th anniversary of the foundation of the Association for the Restoration of the Fatherland by the great leader President Kim Il Sung  ;
   89 years have passed since the Association For the Restoration of the Fatherland was  founded by President Kim Il Sung on May 5, Juche 25 (1936), was the first anti-Japanese national united front in Korea.Its  foundation was a decisive turning point in the Korean people's struggle for national liberation
    The Association For the Restoration of the Fatherland(ARF)  made great contributions to liberating Korea from Japan's colonial rule, as it helped rally the anti-Japanese forces of different social strata under the banner of patriotism and anti-imperialism  thus creating  the driving forces of the Korean revolution.
   The ARF was the first steady anti-Japanese national united front organi­zation in Korea, an organization guided by a single programme and rules and under a unified organizational system. It was a mass organization and a powerful underground revolutionary organization, working to fully ensure the leadership of the leader and the Party over the broad patriotic forces all over the country.President Kim Il Sung formulated the 10 point programme of the ARF which represented the advanced line and idea of the anti-imperialist, anti-feudal democratic revolution.
   The ARF was firmly based on the worker-peasant alliance and on the leadership of the revolutionaries. It rejected  compromise and national reformism. It was firmly based on the Songun-based line of armed struggle .
  The founding of the ARF was the fruition of the Juche-oriented line  of the anti-Japanese national united front put forward by the great leader comrade  Kim Il Sung,which exemplified  the will of the Korean people to wage the struggle against the Japanese more vigorously on their own initiative and marking a historic occasion that gave rise to a new upsurge in the Korean revolution as a whole, based on the anti-Japanese armed struggle.
   Today respected Marshal Kim Jong Un is carrying forward the idea of the great leader comrade
Kim Il Sung on the united front and is putting them into action.
    The ARF was an excellent example of a Juche-based united front and popular front which showed the way forward for the people of oppressed colonies to defeat imperialism and win independence. The Association For the Restoration of the Fatherland stands out as a model of an anti-imperialist, anti-fascist united front and popular front and its great achievements will shine forever !

     The election of dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN as Chairman of the WPK  at its 7th Congress , nine years ago , reflected the unanimous support ,deep respect  trust of the members of the Workers' Party of Korea and entire Korean people.
   The election as Chairman  of the WPK fully confirmed the fact tha  Dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN is the great successor, the one and only successor , to the great leaders generalissimos KIM IL SUNG and KIM JONG IL who faithfully follows in their footsteps carrying out their behests most loyally.  Indeed dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN is identical to President KIM IL SUNG and KIM JONG IL.
    The election to the position of Chairman was  profound manifestation of the continuity. of the great Juche and Songun revolution started by the great leader President KIM IL SUNG and matured by eternal Chairman KIM JONG IL.

     The DPRK during the past 9 years has battled against the sanctions imposed by the hostile forces and achieved great success in socialist construction .

Korean Workers on May Day

Holding respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, a great man with few parallels in history, in high esteem as the great teacher and benevolent father, the working people in the DPRK enjoy their proud life, exercising their full-fledged dignity and rights as masters of the country. They are now greeting the 135th anniversary of May Day, the international holiday of working peoples across the globe.

People dressed in fine clothes, carrying national flags of the DPRK and bouquets can be found in any street, residential district, workplace and parks on this day. With the participation of leading officials of the Party and the state, they enjoy a variety of sports games and watch celebration performances. Singing and dancing in each nook and corner of the country also add to the holiday atmosphere.

In capitalist countries, May Day is marked by rallies and demonstrations calling for pay rises, solution to unemployment problems and better working conditions. The working people in the DPRK, in contrast, sing loudly of the great benevolence of the leader and the era of the Workers' Party of Korea with the pride of being masters of a genuine people's country.

Putting entire trust in the Party, the working class in the DPRK loyally uphold the idea and leadership of the Party and the leader with sincere devotion both in good times and bad times.

Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un gave them the noble name of the heroic working class of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il. He is now wisely leading the building of a socialist power with his outstanding leadership as well as the idea on giving priority to the working class.

Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un is always bestowing his benevolence entirely upon the trustworthy and resourceful working people. The people of the DPRK, who work under his guidance, are not mere manpower sold in the labor market as in other countries. They are powerful beings in charge of propelling the era of a dignified power and masters of the country who play their part in formulating and implementing state policies.

Thanks to the people-first policy of the Party and the state, our working people received luxurious homes and modern dwelling houses for free that wage-earners in other countries can only dream of. Regional industrial factories with state-of-the-art technology, and many tourist sites and recreational establishments boasting of civilization have sprung up all across the nation. For all this material wealth and new level of civilization, it is quite natural for our working people to sing in praise of respected Comrade Kim Jong Un and the Workers' Party of Korea.

Workers in the DPRK devote their all to the materialization of the will and idea of respected Comrade Kim Jong Un at all costs. They usher in a new era of overall national prosperity with their unrelenting mental strength and tremendous patriotic zeal following the leadership of the Party. This is the fighting mettle and passionate spirit of our working people today.

At present, the imperialist allied forces are trying to wage a war of aggression in the vicinity of the DPRK. However, they dare not and are unable to invade this dignified country. The working people of the DPRK, the loyal and filial sons and daughters of respected Comrade Kim Jong Un are making a unanimous pledge on the occasion of this happy holiday on this land.

Report of 26th KFA UK Film Night

The Korean Friendship Association of the UK (KFA UK ) held its 26th Film night on the 28th of April at 1900 hours BST with the participation of members of KFA UK and also guests from KFA Canada , KFA Germany , the People’s Korea Initiative of Poland , Turkey and USA .

The feature film 'Urban Girl Comes to Get Married ' was shown . This is a wonderful film showing the reality of the DPRK socialist countryside . The central plot of the film revolves around a love story between a clothes designer,Ri Hyang  from a factory in Pyongyang and a young farm worker Song Sik .It can be said that the film symbolised the alliance between the workers and peasants of the DPRK . The film had a sweet happy ending; the two main characters get married . Seen at the end of the film are inspiring scenes of harvesting in the socialist countryside.

Participants said that it was a wholesome film which depicted romantic relations between people in a way totally different to the decadent films of the West .

The film night concluded at 2020 hours BST.
