Association for the Study of Songun Politics UK , the Juche Idea Study Group of England, the UK Korean Friendship Association and the British Solidarity Committee for Peace and Reunification on the Korean Peninsula  issued the following joint statement on the occasion of the the 82nd anniversary of the battle of Pochonbo .
            The battle of Pochonbo was a unique military  and political feat of the Korean People's Revolutionary Army under the command of the great leader comrade Kim Il Sung , a gifted military strategist, heroic partisan leader and ever-victorious iron-willed brilliant commander. The battle of Pochonbo struck a mighty blow against the fascistic Japanese imperialists ,striking fear into them.
     It was on the 4th of June 1937 that the revolutionary fighters of the KPRA carried out a daring and audacious operation to advance into the Korean homeland , under the command of the great leader comrade Kim Il Sung. General Kim Il Sung the commander of the KPRA had put forward the bold  policy of advancing into the Korean homeland and to strike at the Japanese imperialist occupiers.
The Japanese imperialists who had annexed Korea in 1910 were severely oppressing the Korean people ,literally strangling the life out of them and trying to obliterate everything Korean. The question of advance into the homeland was simply not a military one but a political and ideological one .
  Under the wise command of the great leader comrade Kim Il Sung using  brilliant Juche-orientated guerilla tactics the Korean People's Revolutionary Army annihilated the Japanese imperialist aggressors in Pochonbo and went on to defeat them in the battles of Kouyushan and Jiansanfeng,
      As the great leader comrade Kim Il Sung said
" Brothers and sisters, look at the flames over there. Those raging flames show that the enemy is doomed. Those flames show the whole world that our nation is not dead but alive, and that if we fight against the Japanese imperialist plunderers we can win. Those flames will shine like a ray of hope in the hearts of our people suffering from maltreatment and hunger, and will spread throughout our three-thousand-r/ land like a torch of struggle.
The Korean people are not of the “same descent” as the Japanese imperialist villains, and we do not acknowledge the idea noisily propagandized by them that “Japan and Korea are one”.
We, the KPRA, will tighten our grip on our weapons of revenge and liberate our 23 million fellow countrymen suffering from hunger and poverty, ignorance and darkness. We will liberate our fatherland come what may, and establish a people’s country free from oppression and exploitation on the land of the independent fatherland."
 Indeed the flames of Pochonbo symbolised the cleansing of Japanese imperialism from Korea and the destruction of the old society of exploitation and oppression.
  The victory in the Pochonbo battle, which was due to the protean guerrilla tactic of the great leader comrade Kim Il Sung, was a powerful inspiration to the oppressed peoples of the world in their anti-imperialist ,anti-colonialist struggle . As one third world liberation fighter wrote " The beacon fire of Pochonbo marked a great event which gave confidence in struggle to not only the Korean people under the colonial rule of Japanese imperialism , but also to the world revolutionary oppressed people, groaning in those days under the heels of the imperialist aggressors -fascist Germany, Italy , Japanese imperialism and American and British imperialism "

 Today the battle of Pochonbo remains a potent  inspiration and model of success in guerrilla struggle for anti-imperialist independence movements. The beacon fire of independence lit in Pochonbo 82 years ago still burns brightly in the independent  ,self reliant DPRK the land of Juche .

STATEMENT ON THE FORMATION OF THE JUCHE IDEA STUDY GROUP OF SCOTLAND

We have today formed the Juche Idea Study Group of Scotland with the aim of studying the Juche Idea and furthering its promotion in Scotland . We aim to creatively apply the Juche Idea to the realities of Scotland.
   Today  Juche Korea led by respected supreme leader Marshal Kim Jong Un is acknowledged by both friend and foe as the most independent country in the world with its own independent philosophy, the Juche Idea . The Juche Idea first authored by President Kim Il Sung and developed  by chairman Kim Jong Il , is an independent idea that realises independence in politics, economic self-sufficiency and self-reliance in defence .We  believe that this is something that Scottish people can learn from.
  We will study and disseminate the Juche idea in a manner suited to the realities of Scotland .

Grand Mass Gymnastics and Artistic Performance Opens

                                                             

Pyongyang, June 4 (KCNA) -- The grand gymnastics and artistic performance "The Land of the People" was held with due ceremony at the May Day Stadium on Monday.

Kim Jong Un, chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea, chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and supreme commander of the armed forces of the DPRK, enjoyed the grand gymnastics and artistic performance.

The Supreme Leader of the Party, the State and the armed forces appeared at the auditorium together with his wife Ri Sol Ju.

The Supreme Leader waved back to the enthusiastically cheering masses for a long time.

Enjoying the performance were Ri Man Gon, Pak Kwang Ho, Ri Su Yong, Kim Phyong Hae, Choe Hwi, An Jong Su, Pak Thae Song, Kim Yong Chol, Jo Yong Won, Kim Yo Jong, Ri Yong Sik, Hyon Song Wol, Kwon Hyok Bong, Jang Ryong Sik, Pak Chun Nam and other leading officials of the Party and government and Pyongyang citizens.

Also enjoying it were overseas compatriots and foreign guests staying here.

Pak Chun Nam, minister of Culture, made an opening address.

The performance began with the title of "The Land of the People" shining in the nocturnal sky above the capital city.

The performers showed beautiful and graceful rhythmic movements, high-spirited gymnastics, interesting national emotion and rich artistic depiction and large kaleidoscopic background stand.

At the end of the performance all the performers and the audience broke into cheers of "hurrah!" again, looking up to the Supreme Leader, and fireworks were displayed in the nocturnal sky above the capital city.

The Supreme Leader extended his warm greetings to the performers, expressing thanks for their performance.

After the performance he called creators of the performance and seriously criticized them for their wrong spirit of creation and irresponsible work attitude, pointing to the contents and forms of the performance.

Noting that the creators and artistes in the literature and art sector have a very important duty in socialist cultural construction, he set forth important tasks for correctly implementing the revolutionary policy of our Party on literature and art. -0-

RESOLUTION OF KFA SCOTLAND MEETING

This meeting of the Korean Friendship Association UK Scotland meeting support the Appeal of the Latin American and Caribbean Regional Committee to Support the Reunification of Korea that was published on April 15^th this year to mark the anniversaries of the 27^th April 2018 Panmunjom inter-Korean summit and June 12^th DPRK-US summit .The basic points of the appeal are to

• Let's powerfully wage international actions of support demanding that the climate of peace created on the Korean peninsula be led to the establishment of permanent peace-keeping mechanism!

• Let's extend support and solidarity to the Korean people in their struggle for developing the inter-Korean cooperation and exchange and achieving the prosperity of the nation by concerted efforts!

• Let's lay bare the injustice of the illegal and brutal sanctions blocking the development and prosperity of the Korean nation and take a courageous action in demand of their immediate lifting!

• Let's extend firm solidarity to the Korean people in their struggle to reunify the country in the spirit of national independence!

This meeting of KFA Scotland calls for all sanctions by the US and UN Security Council on the DPRK to be lifted , for the US to end its hostile policy towards the DPRK and for all military exercises by the US and south Korea to cease immediately . Furthermore we call for the conclusion of a peace treaty on the Korean peninsula and the establishment of a new peace keeping mechanism.

Media lies exposed !

Below are pictures of General Ri Yong Gil , Hyon Song Wol and general Kim Yong Chol. What do they have in common apart from being DPRK citizens and officials of the Workers Party of Korea? Well they have all been reported at different times to have been executed or purged or in labour camps by the Western media.
                                           

Recently the far right fascist 'Choson Ibo ' newspaper of south Korea carried reports that a number of DPRK officials involved with the DPRK-US talks had been executed and the DPRK 's chief negotiator vice chairman general Kim Yong Chol had purged or demoted and was in a 'labour camp' . This reports were recycled by the Western media on Friday . However today they had to eat their own words because vice chairman Kim Yong Chol was seen at an art performance with DPRK supreme leader Marshal Kim Jong Un .
Of course the reports blatantly untrue right from the start and the Western media would have known this . After all why would Ms Choi Son Hui , one of the DPRK 's negotiators in the DPRK-US talks get promoted but the others demoted or purged ? This would not make sense and even the blockheads of the Western media could have worked this out . Moreover there was no report of any trial or execution in the DPRK . The last execution in the DPRK took place on the 13th of December 2013 . The trial , by a special military tribunal , was reported in KCNA and other DPRK media . For a purge to take place , the WPK Central Committee or Political Bureau would have to meet but it did not . Lastly , there are no south Korean media based in Pyongyang . All the reports in south Korean papers about the DPRK are simply made up , they are a product of the imagination of south Korean journalists !

Painful Outcries

Members of civic organizations called a press conference on May 14 in Gwangju to strongly reprimand the Liberty Korea Party which puts brake to investigation into those responsible for massacre of the Gwangju uprising and interrupts the institution of a "law on punishment of those distorting the history of the May 18 popular uprising".

On the same day, a civic organization held a news conference at which it said that the LKP is extolling the despotic era of Chun Doo-hwan to the skies and degrading the Gwangju uprising as a “riot” and men of merit as a “monster”. Such undemocratic and outdated party should be dismantled, it contended. 

The Youth Solidarity issued a statement on May 18 to open an era of peace, prosperity and reunification in the Korean Peninsula by inheriting the spirit of the May 18 popular resistance.

                                       

The LKP, a descendant of the Gwangju uprising, is distorting the history of the uprising, unsettled history repeats itself, punish the Chun Doo-hwan clique and the US, the mastermind of it and the LKP and conservative forces, descendants of manslaughter, they stressed.    

On May 17, a pan-national meeting took place in Gwangju with attendance of 10 000 people of various circles. 

A resolution demanding the investigation into the uprising, the institution of a "law on punishment of those distorting the history of the May 18 popular uprising" and retirement of lawmakers who distorted the fact of uprising was adopted at the meeting,

On the same day and at the same place, a workers’ rally was held.

The manslaughterers, who have lived in clover, should be punished by the history and people, they noted and called for the people to make clear the truth about the uprising and punish those responsible for it before the 40th anniversary of the uprising.    

Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un Enjoys Art Performance Given by KPA Officers' Wives

Pyongyang, June 3 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea, chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and supreme commander of the armed forces of the DPRK, Sunday watched a performance given by amateur art groups of the wives of officers of units of the Korean People's Army (KPA) selected in the seventh round of the second-term contest of art groups of KPA officers' wives.

The Supreme Leader of the Party, the State and the armed forces appeared in the auditorium together with his wife Ri Sol Ju.

Among the audience were Choe Ryong Hae, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK, first vice-chairman of the SAC of the DPRK and president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly, leading officials of the WPK Central Committee including Ri Man Gon, Pak Kwang Ho, Ri Su Yong, Kim Phyong Hae, Choe Hwi, An Jong Su, Pak Thae Dok, Pak Thae Song, Kim Yong Chol, Kim Su Gil and Kim Ki Nam, commanding officers of the KPA and creators and artistes of major art troupes.

The performance was given by members of the amateur art groups of wives of the officers of the Fourth Corps and the Air and Anti-Aircraft Force of the KPA.

The performers impressively represented the ideological and mental features of KPA officers' wives, who make every moment of their life honorable with ardent yearning for the leader and boundless loyalty to him, in such numbers as solo and pangchang "Yearning", chorus "Our Leader Loved by People", accordion ensemble and chorus "Our National Flag", chorus "Ardent Desire", instrumental trio ensemble "Beautiful Vapour Trail" and national instrumental ensemble "Our Socialism Is the Best in the World".

The performance was highly acclaimed by the audience for successfully showing that the defence line of the country is impregnable as long as there is a large unit of women revolutionaries who bear in mind the great trust and expectation of the Party Central Committee and add dynamism to the revolution with love and devotion.

At the end of the performance, Kim Jong Un called near to him the son of a pilot who sacrificed himself for combat duty and the child whom he named at a conference, and embraced them and wished them a happy future.

He expressed great satisfaction over the fact that the members of amateur art groups of officers' wives gave an excellent performance of great ideological and artistic influence finely reflecting the Party policies on the basis of the Party's leadership exploits associated with the units and their real life.

Stressing the importance of the performance of amateur art groups of officers' wives, which is strong in motive and appealing power, in the ideological and cultural construction of the Party, he praised their revolutionary and noble mental world and cultural attainments as the motive power of the revolution, model for the whole society and said that all the members of the society should live and work regarding officers' wives as a model.

He expressed expectation that the wives of officers would bring the revolutionary and beautiful life put on the stage into fuller bloom at their posts as good elucidators and disseminators of the Party policies. -0-
