The Association for the Study of Songun Politics UK(ASSPUK), the Juche Idea Study Group of England (JISGE) ,the UK Korean Friendship Association(UK KFA) and the British Solidarity Committee for the Peace and Reunification in the Korean Peninsula(BSCPRKP) issued a joint statement in support of the excellent press statement made by the, first vice-minister of Foreign Affairs of the DPRK,comrade Kim Kye Gwan concerning the possible cancellation of the DPRK-US summit and the question of the stance of the DPRK's on the DPRK-US dialogue:
Respected Marshal KIM JONG UN has since the beginning of the year taken postive and pro-active steps to reduce tension on the Korean peninsula . This reflects the desire of respected Marshal KIM JONG UN to prevent war from breaking out on the Korean peninsula and to prevent a possible third world war . It was agreed to hold a summit with the US chief executive in June . Various steps were taken such as releasing 3 US citizens who were detained in the DPRK after commiting serious crimes . The DPRK has discontuined nuclear testing and also stop testing ICBMs .It has done everything to create the conditions for a succesful summit between the 2 countries.
However the US has not responded positively and instead has been talking about sanctions and pressure and have also brought forward demands for what amounts to the unilateral and one-sided disarmament and have jabbered about the so-called " Libyan model . " Comrade Kim Kye Gwan rightly points out that "This is not an expression of intention to address the issue through dialogue. It is essentially a manifestation of awfully sinister move to impose on our dignified state the destiny of Libya or Iraq which had been collapsed due to yielding the whole of their countries to big powers"
It is clear that the US does not seem to be breaking with past hostile policies but intends to use the summit to impose its will on the DPRK , to force into unilateral disarmament and to smash up by the Juche-based socialist system chosen by the Korean people. Therefore it is the independent right of the DPRK to avoid such a scenario and cancel its participation in the summit.
The statement of the 1st DPRK vice Foreign Minister fully clarifies the stance of the DPRK on the whole issue of dialogue pointing out that "We have already stated our intention for denuclearization of the Korean peninsula and made clear on several occasions that precondition for denuclearization is to put an end to anti-DPRK hostile policy and nuclear threats and blackmail of the United States"
This is the basis for genuine ,realistic and fair negotiation between the DPRK and US , anything else is simply unacceptable. We support the just stand of the DPRK concerning dialogue with the US.

The DPRK does not need the so -called "assistance " of US imperialism (which is really about breaking up the socialist system and enslaving its people).The future of the DPRK under the banner of Juche and self-reliance is bright

We denounce the US imperialists for tying to impose the so-called "Libyan " model on the DPRK which is basically an insult to the dignity of the DPRK !

Press Statement by First Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of DPRK

Pyongyang, May 16 (KCNA) -- Kim Kye Gwan, first vice-minister of Foreign Affairs of the DPRK, made public the following press statement on Wednesday:

Kim Jong Un, chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, made a strategic decision to put an end to the unpleasant history of the DPRK-U.S. relations and met Pompeo, U.S. secretary of state, for two times during his visit to our country and took very important and broad-minded steps for peace and stability in the Korean peninsula and the world.

In response to the noble intention of Chairman Kim Jong Un, President Trump stated his position for terminating the historically deep-rooted hostility and improving the relations between the DPRK and the U.S.

I appreciated the position positively with an expectation that upcoming DPRK-U.S. summit would be a big step forward for catalyzing détente on the Korean peninsula and building a great future.

But now prior to the DPRK-U.S. summit, unbridled remarks provoking the other side of dialogue are recklessly made in the U.S. and I am totally disappointed as these constitute extremely unjust behavior.

High-ranking officials of the White House and the Department of State including Bolton, White House national security adviser, are letting loose the assertions of so-called Libya mode of nuclear abandonment, "complete, verifiable and irreversible denuclearization", "total decommissioning of nuclear weapons, missiles, biochemical weapons". etc, while talking about formula of "abandoning nuclear weapons first, compensating afterwards".

This is not an expression of intention to address the issue through dialogue. It is essentially a manifestation of awfully sinister move to impose on our dignified state the destiny of Libya or Iraq which had been collapsed due to yielding the whole of their countries to big powers.

I cannot suppress indignation at such moves of the U.S., and harbor doubt about the U.S. sincerity for improved DPRK-U.S. relations through sound dialogue and negotiations.

World knows too well that our country is neither Libya nor Iraq which have met miserable fate.

It is absolutely absurd to dare compare the DPRK, a nuclear weapon state, to Libya which had been at the initial stage of nuclear development.

We shed light on the quality of Bolton already in the past, and we do not hide our feeling of repugnance towards him.

If the Trump administration fails to recall the lessons learned from the past when the DPRK-U.S. talks had to undergo twists and setbacks owing to the likes of Bolton and turns its ear to the advice of quasi-"patriots" who insist on Libya mode and the like, prospects of upcoming DPRK-U.S. summit and overall DPRK-U.S. relations will be crystal clear.

We have already stated our intention for denuclearization of the Korean peninsula and made clear on several occasions that precondition for denuclearization is to put an end to anti-DPRK hostile policy and nuclear threats and blackmail of the United States.

But now, the U.S. is miscalculating the magnanimity and broad-minded initiatives of the DPRK as signs of weakness and trying to embellish and advertise as if these are the product of its sanctions and pressure.

The U.S. is trumpeting as if it would offer economic compensation and benefit in case we abandon nuke. But we have never had any expectation of U.S. support in carrying out our economic construction and will not at all make such a deal in future, either.

It is a ridiculous comedy to see that the Trump administration, claiming to take a different road from the previous administrations, still clings to the outdated policy on the DPRK - a policy pursued by previous administrations at the time when the DPRK was at the stage of nuclear development.

If President Trump follows in the footsteps of his predecessors, he will be recorded as more tragic and unsuccessful president than his predecessors, far from his initial ambition to make unprecedented success.

If the Trump administration takes an approach to the DPRK-U.S. summit with sincerity for improved DPRK-U.S. relations, it will receive a deserved response from us. However, if the U.S. is trying to drive us into a corner to force our unilateral nuclear abandonment, we will no longer be interested in such dialogue and cannot but reconsider our proceeding to the DPRK-U.S. summit. -0-

KCNA Blasts U.S. and S. Korea for Staging Large-scale Military Drill against DPRK

Pyongyang, May 16 (KCNA) -- KCNA made public the following report on May 16:

The south Korean authorities, together with the U.S., has been staging the largest-ever "2018 Max Thunder" joint air drill throughout south Korea since May 11 in a bid to make a preemptive air strike at the DPRK and win the air.

Involved in the drill are over 100 fighters of various missions including B-52 strategic nuclear bombers and F-22 Raptor stealth fighters under the supervision of the U.S. imperialist aggressor forces in south Korea and the south Korean air force. It is to last till May 25.

Public opinions at home and abroad comment that the maneuver is the largest-ever and a reflection of the invariable stand of the U.S. and south Korea to persist in the "maximum pressure and sanctions" against the DPRK.

The DPRK-targeted drill across south Korea is an undisguised challenge to the Panmunjom Declaration and a deliberate military provocation to the trend of the favorably developing situation on the Korean Peninsula.

The north and the south solemnly declared in the declaration that a new peace era was ushered in and reached an agreement on making joint efforts to defuse the acute military tensions on the peninsula and substantially ease the danger of war and the U.S. also fully supported it.

However, even before the ink of the historic April 27 Declaration got dry, the south Korean authorities and the U.S. started such a drill against the DPRK, reacting to all the peace-loving efforts and good intentions which the DPRK has shown with rude and wicked provocation and arousing serious concern and disappointment among all the fellow countrymen and the international community wanting the declaration to be implemented.

If the U.S. and the south Korean authorities regard the phase of improving inter-Korean ties and the DPRK-U.S. dialogue provided by the proactive and broadminded efforts and measures of the DPRK as something allowed any time and any hour, then they are sadly mistaken.

The south Korean authorities, in particular, resorted to such improper acts quite contrary to the promise to make efforts for the peace, prosperity and reunification on the peninsula together with the north and are allowing even human scum to brazenly hurl mud at the dignity of the supreme leadership of the DPRK and its system and play down the Panmunjom Declaration in front of the building of the "National Assembly".

There is a limit in showing goodwill and offering opportunity.

The historic Panmunjom Declaration cannot be implemented by the unilateral efforts of a single party but can result in a good fruition only when the two parties create favorable conditions and climate by pooling their efforts.

We cannot but take a step of suspending the north-south high-level talks scheduled on May 16 under the prevailing seriously awful situation that a mad-cap north-targeted war and confrontation racket are being kicked up in south Korea.

The south Korean authorities, lost to all senses, should be held wholly accountable for the scuttled north-south high-level talks and the difficulties and obstacles in the way of the north-south relations.

The U.S. will have to think twice about the fate of the DPRK-U.S. summit now on high agenda before a provocative military racket against the DPRK in league with the south Korean authorities.

We will closely watch the ensuing behavior of the U.S. and the south Korean authorities. -0-

Report of Skype Meeting of the ASSPUK, JISGE and UK KFA held on the 14th of May 2018

The Association for the Study of Songun Politics UK(ASSPUK) , Juche Idea Study Group of England (JISGE) and UK KFA (UK KFA ) held a skype meeting on the 14th of May from 19-30 hours to 21-40 hours. It was participated by members from London, Liverpool, Peterborough and Glasgow, Scotland .

The meeting addressed current situation around the Korean peninsula and and also studied the work "Let Us Advance Under the Banner of Marxism-Leninism and the Juche Idea " of the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL

Dr Dermot Hudson chairman of the ASSPUK, chairman of the JISGE and Official Delegate Korean Friendship Association UK KFA opened the meeting . He explained that the inter-Korean summit was successfully held on the 27th of April at Panmunjom thanks to the peace loving efforts of respected Marshal KIM JONG UN who is devoted to achieving reunification . The summit was a manifestation of the Juche-orienated stand on independent reunification of respected Marshal KIM JONG UN. The summit reaffirmed the principle of independence meaning that the US has to withdraw its forces from south Korea. What the April 27th Summit proves is that the Korean nation can solve its issues by itself independently without the need for any third such as the US to get involved in the affairs of the Korean nation.

Dr Hudson said that he hopes that US troops will be withdrawn from south Korea and the National Security Law abolished.

Dr Hudson said the DPRK has taken steps towards peace and to de- escalate the tensions on the Korean peninsula and surrounding region. Now there is DPRK-US dialogue ongoing with a a DPRK-US summit scheduled for June this year. Some people have appraised the issue of holding talks with the US negatively , however respected Marshal KIM JONG UN has successfully demolished anti-DPRK propaganda and demonisation of the DPRK . Hopefully the DPRK-US summit will led to the end of the hostile policy of the US against the DPRK and withdrawal of US troops. Dr Hudson stressed that the US cannot possibly win in its confrontation against Juche Korea and has no choice but to accept the terms of the DPRK . If the US side tries to force unilateral disarmament on the DPRK it will rejected . The summit can end in a number of ways but our job as Juche Idea followers and friends of the DPRK is to put maximum pressure on the US .
Participants in the meeting thanked the chairman for his appraisal of the situation and said they agreed with it.

Dr Hudson introduced the work "Let Us Advance Under the Banner of Marxism-Leninism and the Juche Idea " that was written in 1983 by the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL to mark the 165th anniversary of birth of Karl Marx and the 100th anniversary of the demise of Karl Marx. The work has added significance in this year of the 200th anniversary of the birth of Marx. The great leader comrade KIM JONG IL highly appraised the exploits Marx as both a theoretician and an activist. In the work comrade KIM JONG IL decisively smashes the sophistries of the dogmatists and chauvinists who falsely claim that the DPRK "has disrespected Marxism ". Moreover in the work comrade KIM JONG IL demonstrates the relationship between the Juche Idea and Marxism Leninism. In the work comrade KIM JONG IL stressed the importance of the three revolutions in building socialism . Also comrade KIM JONG IL gave a brilliant analysis of modern imperialism as an oppressive system combining class inequality with national oppression . Dr Hudson said that the work was deserving of wide study and was as relevant as it was when it was written . It shows that comrade KIM JONG IL is a great theoretician .

The UK KFA Communications Secretary said he bought a copy of " Let Us Advance Under the Banner of Marxism-Leninism and the Juche Idea " read it and thought it was a great work . He said we must organise an in depth seminar on the work.

How Human Rights Are Guaranteed in DPRK

Pyongyang, May 15 (KCNA) -- The human rights performance is the most serious problem in the world where many countries and nations and differing ideologies and systems coexist.

A lot of resolutions on the human rights issue have been adopted in countries and regions and international arenas. However, human rights abuses are still reported one after another around the world and conflicts and disputes among nations, tribes and races are getting more serious.

But, in socialist Korea, a good example in guaranteeing the genuine civilization and human rights is being set today when the rights of human being remain serious.

The Workers' Party of Korea established a people-centered state social system, in which the working masses are masters of everything and everything of the state and society serve them.

Under this system which gives top priority to the interests and convenience of the people, the Korean people are enjoying the genuine political, social, economic and cultural rights.

Ordinary citizens of the country such as weaver, miner, peasant and scientist are elected as deputies to the Supreme People's Assembly discussing the state affairs and represent the people's interests.

When many people of the world spend precarious days with worries about health care, education and housing, the DPRK has invariably enforced such people-oriented policies as free medical care, free education and free provision of houses.

The politics of love and trust taking care of the people's destiny in a responsible manner to the last have been enforced at a higher level century after century under the wise guidance of the WPK.

Kim Jong Un, the Supreme Leader of the Korean people, formulated the people-first doctrine as the guiding idea of the WPK and is making a new history of giving priority to the people and respecting and loving them with his warm affection.

The April 2018 Plenary Meeting of the WPK Central Committee set forth a fresh strategic line of concentrating all efforts on the socialist economic construction as well as a new strategic policy of bringing about a revolutionary turn in science and education. This showed its will to more dynamically accelerate the socialist construction and provide the people with a rich and highly-civilized life.

An American journalist, who visited the DPRK, noted in an article that the successes in free education, the fact there is no homeless person and the people's pride and confidence show more vividly the true picture of the DPRK. The Western society, including the U.S., does not know well about the DPRK and, in practice all the visitors to the DPRK were stunned to find that their experience there is utterly different from what they had had in their mind before, the article added.

In fact, the DPRK's socialism guarantees the genuine human rights institutionally, legally and practically. -0-

KCNA Commentary on U.S. Human Rights Racket against DPRK

Pyongyang, May 15 (KCNA) -- What merits attention is the fact that the U.S. is pulling up the DPRK over the "human rights issue", quite contrary to the trend of the situation toward dialogue and peace.

In the "Country Reports on Human Rights Practices for 2017" published in April, the U.S. viciously slandered the DPRK. And on May 3 its State Department went busy, issuing a statement on the occasion of the "free north Korea week".

Some days ago, its vice-president blustered before media that the U.S. administration would never overlook the "worst human rights situation in north Korea".

The Western media comment this as "something unusual", contending that "it is used as a pressure card for denuclearization negotiations".

The hackneyed human rights racket kicked up again by the U.S. before the DPRK-U.S. dialogue is a wanton violation of the dignity and sovereignty of the DPRK, a legitimate sovereign state, and the height of arrogance against the dialogue partner.

The U.S. which took the DPRK's will for dialogue as the result of "sanctions and pressure" has now gone ridiculous to put "pressure over human rights issue" and thus attain its sinister aim at the dialogue venue.

Human rights are not a political bargaining chip and it can not be used for realizing the hegemonic ambition, either.

The U.S. is a country deprived of any qualifications and face to talk about human rights.

So unspeakable are shuddering human rights crimes committed by the U.S. against the Korean people historically including the barbarous massacres committed by it during the last Korean War.

Even today the U.S. is going desperate to deprive the Korean people of the sovereignty and the rights to existence and development through vicious economic blockade and sanctions. It is a mockery of human rights for such a country to trumpet about "human rights performance" in the DPRK.

The U.S., troubled with all sorts of social evils including unrelenting gun-related crimes, social inequality and racial discrimination, is not entitled to raise "human rights" issue of others.

U.S.-style capitalism, a paradise only for a handful of the privileged but a hell for the absolute majority of the toiling masses, will be certainly defeated in the human rights confrontation with Korean-style socialism, a flower garden for the people full of respect and love. This is an immutable truth the proof of which is not necessary.

The U.S. should make efforts to create an atmosphere for mutual respect and confidence before dialogue, not resorting to a foolish farce that may reverse the good trend created with much effort.

It had better mediate over if it can win in the human rights confrontation with the DPRK and stop acting that may have its nose bitten off. -0-
