Pyongyang, November 2 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the National Peace Committee of Korea in a statement Thursday denounced the U.S. and the south Korean puppet warmongers for holding frequent confabs and getting keen on kicking up the war racket for aggression of the DPRK in a bid to bring it down by force.
Recently the U.S. Defense Secretary Mattis and the puppet Defense Minister Song Yong Mu at the 49th annual consultative meeting in Seoul had a discussion on such issues as sharing information on "missile threats from north Korea", the operation of THAAD deployed in south Korea, the expansion of the cyclic deployment of the U.S. strategic assets on the Korean peninsula, and intensifying joint military exercises like the U.S. nuclear carrier task force drill, ballistic missile warning drill and anti-submarine drill, and agreed to further mutual cooperation.
Earlier, the chairmen of the U.S. and the puppet Joint Chiefs of Staff at the 42nd military commission session discussed the way of joint operation to cope with the "nuclear and missile threats from north Korea", measure for strengthening mutual operation of combined command control system C41 and the way of revising joint operational plan targeting the DPRK "OPLAN 5015".
This proves that the meetings described as annual ones were just dangerous military gatherings to spur the frantic moves for a nuclear war against the DPRK, the statement said, adding:
Being taken aback by the might of the DPRK, the U.S. thinks of holding the puppet forces under its tighter control under the pretext of "tightened alliance" and use them as cannon fodder for a war of aggression against the DPRK. This is the invariable purpose of the U.S. The puppet forces, on the other hand, seek to rise from their military inferiority with the help of their master and thus realize their ambition for the invasion of the north. This is their foolish ambition.
What should not be overlooked is that the confabs were held at a time when the U.S. is straining the tension to the maximum by introducing three nuclear carrier strike groups and nuclear strategic assets into waters off the Korean peninsula and around it.
The U.S. and the puppet forces' increased military nexus will only reveal their disgusting nature as warmongers destroying peace on the Korean peninsula and the region.

Pyongyang, November 2 (KCNA) -- Japan is behaving childish while dancing to the tunes of the U.S. keen on stifling the DPRK.
Recently the Japanese authorities let the TV Asahi report that a "pit collapsed" in Phunggye-ri nuclear test ground, claiming lives of a great number of people. They even let it release a false report that the cause of the collapse is thought to be attributable to the "nuclear test".
This clearly proves that the U.S. and the Japanese reactionaries have gone desperate to slander the DPRK politically and morally, now that they find it hard to check the DPRK's development of a nuclear force through military threat and barbarous sanctions.
The DPRK, which made the development of a nuclear force at a high stage after having access to even H-bomb with its own efforts and technology, becomes the might representing independence and justice for the world progressive people but deadly sledge-hammer blow to the enemies.
Whenever the DPRK took measures for bolstering the capabilities for self-defence to put a fundamental end to the U.S. hostile policy toward it, the Japanese reactionaries, not knowing where to draw line, spoke for the U.S. and went busy, getting vociferous about "threats" from someone. Unrelenting Candlelight Resistance
South Korean people launched a massive campaign for eradicating evils of the former conservative regime, reforming the society and achieving peace of the Korean Peninsula in various parts of south Korea on Oct. 28 on the lapse of one year since the popular resistance broke out to oust Park Geun-hye.
There was a "meeting marking the first anniversary of the candlelight actions" under the sponsorship of the memorial committee of the people's emergency action for ousting the Park Geun-hye regime at the Gwanghwamun Plaza in Seoul.
The Confederation of Trade Unions organized a "workers' meeting for making a world without irregular jobs" at the Gwanghwamun Plaza.
The candlelight action last year was the action to change workplaces and lives for the workers, however, the rights of the part-time workers is lamentable though master of the Cheongwadae was replaced, they said.
They urged the south Korean authorities to abolish the part-time jobs and provide the rights to trade unions activities and three-point labor rights.
Timed to coincide with that event, youth and students organizations held rallies urging the regime to provide the youngsters with jobs and residence.
A youth organization called a press conference in Seoul at which they demanded suffrage of the youth and students.
The South Korean Federation of University Students in the 21st Century and the University Consultative Council for Democracy and Independent Reunification sponsored a rally of university students calling for inheriting the spirit of the candlelight actions in front of the Sejong Cultural Hall.
The South Side Committee for Implementing June 15 Joint Declaration held a rally and sit-in strike criticizing Trump's visit to south Korea.
Various social organizations held a rally near the Gwanghwamun Plaza demanding the eradication of evils in media field and the building of a society based on equality free from all sorts of discrimination.
There was a mammoth rally of sixty thousands of people of various circles in Seoul and from across south Korea at the Gwanghwamun Plaza to mark the first anniversary of the candlelight actions.
Participants expressed their will to carry on their candlelight actions and bring about a new world, chanting slogans.
Ten thousands of citizens gathered at Youido of Seoul for a rally.
Similar events also took place in Gwangju, Changwon of South Gyeongsang Province and other provinces.
The victory of candlelight action goes to prove that the dishonest force swimming against the public feeling and situation is bound to meet a miserable end and no force can arrest the advance of people united with justice and truth.
The candlelight resistance ousted Park, however, the people’s desire for a new politics, a new world, a new life has not been realized.
The current situation shows that the candlelight action will be intensified.

Korea-Europe Association Spokesperson Blasts NATO Secretary General for His Rubbish

During his recent visit to Japan, the secretary general of NATO absurdly claimed that he was concerned about the north Korean missiles which are capable of reaching most parts of Europe and the western states of the U.S. and that the nuclear and missile programme of north Korea is a threat to Europe and the rest of the world that demands international response.
Before leaving for Japan he had an interview with Japanese media at which he said that NATO had the resolve and capability to strike back to protect its member states from the ballistic missiles of north Korea, and that north Korea should be made to pay if it continued to pursue nuclear and missile development.
It is a wicked sophistry of turning things upside down to condemn our possession of nukes as "a threat to Europe and the rest of the world".
The confrontation between the DPRK and the U.S. whereby the U.S. poses nuclear threat to the DPRK while considering it a hostile country and the DPRK stands up to the U.S. to defend the dignity and sovereignty of the country and nation; this is the true picture of the situation on the Korean peninsula.
As we have made it clear on several occasions including the UN General Assembly, the DPRK has no intention of using or threatening to use its nuclear weapons against any other countries as long as they do not take part in the U.S. military action against the DPRK. The intention of the secretary general of NATO who denies the essence of the Korean peninsula issue and makes a U.S. stooge of himself cannot be construed otherwise than pursuing a wicked aim of a certain kind.
His deliberate promotion of the idea of "threats of north Korean missiles on Europe" implies that he is anxious to instigate NATO member states into confrontation with the DPRK and create an atmosphere favorable for NATO's involvement in the war when it breaks out on the Korean peninsula.
The NATO secretary general should be fully aware that his reckless acts of kowtowing to the U.S. would only bring danger to Europe, and he had better behave with discretion. -0-
