Some thoughts on the Kenneth Bae issue

The stories about Kenneth Bae being ill treated in the DPRK have been made up as the press conference he gave proves it. Bae was arrested in the DPRK for serious offences which could have meant the death penalty as he acted as a spy for US imperialism and a counter-revolutionary who tried to overthrow the socialist system of the DPRK . Bae was treated in the Pyongyang Friendship Hospital which is normally used by tourists in the DPRK (I myself had my teeth done there in 2002) , Bae was able to correspond with his family and even receive visits . He looks well , in fact he looks like he put on weight , hardly an overworked starvation victim . There are stories of old age pensioners starving to death in UK hospitals so Bae , a criminal , received better treatment than they did . Bae was allowed to hold a press conference and was not handcuffed to guards, Would Britain and the US allow the same for a prisoner convicted of serious offences ?. It is likely that as Bae confessed to serious crime he may be granted a pardon or released as part of a general DPRK prisoner amnesty on an important anniversary but of course his case may be complicated by the hostile anti DPRK policy of the US such as holding provocative military exercises and the lies and slanders about the socialist system of the DPRK spread by the US and other Western media.

Kenneth Bae says " there has been no human rights abuse"

 Pyongyang, January 20 (KCNA) -- An American criminal, Kenneth Bae, was interviewed by local and foreign reporters at the Pyongyang Friendship Hospital Monday at his request.
    He said he called the press conference to clarify some facts.
    Over the past 15 months he, through meeting with officials of the Swedish embassy and calls and correspondence with his family, he correctly informed the U.S. government and his family of his criminal acts and humanitarian measures taken by the DPRK government in his behalf, he said, adding:
    But some media are spreading misinformation about me and launching smear campaign against the DPRK, driving me into a difficult situation.
    For example, the U.S. vice-president, at a press conference over the release of another U.S. citizen, Mr. Newman, in December last year, claimed that I have been detained here for no reason.
    Some time ago even my sister reportedly told reporters that I am not guilty. I think such facts enraged people here.
    This is why I am in a puzzle.
    Over the past five months I have been hospitalized, but now I am afraid I may be sent back to the labor camp. Worse still, I am afraid the pardon for me becomes more difficult.
    To cite another example, I was told that some media reports alleged that the DPRK is a "human rights violator", its human rights records are not good and that I have been treated unfairly.
    What I would like to clarify here now is that there has been no human rights abuse and no unfair, severe act for me.
    The DPRK government has done every possible thing for me from the humanitarian point of view. It allowed me to contact with the Swedish embassy and have correspondence and calls with my family. It also gave me an opportunity to meet my mother here and offered me a medical service at the hospital when my disease got worse.
    I, availing myself of this opportunity, call on the U.S. government, media and my family to stop link any smear campaign against the DPRK and false materials with me, making my situation worse.
    I hope that I will be pardoned by the DPRK and go back to my family. I request the U.S. government, media and my family to pay deep concern and make all efforts to this end.

Advantageous Social System in DPRK Praised by Russian Political Party

Pyongyang, January 19 (KCNA) -- The Communist Workers Party of Russia affiliated to the Communist Party of the Soviet Union posted an article titled "Social phenomena peculiar to the DPRK" on its website on January 9.
The article under the subtitles "People who don't know house prices", "Section doctor system", "No jobless people" and "Dignity of women" said:
Foreigners admire Changjon Street in Pyongyang after touring it.
It is because the majority of citizens living there are ordinary people and they do not know about the house prices at all. On the contrary, they ask foreigners about the house prices in the West.
It is unimaginable in the West that an ordinary worker buys a deluxe flat like the one in Changjon Street.
The DPRK has long enforced the section doctor system.
Doctors in the DPRK are totally responsible to the health of the citizens they are in charge of.
An ordinance on enforcing the universal compulsory 12-year education was adopted at the 6th session of the 12th Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK in 2012.
What is important is that all these are free of charge.
There are no jobless people in the DPRK. There is neither a signboard of "employment agency" nor anyone who finds out a job through papers and websites. Moreover, there is no one wandering about streets.
Only voices calling for working harder for the country and prosperity of society are loudly heard in the DPRK and one can never hear voices condemning or cursing its social system.
This is because there are no such conditions to lash them into fury as doctor's fee, house prices and taxes in the DPRK.
The slogan of "Everything for the people and everything by relying on them!" has been applied in all fabrics of social life in the DPRK.
It is fundamentally different from the capitalist world where the jungle law prevails and money is everything. -0-

DPRK MAKES SIGNIFICANT PEACE PROPOSALS BUT SOUTH KOREA -REJECTS THEM

So we now we know who is for peace and who is for war on the Korean peninsula . On the 16th of January the National Defence Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea put forward a set of crucial proposals aimed at heading off an escalation of tension on the Korean peninsula caused the decision of the US and south Korea to go ahead with the hated and controversial Foal Eagle and Key Resolve war exercises at the end of February. The proposals contained measures like halting mutual slander and recrimination as well as the obvious one of cancelling the exercises. If implemented these proposals would have gone a long way to creating a peaceful atmosphere and bringing about reunification  No one could be against these peoples, no one who wants peace in Korea and the world could reject but what happened, oh yes south Korea rejected the proposals even the right wing American Fox News had the headline "South Korea rejects North Korea's conciliatory offer".
          Instead of talking about peace south Korea instead said they would "unsparingly" punish the DPRK. What kind of response is this to a peace overture The US took a similar stand. The US is moving more and more troops and hardware to south Korea and the south Korean puppets are engaging a massive military build -up.No the US who pulls the strings of south Korea told them not to cancel Foal Eagle and Key Resolve because the exercises form a key part of US strategy in Korea.The US and their south Korean puppets have no interest in peace, they only want a war to destroy the DPRK.
