The Association For the Study of Songun Politics UK (ASSPUK), the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea, the Korean Friendship Association  of  the UK  KFA UK  ), and the British Solidarity Committee for Peace and Reunification in Korea (BSCPRKP)issued the following joint statement in support of the statement of the spokesman of the General Staff of the Korean People's Army(KPA) of the 18th of August ;

The US imperialists despite previous warnings have continued their illegal aerial espionage against People's Korea, gravely infringing upon the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) .

On Thursday 17th of August, the spy plane of the U.S. forces made a repeat circuitous flight above the sea 520 km east of Wonsan and 430 km east of Tanchon from 5:38 a.m. to 6:37 a.m. on August 17 and intruded into the economic water zone of the DPRK side to a maximum depth of 14 km three times to conduct espionage on the eastern and in-depth areas of the DPRK. These are very dangerous actions by the US imperialists profoundly destabilising peace and security on the Korean peninsula.

The US spy plane was forced to retreat owing to the active countermeasures of the air force of the KPA.

The statement of the spokesman of the KPA General Staff clarifies that the KPA will make a decisive physical response should any more US reconnaissance planes intrude into the airspace of the DPRK above the economic zone of the DPRK.

We support the KPA General Staff's warning. The US should immediately desist from sending spy planes into DPRK airspace!

US HANDS OFF PEOPLE'S KOREA!
