From the Korean Committee For Cultural Relations on the 26th anniversary of the passing away of the great leader President Kim Il Sung

the day of July 8th, the 26th anniversary of demise of the great leader comrade Kim Il Sung, approaches by every day, with an irresistible yearning for a nation's father we come to recollect with deep emotions the immortal exploits performed during his lifetime.

Looking back to his noble life, we cannot stop admiring him. Indeed, he was the great man of all greats recognized and revered by not only the Korean people, but the whole world.

The chairman of the Swedish Communist Labour Party in 1990s, wrote once about President Kim Il Sung's exploits as follows: "There is a world-famous 'one thousand nights' story, but to turn the President's imprints left in the foreign relations arena into the night stories, even ten thousand nights would not be sufficient."

It would not stand to reason to try to have all episodes from the President's foreign activities on this email, so today we will confine in delivering a story about his noble human love and faithfulness.

You probably still have in memories an incident related to Erich Honecker, taken place upon an absorption unification of GDR by Western Germany. When he was caught in a difficult situation at his age of 80 having just had cardiac surgery, it was only our President Kim Il Sung who didn't forget the treasured friendship with him and organized a special flight to bring him to Korea for his treatment and took necessary measures for an intensive diplomatic offensive to make the world recognize an adequacy of humanitarian aid rendered to him by Korea.

The then member of the Supreme Council of the National United Party of Malaysia commented on this incident as follows: "Respect to the President's fidelity.

When Honecker was in power, every country welcomed him as a state guest, but once was thrown out from the power, he was just dismissed. …

I'm so impressed that your country treasured friendship with him and agreed to receive him and provide treatment."

The US journalist addressed to President his letter:

"Y.E. President, I am so amazed that you took a humanitarian measure for Honecker, who was found in a miserable destiny. Respect for this.

When Honecker was brought back from the power and became no more valid as a politician, all his allies dismissed him, but it was only you, Y.E. President.

Y.E. President,

What makes me so impressed is your noble benevolence shown towards the old friends regardless the outcome of their destiny. This great sense of fidelity is hardly found in our current world."

Indeed, the human love, benevolence and fragrance as a human being, all embodied in our President Kim Il Sung, was so deep and wide to mesmerize even the politicians from the hostile countries.

Thus in 1994 the US ex-president Jimmy Carter, after having met President Kim Il Sung, stated that President Kim Il Sung was greater than George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and Abraham Lincoln, the most illustrious in the founding and development of the US, put together.

And when President Kim Il Sung passed away in July 8th 1994, the French President Francois Mitterrand recalled President Kim Il Sung as the great state marshal, stating that he was the most outstanding great person among all active politicians known from the World War II."
