Eternal Sun of the Nation

When July comes every year, Korea is pervaded with the irresistible yearnings for President Kim Il Sung who devoted all his life to the national reunification.

Korea’s reunification was the cause of the President’s lifetime and his greatest desire.

He embraced the nation with ardent love for the nation and broad magnanimity. Regardless of their idea, political view, religion and class, he led the all people, who love the nation and want national reunification, to the road of national reunification.

On the first day of 1994, the President said as following. “To reunify the country is our nation’s supreme task which brooks no further delay. We must accomplish the cause of national reunifi­cation as soon as possible, so as to meet the unanimous, ardent desire of the entire nation and hand down a reunified country to the generations to come.” And he made devoted efforts in his last year to make a turning-point in achieving the national reunification.

He created favorable conditions to arrange the first inter-Korean summit conference by devoting his tireless efforts for the successful meeting.

The monument to his last autograph dated on July 7, 1994 related to the national reunification in Panmunjom tells his immortal feats.

The President dedicated his all to the reunification and prosperity of the nation until his last moments.

President Kim Il Sung, who aroused the nation to the glorious patriotic struggle for the national unity and reunification, is the eternal sun of the Korean nation.

His sacred life of the peerless patriot is riveted in the hearts of the south Korean people and their ardent yearning for the President is very high.

Chairman Kim Jong Il saw to it that the monument to the President’s last autograph was built in Panmunjom as a symbol of reunification and defined three principles of independence, peaceful reunification, and great national unity for national reunification, the 10-point program for the great unity of the whole nation and the proposal for founding a Democratic Federal Republic of Koryo as the three charters for national reunification.

Now, led by supreme leader Kim Jong Un, the lodestar of the national reunification, all the Korean people are confident of reunification, lifelong desire of President Kim Il Sung. It is the steadfast will of the supreme leader to carry out the instructions of the President and the Chairman for Korea’s reunification without fail no matter how hard difficulties and obstacles hinder the reunification movement.

The entire Korean people should get united around the supreme leader and accelerate the campaign to open up a broad avenue to reunification under the banner of By the Korean Nation Itself.
