STATEMENT ON THE 20TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE FOUNDATION OF THE KOREAN FRIENDSHIP ASSOCIATION -Staffordshire KFA

                                                  

The Staffordshire Branch of the UK KFA wishes to send to all the affiliates of the organisation in various countries of the world our warmest greetings on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of formation of the Korean Friendship Association. On November 13th, 2000 the Korean Friendship Association was established by Alejandro Cao Benos Les y Perez and from humble beginnings has become a global phenomenon. The Korean Friendship Association is now regarded as the premier voice of solidarity with the Korean people both online and in the real-time arena. Twenty years after the KFA was setup, there are official branches in 34 countries and the reach of the KFA stretches to 120 nations, with a worldwide membership of about 17,000. During the intervening two decades, the KFA has promoted the issues of peace and reunification on the Korean peninsula and solidarity with the Socialist Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea online, conducted pickets and demonstrations calling for peace in Korea, arranged cultural events and exhibitions about the DPRK and organised tours to the DPRK. One of the greatest contributions made by the KFA to the cause of solidarity with the Korean people was to introduce the topics of the defence of the DPRK to whole new generations of activists.

Due to the apparent success of the KFA in its work of promoting the DPRK and the issues of Korean reunification to a mass audience the retrograde forces are attempting silence the voice of friendship with the Korean people. There have been motley attempts to shut up the KFA and intimidate  the officials and the rank & file membership of the KFA by the reactionary elements. No amount of underhand manoeuvres made by the agent provocateurs and the hired quislings can halt the activities of the KFA and the stop the cause of peace. We stand with Alejandro Cao de Benos and our branch send our warmest salutations to the KFA President.

Politics is a unifying force in Juche Korea

                               

 

Politics in Western countries can be a deeply divisive and even unpleasant business . In Britain there used to be  maxim 'never mention , politics , religion or sport ' and discussing politics over Sunday lunch was seen as bad form . Indeed politics has been known to divide families .

  However in one country in the world ,at least , politics are actually a unifying force  rather than a divisive force . That country is People's Korea where everyone is united around the Juche idea and the Workers Party of  Korea guided by respected Marshal KIM JONG UN . The Juche idea cements society into a harmonious ,integral whole . This is unknown in Western countries and is severely misunderstood by many in the West  who wrongly see it as 'totalitarian ' . Such views are prompted by fear and jealously .

 DPRK society is run on the noble principle of 'One for all and All for One  !" , so everyone does his bit for society and pulls his or her weight . Young volunteer for difficult construction projects . Moreover the DPRK is an egalitarian society , everyone has a stake in society , there is no alienated underclass or lumpen proletariat. There is no public disorder in People's Korea .

 United by the Juche Idea instead of being divided  the Korean people have achieved great things and will achieve even greater things in the future .

KCNA Commentary on Japan's Dangerous Moves for Overseas Expansion

 

Pyongyang, November 7 (KCNA) -- The Japanese defense minister recently told the press that Japan would strive to develop stealth fighter of next generation to be deployed in the 2030s.

The Japanese regime was quoted by the British newspaper Independent as terming the development of the next generation fighter known as F-X a project for beefing up the military muscle to cope with the increasing threats from China and north Korea. The Japanese defense ministry reportedly demanded 556 million US dollars as military budget for 2021.

Japan has stepped up the development of next generation stealth fighter under the pretext of "tackling a threat" from the DPRK. This is a dangerous military move to speed up the modernization of its armed forces and open up a prelude to overseas expansion through reinvasion of Korea.

Historically, Japan is a criminal state that existed on invasion, war and plunder.

The wars for conquest ignited by Japan in the last century were all prompted by the aggressive policies to colonize and enslave other countries and nations. They were not aimed to tackle "outside threat".

Since its defeat, the rulers of Japan have pursued militarism to realize the daydream of the "Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere" by stretching out its tentacles of aggression to the continent again.

Japan's long-propelled moves for building a military giant have turned Japan's military into the perfect forces for attack beyond the boundary of home defense. Japan's military muscle has undergone striking changes in quality and quantity.

This year alone, it established a space operation unit and fleet information team within the "Self-Defense Forces." It is busy with forming new units including a specialized education unit and a specialized electronic warfare unit to found a cyber defense unit.

While deploying many updated missiles at vantage points of the archipelago, Japan is conducting military drills under the pretext of defending and retaking remote islands in a bid to improve the capacity for fighting an actual war.

Japan seeks to develop and introduce next generation fighters, and other military hardware for both attack and defense. Such weapon systems are all for a war of aggression as they are long-range attack means.

Purchase of U.S.-made weapons for a preemptive attack, launching of a new-type submarine, arms buildup aimed at possessing the "ability for attacking enemy base" and regular overseas dispatch of SDF constitute wanton violations of the Japanese constitution with "exclusive defense" as its backbone and of international conventions stipulating the position of a war criminal state.

The bandit-like descendants of Samurais are saying the defense capacity just means possession of attack power strong enough to "prevent invasion from outside." Such absurd theory can never work.

If Japan ignites a war to reinvade the Korean peninsula, it will meet bitterer defeat. -0-

As you have heard from TV and News, now many countries in the world are suffering from the heavy rain and flood. These caused many deaths and losses. Even our country is no exception. The Continuous hit of heavy rain and typhoons in recent days brought big disasters to our people and these caused also some flood victims, too.

But now new houses have been built in those disaster areas and this is the thrilling reality of our country. The Korean people do not care about any natural disaster since the Workers Party of Korea(WPK) has done everything for them, regarding it as its duty and as the most important affair to take full responsibility for the people's destiny and look after their life.

To Korean people, the WPK's was the care of President Kim Il Sung and chairman Kim Jong Il and is the care of Supreme Leader comrade Kim Jong Un.

When various areas of the country were continuously hit by heavy rain and typhoons, the WPK provided better new houses to the flood victims.

This year the country came to undergo trials due to consecutive disasters as flood and typhoon as well as pandemic COVID-19. Anyhow, the WPK's love for the people remains unchanged and has grown warmer.

Agendas discussed at the Politburo and Executive Policy Council meetings of the WPK Central Committee this year, that were held several times, were all on the measures for safeguarding the people from the worldwide pandemic and natural disasters and stabilizing their livelihood.

Visiting flood-hit Taechong-ri in Unpa County of North Hwanghae Province and typhoon-affected areas in South Hwanghae and South Hamgyong provinces, supreme Leader took steps to dispatch the divisions of Party members in the capital city and other strong building forces to the disaster areas across the country to provide the victims with better living conditions.

That's why the people of the DPRK are calling the WPK their mother fully responsible for their destiny and future.

As this WPK, which our people call mother, is existing, our people are leading happy life and firmly believe their future will be surely bright.

KCNA Commentary Slams Japan's Projected Constitutional Revision

 

Pyongyang, November 5 (KCNA) -- The Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) of Japan desperately pursues the constitutional revision to specify the existence of the "Self-Defense Forces."

A draft-making commission established within the headquarters for promoting the constitutional revision officially announced that it would draw up a detailed draft of four items such as "stipulation of the SDF in constitution" and "tackling of emergency situation" until the end of the year, before submitting it to the Diet for examination.

This is a dangerous and foolish act to make a legal foothold for overseas invasion and bring the dark clouds of a war of aggression by speeding up the revision of the constitution which the previous regime failed to realize.

As a war criminal state and defeated nation in the Second World War, Japan is banned from having its regular army and exercising the right of belligerency.

This is clearly specified in Article 9, the core of its current constitution.

By amending that article, the Japanese reactionaries seek to vest the SDF with the legal status of a regular army and make sure that the SDF carries out military operations in any parts of the world, unbound by domestic law.

Herein lies the reason why the Suga regime is doggedly pursuing the constitutional revision to turn Japan into a military giant and perfect the legal and institutional mechanism for overseas invasion.

PM Suga is egging on the LDP to "buckle down to the revision", while openly touting the "succession of the Abe's line."

He also makes vicious attempts to gag the academic circles voicing objection to the revision.

The pro-revision reactionary forces of Japan have come under strong protests and rejection at home and abroad for their risky moves for making a war constitution.

Opposition parties remain averse to the regime's projected constitutional revision, terming it a senseless and intolerable act running counter to long-standing rules and procedures of the constitution-screening body. They are also questioning whether the revision of the constitution is really needed.

The Japanese reactionaries should lend an ear to the anti-revision voices at home and immediately stop the revision of the constitution aimed at turning Japan into a war-capable country.

If Japan persists in swimming against the trend of the times, it will never be able to clear itself of the infamy as an "enemy nation" and war criminal state. -0-

11th Plenary Meeting of 14th Presidium of DPRK SPA Held

                                                                         

                                              

Pyongyang, November 5 (KCNA) -- The 11th Plenary Meeting of the 14th Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly (SPA) of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) took place at the Mansudae Assembly Hall on Nov. 4.

Choe Ryong Hae, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, first vice-chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and president of the SPA Presidium, presided over the meeting.

It was attended by Thae Hyong Chol and Pak Yong Il, vice-presidents of the SPA Presidium, Ko Kil Son, secretary general of the SPA Presidium, and members of the SPA Presidium.

Brought up for discussion at the meeting were agendas "On Adopting Tobacco-Prohibition Law of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea" and "On Revising and Supplementing the Law on Enterprises of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea".

The gist of the two agendas, discussed at the Legislation Committee of the SPA, was introduced.

The tobacco-prohibition law with 31 provisions stipulates the rules which all the institutions, organizations and citizens must follow in protecting the lives and health of the people and providing more cultured and hygienic living environments by tightening the legal and social controls on the production and sale of cigarettes and on smoking as required by the state tobacco-prohibition policy.

The law specifies places and units in which smoking is forbidden, such as places for political and ideological education, public places including theaters and cinemas, and the institutions for nursing and upbringing children, education ones, medical and public health facilities, commercial and public catering ones, public transport means. It also indicates penalties for violating smoking rules and others.

The revision and supplements to the enterprise law newly stipulate contents of making enterprises labor-, energy-, cost-, and land-saving ones and of making the employees patriotic working people who regard the spirit of economy as part of their mental qualities.

The enterprise law refers to issues which all the units must observe when organizing new enterprises or when their affiliations change. It also stipulates that the production and business management must be done under the unified guidance and strategic control of the state and on socialist principles.

The meeting deeply considered those agendas and had an exchange of views on them.

Decrees of the SPA Presidium "On Adopting Tobacco-Prohibition Law of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea" and "On Revising and Supplementing the Law on Enterprises of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea" were adopted with unanimous approval at the plenary meeting. -0-
