Amnesty to Be Applied to Convicts in DPRK
Pyongyang, January 10 (KCNA) -- The DPRK will apply amnesty to convicts from February 1 on the occasion of the centenary of birth of President Kim Il Sung and the 70th birth anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il, according to a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK on Jan. 5.
The Cabinet and relevant organs will take working measures for those to be released thanks to the amnesty to work and live under stable conditions.
It is the steadfast will of the Workers' Party of Korea and state to embody generation after generation the noble benevolent and all-embracing politics of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il who energetically worked till the last moments of their great lives, undergoing all sufferings for the people's happiness throughout them, always finding themselves among them, the decree said. -0-

Having lost so suddenly the leader KIM JONG IL, the Korean people are now resolved to turn their bitter pain and sorrow into immense strength and vigour only by following the guidance of General KIM JONG UN.
2012 (Juche 101) is the centenary year of the birth of the Respected President KIM IL SUNG. Implementing the tasks put forward in the joint editorial, the Korean people will glorify the year 2012 by increasing independent class consciousness and by further improving living standards. The gate to the construction of the great, prosperous and powerful socialist country will be realised by the heroic and revolutionary Korean people, by the people of KIM IL SUNG's nation.
Imperialism and its puppets are still threatening the peace and security of the Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea. Respected general KIM JONG UN is a dynamic leader and great successor
General KIM JONG UN ,supreme commander of the Korean People's Army and vice-chairman of the Central Military Commission of the Workers' Party of Korea is indeed the great successor to the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL ,sun of Songun. General KIM JONG UN is the youngest world leader, he can contribute dynamism, energy and fortitude and militancy.
General KIM JONG UN took measures to take care for those mourning the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL. The measures were very impressive indeed, in fact unprecedented in the world.
General KIM JONG UN is also continuing the cause of the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL . The DPRK NDC declared it was foolish to expect a change, thus delivering a blow against the imperialists .

Year of Worsened Social Inequality and Contradictions for Capitalist World
Pyongyang, January 8 (KCNA) -- Last year witnessed worsened social inequality and contradictions in the capitalist world.
An average of 411 500 people were registered as new unemployed in every week of October last year in the U.S.
The U.S. Labor Department quoted a survey as saying the number of jobless people across the country stood at 13.3 million as of early in November.
Japan had 2.92 million unemployed and EU member countries 23.554 million toiling people jobless as of October last year.
The deepening unemployment crisis brought pain and poverty to the majority of toiling masses.
Early in November last year, the Census Bureau of the U.S. announced that the number of the poverty-stricken people reached 49.1 million. The needy people of them were about 20 million.
More than 12.6 million and 8 million people are spending every day in despair and pain below the poverty line in Germany and Italy.
The horrible crimes committed in the capitalist world last year brought deep-rooted social contradictions and antagonism into bolder relief.
The hideous crime that happened in a city of Belgium on December 13 clearly showed the reality of the capitalist world which saw in and out a year amid social evils.
The waves of demonstrations which swept the capitalist countries were an eruption of the people's anger at the worsening social contradictions as evidenced by the jobless rate growing due to the deepening economic crisis and the widening gap between the rich and poor.
People from all walks of life in the capitalist countries are still on sit-in strikes in tents in plazas and parks in cold, becoming increasingly critical of social inequality festering due to the limitless greed of the capitalists.
As the protest of the popular masses gained momentum, police in different parts of the U.S. rushed to brutally suppress the anti- capitalism demonstrations.
They removed all the tents of the demonstrators, while indiscriminately arresting protestors.
This goes to clearly prove that the "freedom of speech" and "freedom of demonstration and assembly" touted by the capitalist countries are no more than hypocrisy.
Social contradictions and antagonism are the incurable diseases of the capitalist system. Due to this malignant cancer, the capitalist world is plunging deeper into a bottomless abyss of ruin day by day. -0-

UK KFA plus ASSPUK and JISGE slam south Korean puppets suppression of POMMINRYON activists

The UK Korean Friendship Association together with the ASSPUK and JISGE were shocked to learn very recently that the south Korean fascist puppet regime of Lee Myung Bak has repressed Mr Ri Kyu Jae, the chairman and two other leading members of the South Headquarters of the Pan-national Alliance for Korea’s Reunification Pomminryon) . This is an outrageous fascist action.
What is of particular concern is that they were arrested and tried because they had attempted to go to Pyongyang in order to pay respects to the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL who had unexpectedly passed away. To us it seems inconcievable that anyone should not only block people from attending but arrest and legally try them for doing so. The repressive action of the south Korean puppets is worse than that of the British authorities during the northern Ireland troubles, of the Apartheid regime of south Africa, Pinochets Chile etc. It is on par with Hitlers Germany and a crude and cheap imitation of McCarthyism in the US.
This action comes after many arrests of pro reunification patriots and progressives in south Korea and the jaling of the Rev Han Sang Ryol and some long term progressive prisoners remain in south Korea.
We demand that Mr Ri Kyu Jae and his colleagues are freed immediately !

S. Korean Puppet Group Urged to Release Unreasonably Detained Pro-Reunification Patriots
Pyongyang, January 6 (KCNA) -- The North Headquarters of the Pan-national Alliance for Korea's Reunification released a statement on Friday lashing out at the south Korean puppet group for imposing severe penalties on pro-reunification patriots including the chairman of the South Headquarters of the alliance during the mourning period at a court.
It said:
The south Korean authorities on Dec. 22 last year brought to a trial Chairman Ri Kyu Jae and two other leading members of the South Headquarters of the Pan-national Alliance for Korea's Reunification (Pomminryon) to impose severe penalties upon them after labeling their activities for implementation of the north-south joint declarations and legitimate contacts with the north as "enemy-benefiting" ones.
The trial ended up putting in custody the chairman and the former secretary-general of the Headquarters.
Upon hearing the sad news of the demise of leader
When heavily-armed puppet soldiers blocked their way, they offered strong resistance, shouting "We are on way to Pyongyang to mourn the passing of Chairman of the National Defence Commission
Such activities of the South Headquarters of Pomminryon were quite natural because they were an eruption of its boundless reverence for the father of the nation who brought about a new phase of independent reunification by providing the historic June 15 joint declaration and October 4 declaration and a manifestation of its firm will to share sorrow with compatriots.
The North Headquarters of Pomminryon vehemently denounces the puppet group's fascist suppression as an immoral behavior towards the great loss to the nation and the most hideous crimes against ethics and an unpardonable challenge to the Koreans aspiring after reunification, missing the father of the nation very much.
The bitter tears shed by the Koreans are by no means tears of grief and all Koreans will, therefore, convert the present sorrow into towering indignation and thus punish the group of traitors without fail.
No matter how desperately the puppet group may work, it can never bar Pomminryon, a vanguard organization of the movement for national reunification, from courageously paving the rugged path for independent reunification under the banner of "By the Korean nation itself".
The group should immediately release the unreasonably detained members of the South Headquarters of Pomminryon and other pro-reunification patriots. -0
