KCNA Commentary on War Maniacs' Reckless Moves

Pyongyang, April 2 (KCNA) -- The DPRK has already and clearly warned that the U.S. and south Korea's military bluff and temerity do not work on it at all and such moves are no more than a wrong behavior of bringing themselves closer to a grave danger.

But the warmongers' desperate acts are going to the extremes.

The U.S. and south Korea staged large-scale joint military exercises, Freedom Shield, simulating an all-out war against the DPRK for 11 days from March 13, the longest-ever period. Their war hysteria is running up to the climax along with the start of Ssangyong, a joint landing drill.

The U.S. staged an air-to-air live firing and air-to-surface bombing drill, aimed at raising the capability of precision strike at the DPRK's "core targets", in the West Sea of Korea with involvement of the south Korean puppet air force and the 51st combat air division of the 7th U.S. air force for five days from March 20 when the Ssangyong drill was launched. Then, it conducted a joint tactical drill for "occupying city" of the DPRK with involvement of the south Korean puppet armed forces for four days from March 26.

The Ssangyong drill, which involved dozens of warships and other vessels including the U.S. navy's amphibious assaulting ship Makin Island laden with scores of F-35B stealth fighters, various types of fighters and amphibious assaulting armored cars, the U.S. 1st Marine Expeditionary Unit and the U.S. nuclear carrier Nimitz, to be additionally dispatched first from the U.S. mainland in case of contingency on the Korean peninsula, the special warfare units of its satellite countries and the south Korean puppet armed forces, went through a provocative phase called "decisive action".

The "decisive action" drill, allegedly core of the landing operation, was staged by the vast combined forces of the U.S. and the south Korean puppet military conducting under a large-scale firing support for landing target area, the landing, assault and occupation of targets by turns in the air and sea.

With the beginning of the drill, special warfare units of the U.S., south Korean puppet forces and satellite countries launched a "landing attack" by using C-130 transport planes and on the coast, marine shock forces on landing crafts "advanced" into an area simulating the territory of the DPRK by amphibious assaulting armored cars and LCACs.

In the "decisive action" drill, combined marines were to land in the relevant area under the fire support of fighters and warships of the U.S. and south Korean puppet forces and then move to the target area to capture and secure the beachhead and fulfill their mission. Finally, it was a war drill for aggression to occupy the DPRK's territory through preemptive attack from A to Z.

Meanwhile, two B-52H nuclear strategic bombers of the U.S. air force flew into the air of the Korean peninsula again on March 30 to openly pose a threat to the DPRK. At the same time, the chief of the carrier strike group and other warmongers told with bluff that they have various means and can mount attack in any sphere.

And stealth fighters from the U.S. Navy's amphibious assaulting ship Makin Island conducted a drill for striking ground targets in the sky above Kangwon Province of south Korea from March 30 to April 1.

The U.S. plans to stage another joint naval drill in the East Sea of Korea next week with the involvement of the U.S.-Japan-south Korea three-party naval forces, including U.S. Navy's nuclear-powered aircraft carrier Nimitz which entered into the Pusan operation base on March 28.

The U.S. and the south Korean puppet forces are openly crying out for the "occupation of Pyongyang" and "beheading operation", which they had secretly pushed forward in the past for fear, and getting hell-bent on the drill to carry them into practice. This shows that their hostile acts against the DPRK have reached the worst phase.

This being a hard fact, those of the defense and state departments of the U.S. have parroted that the military drills with south Korea are defensive and routine ones that have lasted for a long time. But, they can never conceal with such veils as "defensive" and "routine" their aggressive colors as provocateurs and the fact that the current exercises are a deliberate military action prompted by their sinister scheme and option to wreck peace and stability in the Korean peninsula and the region.

The U.S. and the south Korean puppets openly announced that they would lead the recent war exercises to the largest-ever "combined joint firepower annihilation drill" in forthcoming June with involvement of all the ground, naval and air combined forces and latest weapons. This reminds the people and army of the DPRK of June 1950 when they had to be subject to war calamity, and is further arousing their high vigilance.

The U.S. and its followers should never forget the fact that their rival state has possessed the nuclear attack capability in practice as well as the characteristics of the people and army of the DPRK which do not make empty talk.

Now that the U.S. and the south Korean puppets have openly made a military provocation to the DPRK, the latter's option will be in conformity with it.

It will be quite clear how the DPRK's nukes will be used if the war deterrence does not work on those who are running amuck, not being afraid of nuclear weapons.

They should think twice to truly avoid unlucky catastrophe and should be mindful that they will have to pay dearly for their rash acts. -0-

Statement of Kim Yo Jong, Vice Department Director of C.C., WPK

Pyongyang, April 1 (KCNA) -- Kim Yo Jong, vice department director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK), on Saturday issued a statement titled "Reckless nuclear daydream invites self-destruction", which said:

The Ukrainian president's website recently carried an appeal calling for deploying U.S. nuclear weapons in territory of Ukraine or making nuclear weapons by itself.

It is reported that if more than 25 000 inhabitants sign the appeal within 90 days, the president will examine the proposed initiative and clarify the official stand on it.

This is a plausible veil of the public's expression of will, but it is not hard to guess that it is a product of the Zelenskiy authorities' sinister political plot.

It is a well-known fact that Zelenskiy clarified at the Munich Security Conference in February 2022 his stand to restore the position of the country's nuclear weapons state and officials of Ukraine openly revealed their nuclear ambition on several occasions.

The Ukrainian authorities, seized with the incurable megalomania that can defeat Russia, are incurring a nuclear disaster threatening their existence without any elementary consciousness of foresight and any ability to cope with its ensuing consequences.

Zelenskiy's talk about the introduction of U.S. nuclear weapons and the independent development of nuclear weapons is a manifestation of his very dangerous political ambition to prolong his remaining days at any cost by gambling with the destiny of his country and people.

It is the law of the world that if the authorities lack political sense and discretion, they will drive the country and nation into the abyss of ruin.

The Zelenskiy authorities, who always look up at their master and chant prayers of begging and solicitation, are not rivals of Russia, and if they are focused on nuclear daydream as now, they will be a more vivid target in Russia's nuclear sighting.

If the Zelenskiy authorities calculated that they can avoid the powerful fire of Russia only when they go under the U.S. nuclear umbrella, which had already been perforated, they are going to the wrong path, the last path.

Those stooges serving the U.S. as their master and blindly believing in its poor promise should clearly understand that awakening at an early date from the self-destructive nuclear ambition, little different from having a nuclear time bomb hung on their backs, is the best option for saving their lives. -0-

The British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea salutes the 45th anniversary of the foundation of the International Institute of the Juche Idea.

The British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea  today issued a statement on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the foundation of the International Institute of the Juche Idea on the 9th of April.
  Following the international seminars on the Juche Idea that were held in September 1976 in
Antananarivo in the Democratic Republic of Madagascar and the historic international seminar on
the Juche Idea and in Pyongyang in September 1977 a decision was taken to establish an international co-ordination and guidance body for the study and dissemination of the Juche . The Pyongyang international seminar  on the Juche Idea in 1977 was attended by 89 delegations from 73 countries, a fact that reflected the growing attraction and significance of the Juche idea . The seminar declared that "ours is a new era of history , the era of independence , in which the people, once oppressed and humiliated have emerged as masters of the world and are hewing out their destinies independently and creatively " . The seminar adopted a declaration calling for the formation of an international body for the study and dissemination of the Juche Idea . Thus in April in 1978 the International Institute of the Juche Idea(IIJI), with its headquarters in Tokyo , was founded amidst great acclaim. Veteran Juche Idea followers such as  Kaoru Yasui and Genaro Carnero Checa played a big role in the foundation as did the Indian public figure Dr Vishwanath .
    The foundation of the IIJI fully reflected the fact that the Juche Idea had spread beyond the borders of Korea and had taken root in many countries of the world . The first Juche Idea study group was
formed in Mali, Africa in 1969 and Juche Idea Study Groups were formed in many countries of the world. Delegation after delegation visited Pyongyang . Revolutionaries in many countries earnestly sought the writings of the great leader comrade Kim Il Sung .
  Without a doubt the IIJI has played the vanguard role in the study and dissemination of the Juche Idea . Figures of the IIJI such as the late director general Dr Vishwanath and secretary general
Ogami Kenichi have worked tirelessly to promote the Juche idea. The IIJI has organised world Congresses on the Juche Idea , International and regional seminars involving many people including leading academic and political figures.
 Our Study Group of has participated in the events held by the International Institute of the Juche Idea . We participated in the World Congress for Anti-imperialism and independence held in Caracas, Venezuela in 2005  and a delegation of the Juche Idea Study Group

of England was greatly honoured to participate in the World Congress of the Juche Idea in April 2012 and speak at it .We took part in the international online seminars organised by the IIJ and Korean Association of Social Scientists in 2021 and 2022.

We also participated in European Regional Seminars on the Juche Idea in 2003,2014  2017 , 2019 , 2020 and 2022.
   We always remember the teaching of Dr Vishwanath the late director general of the IIJI " study the
Juche Idea , it costs you nothing but will pay in plenty " .

Okryu Children's Hospital and world of fairyland   When you enter the Okryu Children's Hospital, you can feel at a glance that it is the hospital totally for the children. Pictures drawn on the wall of corridor and ward suited to the children's mind, it is redolent of fairyland not a hospital. They say that over 1 700 fairy tale pictures are drawn in the hospital. The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un looked round the construction site of the hospital nearing completion and gave instructions to fill the walls of passage and sick-room with fairy tale pictures loved by the children.    He chose world-famous fairy tale pictures including Cinderella and the story of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs which have been well-known to the children and sent them to the hospital. Numerous artists including students of the Pyongyang University of Fine Arts created 1 700 works of arts within a week. Thus, the walls of hospital were bedecked finely with pictures in a way best suited to the children's feelings. The pictures were not merely the one to decorate the wall. Those are silent teacher and textbook teaching the essence and principles of things and phenomena with attraction. The Okryu Children's Hospital serves as a space for medical treatment but also has been decorated as the place for education. In condemnation of pro-Japanese sycophancy of Yoon Suk-yeol

In condemnation of pro-Japanese sycophancy of Yoon Suk-yeol   40 odd bodies including a civic meeting for compensation for Korean victims of compulsory labor forced by Japan held a rally to demand immediate retirement of Yoon fawning upon Japan. He visited Japan to sell off the interests of the nation and people. Overawed by pressure of Japan, which have made no apology and reparation for the past crimes, Yoon turned down compensation for drafting victims, they charged.  Who gave him an unlimited power to make such decision, they raised their voices at the rally. The drafting victims have waged struggle to achieve the judgment of the Supreme Court for over 30 years, but Yoon brought their historic achievement to naught in an instant, while even the Japanese judiciary authorities acknowledged the illegality of the forced labor as true, Yoon received only a bill of preemptive strike at north Korea in an emergency on the Korean Peninsula without extracting even a word of apology from Japan, it is not only a humiliating diplomacy but a fiasco of foreign policy, they denounced. Yoon absolved war criminal business group of its sinful past, it is a reason why he must be impeached, Yoon must keep his public pledge to take the responsibility for everything, Yoon who has inflicted unimaginable disgrace and submission upon the south Korean people and victims with his sycophantic proclivity toward Japan must be stepped down from his presidency at once, they strongly demanded. Meantime, the Preparatory Committee for Promoting Reunification for the National Independence and Great Unity carried out one-man demo in denunciation of war maneuvers and pro-Japanese treacherous act of the Yoon group. The participants revealed that the south Korea-US joint war game is a large scale military maneuver aimed at the preemptive strike at north Korea and collapse of north Korean system. The US pulls strings from behind the military rehearsal and humiliating diplomacy, heedless of the people's wellbeing and stability, if Yoon would continue to follow the US hostile policy toward north Korea blindly, the Korean Peninsula will suffer the ravages of war, they commented. Yoon paid a visit to Japan while staging a war exercise irritating north Korea, Yoon who has fawned on the US insisting on the preemptive strike at north Korea satisfies the needs of Japan, styling himself as a henchman of Japan now, Yoon is consistent with humiliating diplomacy to Japan despite strong public criticism, Yoon winked at the forced labor crime committed by Japan and declared normalization of the GSOMIA, he is going to transfer even the ownership of Dok Islet to Japan, they bitterly censured. Let us wage candlelight resistance to punish Yoon, who is engrossed in war game and humiliating diplomacy buckling down to playing a vanguard role in tightening the tripartite military nexus between south Korea, the US and Japan, let us turn out in the struggle for overthrowing the Yoon regime and bringing about a peaceful world desired by the people, they appealed. A few days ago, the 3rd nationwide rally in denunciation of the south Korea-Japan summit and Yoon regime's humiliating diplomacy and for withdrawal of his solution to the forced labor and demanding serious reflection of Japan was held in Seoul. At the rally, the participants criticized that Yoon is on a good par with Lee Wan-yong, one of the five traitors of 1905. The Yoon regime offered everything for the sake of Japan, Yoon Suk-yeol made the Kishida regime and the Japanese ultraconservatives treating south Korea as a colony of modern version satisfied, what the hell did he gain during his junket to Japan, they blamed. Now is the time to get Yoon withdrawn, let us bring pro-Japanese traitor selling off the national interests to a stern punishment of history, let us eliminate the cruel pro-Japanese treacherous forces with our united efforts, they appealed.

 

One year riddled with crimes

One year riddled with crimes   It has been one year since traitor Yoon Suk-yeol seized power. It was the days dotted with treasonous crimes. The sword of "prosecution dictatorship" has stifled democracy and promotion of anti-popular economic policy has driven the right to live and work of the south Korean working people to the worst phase. Yoon has carried out ceaseless war games against north Korea with the US, paying lip-service to "north Korea is the principal enemy" and "preemptive strike against north Korea". He injured south Koreans' pride with submission to the US and Japan. The south Koreans' anger at Yoon run sky-high in less than one year. Broad segments of south Korean people strongly demand Yoon's immediate resignation saying Yoon is ineligible as the president and he is a benighted politician. Yoon has enforced the rule of prosecution dictatorship and appointed key positions with those from the Prosecution Service as he had only career in prosecution. It is the last resort to bury his inability and ignorance and calm down the people's repulsion for him. Politics was lost out and democracy was recessed, mass media and experts commented. Recently, Yoon is bent on improvement of ties with Japan and spouts wild remarks against history at a speech commemorating the Independence Movement in 1919, disregarding the people's ill feelings towards Japan. He had humiliating, treacherous junket to Japan which totally denied Japan's past crimes. It sparks off surging indignation of the people. The Korean Peninsula is faced with the danger of nuclear war owing to Yoon, sycophantic traitor, war maniacs and pro-Japanese traitors. The south Korean people, who are concerning over their lives, cannot help but live under instability and fear of war. "It's clear as noonday that forthcoming four years would be monstrous", "upcoming four years would be horrible", "it is hard to live in nightmare"... Yoon is "a political greenhorn", "economic beginner", "military illiterate" and "diplomatic outsider": this is the public evaluation about Yoon. It is quite natural that south Korean people of different strata turn out in the struggle against Yoon crying the slogans "withdrawal of Yoon Suk-yeol," and "down with Yoon Suk-yeol".

 

NADA Marks Its 10th Founding Anniversary

Pyongyang, April 1 (KCNA) -- The National Aerospace Development Administration (NADA) in the DPRK marked its 10th founding anniversary.

The NADA, founded on April 1, Juche 102 (2013), is the national aerospace development guidance organ which maps out space development plans and supervises and controls their implementation in a unified way.

It has proudly exercised the DPRK's legitimate right to develop space for the past decade and conducted the space conquer activities in the forefront of building a space power. It has grown into a prestigious organ representing the state in the field of space development.

It is a product of the noble loyalty, ardent patriotic desire and will of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un to add eternal shine to the exploits of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il for building a space power and demonstrate the dignity of the country and nation before the whole world.

The prestigious and proud history of development of the NADA can be unthinkable without the leadership of the respected General Secretary who made his tireless efforts and painstaking devotion to realize the great dream and ambition of the DPRK to build a space power.

The DPRK, which had proudly emerged a satellite manufacturer and launcher through the successful launches of test satellites in 1998 and 2009, succeeded in putting the first practical satellite onto orbit on December 12, 2012 on the basis of the accumulated technology and experience.

At that time, the advance into space was intensified in the world and its structure diversified.

With a deep insight into the requirements of socialist construction and the trend of the times, the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un initiated the establishment of a powerful state guidance organ to put the development of outer space of the country on a new higher stage and has wisely led the work for its realization.

The Law of the DPRK on Space Development was promulgated and a decision on establishing the National Aerospace Development Administration was adopted at the Seventh Session of the 12th Supreme People's Assembly on April 1, 2013.

After organizing the NADA, the General Secretary initiated the construction of the satellite control center, personally chose its site and solved all problems arising in the construction, thus making sure that the construction was completed in a short span of time.

Saying that the NADA has a very important duty to realize the plan of the Workers' Party of Korea for building a space power, he indicated the orientation and ways for dynamically pushing ahead with the space science research and satellite launch.

In January, 2016 when space scientists were stepping up the preparations for the launch of the second practical satellite, he visited the Satellite Control Center of the NADA again and clearly indicated once again the purpose, significance and importance of satellite launch, saying that it is not a merely scientific and technological work but the very important and responsible work to be conducted for the dignity of the country and nation before the world.

On February 7, 2016, Kim Jong Un personally visited the launching site of the earth observation satellite Kwangmyongsong-4 and guided the whole process of the launch and led it to complete success.

At the Seventh Congress of the WPK, he set forth the important tasks for further developing space science and technology and thus manufacturing and launching more practical satellites, the aggregate and essence of ultra-modern technology.

In particular, he set it as the immediate goal of space development to put the geostationary satellite into space in the near future and made sure that the development of a new-type geostationary satellite carrier rocket was conducted in a positive way.

He, who guided in September 2016 the ground jet test of a high-power engine for the geo-stationary satellite carrier rocket for the first time in the DPRK, highly praised the scientists and technicians for devotedly carrying out in a short span of time the task given by the Party.

While inspecting the NADA in March 2022, he set forth the development of a reconnaissance satellite as the top political and military prior task and the supreme revolutionary task of the Party and the government, and clarified the issues for laying a solid material and technical foundation of the field of space scientific research.

In the arduous struggle to explore and conquer outer space in our own way, he instilled wisdom, strength and courage into the minds of the space developers, always finding himself among them.

Thanks to his energetic and meticulous leadership, a well-regulated guidance and management system for the country's space development was established, all the work for the exploration and use of outer space could be conducted in a unified and far-sighted way, and great successes were registered in the work to design and make practical satellite and develop the satellite control equipment and in other space development work.

Today the NADA is recording great achievements in the efforts to make a multi-functional and highly efficient satellite and boost its reliability.

Lots of scientific and technological problems arising in the satellite control and operation have been solved, and the work to introduce the application technology into the economic construction, the improvement of the people's standard of living and the building up of the country's defence capacity has been stepped up.

The NADA is strengthening the international trust and cooperation in the space science field, strictly observing the international outer space treaty, agreements and conventions.

The officials and space scientists of the NADA, who have turned out in the work to carry out this year's task of the new five-year plan for the national aerospace development with great confidence and courage, are pressing ahead with the preparations for launching and operating new practical satellites of various purposes by their own efforts and technology.

Efforts are also made to apply the space scientific and technological successes to agriculture, fishery, weather observation, disaster monitoring, resources prospecting and the development of communication system of our own style. -0-
