Message from the Brazilian Centre for the Study of Songun Politics to the KFA UK and BGSJI online meeting on the 03.02.2024

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, 3rd February 2024

Dear Comrade Dermot Hudson, First of all, I would like to congratulate you on behalf of the entire Brazilian Center for the Study of Songun Politics on your re-election as chairman of KFA-UK, at the head of which you play a prominent role worldwide in defense of People's Korea and the Korean Revolution . Dear comrades and friends of Socialist Korea,

From Brazil we salute this important event in a significant month for the history of Korea: the month of formalization of the glorious Korean People's Army and the month of birth of comrade Kim Jong Il.

The position of great global power that the Korean People's Army has achieved in recent years is a reflection of its long history of fighting for Korean independence. The KPA is the army of the masses organized by the genius leader comrade Kim Il Sung with the best sons and daughters of Korea. The KPA not only beat Japan in 1945 but also beat the USA in 1953, although in the West we are not yet ready to understand that it was in fact a great popular victory that kept standing the entire DPRK and its territory. The KPA over the decades until modern times built a remarkable nuclear defense power of a very high technological level based on its own forces, not depending on foreign suppliers. Have you noticed that in Brazil or the United Kingdom our armed forces depend on technologies in sensitive and confidential areas that are provided by private companies (often based in other countries!)? This is a catastrophic scenario that does not happen in People’s Korea: there the people own their own technologies, which serve solely to defend socialism.

When we talk about the Korean People's Army, we remember the leadership of comrade Kim Jong Il, who was born 82 years ago. He was one of the main builders, theoreticians and modernizers of the KPA and the most important coordinator of the transition to the nuclear age of the DPRK: in the 1990s, he invested in an audacious nuclear program that was capable of giving the KPA the atomic bomb that, importantly remember, - serves to repel war, not create it! In addition to being a great leader in military affairs and implementer of the Songun Policy, comrade Kim Jong Il was an intelligent and very honourable political leader who never gave up on socialism, never proposed “reforms” and did not act like a Korean Gorbachev. Personalities like him are missed in our revolutionary parties in Brazil and the United Kingdom, aren't they?
I sincerely hope that this meeting will be successful in remembering these important dates and in discussing how the Korean Revolution, its institutions and leadership can serve as an inspiration for our dear people to build their Socialist Revolutions based on their own characteristics.
My best wishes to all of you, Lucas Rubio M. da Silva
Chairman of the Brazilian Center for the Study of Songun Politics
