DPRK Foreign Ministry Spokesperson on Israel's Attack on Iran

Pyongyang, March 1 (KCNA) -- A spokesperson for the Foreign Ministry of the DPRK issued the following press statement on Sunday:

Israel's military attack on Iran, launched under the U.S. active support and patronage, and the military action of the U.S. which joined in it are an illegal act of aggression and the most despicable form of violation of sovereignty in their nature from A to Z.

The fact that the U.S military threat to Iran, continued in the region for a long time, would be led to a realistic military invasion has already been within the range of possible prediction, and it is a sure logical result from the U.S. hegemonic and rogue nature.

The DPRK condemns in the strongest tone the shameless rogue act of the U.S. and Israel which put their domestic law before the recognized international law and do not hesitate to abuse military muscle in order to realize their selfish and hegemonic ambition.

The U.S. increased acts for hegemony witnessed by the international community this year are a positive example to show their destructive role destroying global peace and stability and its grave consequences.

The tyranny's high-handed and arbitrary practices which do not face powerful counteraction and adequate resistance, make those countries directly related to the regional situation pay dear price and give rise to concern that they may have a negative effect, which can not be disregarded politically, economically and geopolitically, on the region which has no connection with the present Iranian situation.

The world highlights again the history in which the U.S. destroyed peace in the Middle East for its hegemonic interests decades ago but met with the geopolitical failure and strategic setback after all.

The war of aggression by the U.S. and Israel, which can never be justified with anything, can never be tolerated in any case.

The relevant and interested parties in the region would be well advised to correctly grasp the essence of the offenders who chose aggression and war under the pretext of fake peace, and to fulfill their due responsibility in switching the situational trend in the Middle East back to peace and stability. -0-

Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un Receives Congratulations from Co-presidents of Nicaragua

Pyongyang, March 1 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and supreme commander of the armed forces of the DPRK, received a congratulatory message from Daniel Ortega Saavedra and Rosario Murillo, co-presidents of the Republic of Nicaragua, on Feb. 23.

The message said:

Dear Comrade,

As regards your reelection as general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, we extend the warmest and fraternal congratulations on behalf of the national reconciliation and unity government and the people of the Republic of Nicaragua and the Sandinist National Liberation Front and on our own behalf, affirming our trust in your country and you, the supreme leader of your people.

We also extend congratulations to the members of your Party, especially to the comrades who were elected at the Ninth Congress of the WPK.

We express belief that the heroic people of the DPRK would defend their rights and continue to shape their destiny along the road of peace, security, stability and wellbeing and thus achieve unity, progress and economic development under your strong leadership.

Dear Comrade,

The Nicaraguan government reaffirms its invariable will to further boost the historic relations of revolutionary and fraternal friendship, solidarity and cooperation between the two parties, two governments and two peoples.

BGSJI and KFA UK on the 107th anniversary of the March 1st Popular Uprising

   The British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea  (BGSJI),  and the  Korean Friendship Association of the UK(KFA UK ) issued the following joint statement on the occasion of the 107th  anniversary of the March 1st popular uprising in Korea
  

 The March 1st popular uprising of the Korean people was a heroic act of mass resistance to the barbaric imperialist colonial rule of Japan. It was the result of the bitter resentment of the Korean people towards imperialist Japan which had annexed Korea some 9 years before in 1910 after long coveting the land of Korea and planning to seize it by hook or by crook. The March 1st popular uprising was a just uprising against oppression and exploitation by Japanese imperialism.
  The great leader President KIM IL SUNG wrote in his reminiscences  "With the Century " that
"Through the March First Popular Uprising the Korean people demonstrated to the whole world that ours are a people with a strong spirit of independence who do not want to live as the slaves of others and that they are a people with indomitable stamina and ardent patriotism who fear no sacrifice in order to regain their country"
  

  The reactionary Japanese imperialists brutally suppressed the uprising by force killing many innocent people. A total of 7 500  people were killed, 46 900 arrested and jailed and 15 900 wounded. This shows the gruesome barbarity of the samurai-wielding bloodthirsty Japanese imperialists.
                                                        

 Japan has never apologized for its crimes nor has it paid reparations to the Korean people. Instead, top Japanese politicians visit the shrine of the war criminals. Today Japan is the shock brigade of

US imperialism in Asia. Japan is being encouraged by the US to see itself as a regional power(not that Japanese militarism needs much encouragement)  Japanese imperialism is planning to make a comeback in Korea. It has laid claims to Tok Islet in south Korea. Japan also dominates the south Korean economy and jointly exploits south Korea with US imperialism. Japan pursues an extremely hostile policy towards the DPRK. Japan commits acts of terrorism against Korean residents in Japan and is denying them the right to education.
    

  Although the March 1st popular uprising was brutally suppressed by the Japanese imperialists the independent spirit of the heroic uprisers is alive. Today that spirit of independence is represented by the Juche idea and the anti-imperialist Democratic People's Republic of Korea led by the dear respected leader Marshal KIM JONG UN, the outstanding anti-imperialist leader of our epoch. South Korea lacks independence and the spirit of  Juche. .
 

   Our organisations urge that Japan should apologise to the Korean people and compensate them for the crimes committed against them. Moreover, Japan should take its hands off Korea and keep out!
