Signboard of "Joint" Is "Disguise" of Belligerent Japan: KCNA Commentary

Pyongyang, April 12 (KCNA) -- The signboard of "joint" is recently emerging as a "term" frequently used in various military acts of Japan.

Shortly ago, Japan and the U.S. agreed on the joint production of the latest air-to-air missile AIM-120, occasioned by the U.S. secretary of Defense's visit to Japan. Such examples are numerous: on-going joint development of the next-generation fighter planes with the U.K. and Italy, joint development of new-type warships with Australia, joint research with the U.S. to put microwave weapons to practical use, joint maintenance and overhauling of U.S. warships and aircraft, etc.

Given the joint military exercises between the forces of different countries including NATO, which Japan is staging not only in the Asia-Pacific region but also in the far-off regions, it is not difficult to understand that the signboard of "joint" put up by Japan covers most of the military moves of the archipelago nation.

This does not merely mean the strengthening of Japan's external military cooperation.

Japan has been bound by various internal and external institutional mechanisms deterring its military expansion as a war criminal state which inflicted huge damage on the Asian people in the last century.

Now all the constraints have become a thing of the past. For example, Japan abolished the principle of banning weapons export it had observed for decades and has come up with the new "three principles of defense equipment transfer".

According to it, the items of export weapons are confined to non-lethal ones as it was done, but international joint development and joint production are exceptions.

As a result, the weapons of attack and destruction, which are against the "exclusive defense," can be developed, produced and sold under the signboard of "joint".

The aim sought by Japan through the trick deceiving the world is not only to earn money but to modernize its munitions industry, which supports its ambition for becoming a military giant, and to bolster up the militaristic state's war capability.

All the joint military actions of Japan are being conducted under this sinister intention.

This will lead to the emergence of an exclusive military alliance, a war bloc integrated in an all-round way, not merely a "single entity" of a dangerous war state keen on reinvasion in the Asia-Pacific region.

Herein lies the essence of the signboard of "joint" frequently put up by Japan.

Japan's trick to revive a war state and an aggressor state by circumventing the international community's vigilance and legal constraints with a plausible justification can no longer work.

Japan should be mindful that any "disguise" can never help it cover up its black-hearted intention and that its signboard of "joint" will only make it a "joint target" of regional countries. -0-

  The season of removal into new houses came into being in the capital city of Pyongyang.

  The whole city seethes with removal into new houses in spring from 2022.

 Songhwa Street and Kyongru-dong, the Pothong Riverside Terraced Residential District, were built in April 2022, Hwasong Street and the Taephyong area dwelling houses in April and May 2023 and Rimhung and Jonwi streets in April and May 2024. 

  The respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un energetically led the work of drawing up the construction plan, giving personal guidance to a huge amount of draft formation plans, in order to turn the Hwasong area into a model in the layout of urban formation elements, a functional prototype of administrative district and a modern urban quarter embodying a harmony of architectural formative and artistic beauty and advanced civilization.

  Researcher Kim Chol Nam at the Academy of Social Sciences said that the Hwasong area, a full-fledged urban administrative district, has turned into a centre and standard capable of leading the areas existing in the capital city to civilization and efflorescence, and continued:

  "On March 15, 2025, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said Ryomyong, Mirae Scientists and other new streets sprang up year after year, renewing the appearance of the capital city, but there has never been an urban quarter like the Hwasong area which has been erected on a large scale with perfect functionality in a short span of time and this is of great experimental significance in putting the new era of prosperity of Pyongyang on a higher level.

  He added that the precious experience gained in the construction of the Hwasong area, which set an example in the layout of urban formation elements, should be applied to the capital city construction field for accelerating the modernization of our style suited to the political character of our capital city and the world trend of architectural development."

  The third-stage 10,000 flats in the Hwasong area will be inaugurated in a few days.

  When the fourth-stage construction in the Hwasong area that started in February this year is completed, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea will become a country which has perfectly resolved the housing problem of the capital city.

  In general, people believe that the difference in military muscle is decisive of victory and defeat in a war.

  The Korean War in the 1950s, however, denied it and showed that one can always emerge victorious when one has a great spiritual strength.

  Today the aspects of modern warfare evolve incessantly and the advanced military and technical means develop constantly. It brings great changes to operations and combat actions.

  But the Democratic People's Republic of Korea gives priority to preparing its army ideologically and morally at present, too.

  The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of the DPRK, visited Kim Il Sung University of Politics on February 24, 2025 and said that the foremost might and superiority our revolutionary armed forces should steadily adhere to and boost are none other than the political, ideological, spiritual and moral superiority of the army of the people.

  He noted that it has been an established theory to count soldiers and weapons as two elements of the armed forces in any century and any country and, from the historical point of view and in consideration of modern warfare, we can clearly see in practice the limitation of the military technology-centred theory ignoring the ideological building of the army.

 Saying that imbuing the army with ideology before arming it with military technology is the core of army building, he expressed his new view that soldiers, weapons and ideology are three elements of the armed forces.

  It is a conclusion he reached definitely once again that the arms devoid of ideology are little short of ironware and the basic way of building a powerful army lies in strengthening the political force of the army on a preferential basis and in a qualitative way.

   The Korean People's Army orients its building toward giving priority to making it strong politically, ideologically and morally and toward steadily training the combat ranks to be elite and then toward developing the military and technical equipment in all domains including the nuclear armed forces at the highest level.

The Greatest Crime of Sacrificing Korea to Aggressive War

  The Japanese imperialists made Korea a colony in the last century. After the outbreak of the Sino-Japanese War in 1937 they resorted to more vicious suppression and plunder against the Korean people.

  With the "Law on National Mobilization" fabricated and promulgated on April 1, 1938, all the economic activities of the country were reorganized according to wartime requirement and a legal guarantee was provided for plundering necessary manpower and materials by high-handed pressure of the ruling organs.

  Lecturer Song Kyong Sim at the Central Class Education House cited detailed materials to expose the vicious and shameless "law" promulgated by the Japanese imperialists.

  "In order to replenish the working force the Japanese imperialists established the labor drafting, conscription and patriotic corps system largely in Korea and plundered Korea of her manpower resources in the way of forcibly emigrating the Korean people to Manchuria and other regions under the pretext of 'settler'.

  And they fabricated and promulgated various evil laws on the basis of the 'Law on National Mobilization' as a main law and used manpower of Korea in their war by force.

  They fabricated and amended evil laws including the 'law on special support of Koreans to the army', the 'personal service drafting law' and the 'women's volunteer corps law' in succession, and forcibly drafted and kidnapped the Korean people for hard labour irrespective of ages and sex.

  A Japanese book wrote that 'as the labour conscription assumed the character of forcible drafting, Koreans continued to escape'. A report submitted to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Japan in July 1944 stipulated the forcible drafting in the Korean territory as 'kidnapping'. A document which recorded a meeting held at the Ministry of Health and Welfare of Japan in August 1942 wrote what was said by high-ranking personages admitting that the forcible drafting of Koreans was abduction. They said: 'Many Koreans were kidnapped on the Korean peninsula mainly for the project related to the military affairs and as they were taken and forced on hard labour, they tried to escape.'

  This proves that the labour conscription was conducted clearly in the way of forcible drafting and kidnapping."

The Japanese imperialists left no stone unturned to get not only human resources but also a great deal of materials for the war in the way of plundering Korea of her valuable resources without restraint.

  They made desperate efforts to plunder Korea of her natural resources by fabricating all sorts of "laws" such as "Korean Bank Law", "Sheep Breeding Plan", "Korean Rice Control Law", "Korean Munitions Production Responsibility System" and "Munitions Company Law".

 Due to the most barbaric and coercive plunder of human and material resources by the Japanese imperialists, many Korean people writhed in agony and a tremendous damage was inflicted on the socio-economic development of Korea.

  The Korean people will never forget the unpardonable immoral acts of the Japanese imperialists, but make them pay for the misfortunes and sufferings of the Korean nation.

In the last century, the Japanese imperialists occupied Korea and expanded the war of aggression to the continent. They turned Korea into their base for war supplies and mobilized all the human and material resources on this land to the aggressive war. In particular, they made every desperate effort to give

colonial slave education to the Korean children and make them cannon fodder for their war.
They frantically infused only the idea of servile submission into the minds of the children by fabricating and enforcing the "Primary School Ordinance" and "Private School Ordinance". They promulgated the "Elementary School Regulations" on March 31, 1941 in order to make the Korean children minions of their aggressive war.
Lecturer Choe Kyong Mi at the Central Class Education House said the evil law consisting of seven chapters and 92 articles is a concretized version of the "Elementary School Ordinance", and continued.
"The Japanese imperialists willfully merged and considerably reduced the existing subjects through the 'Elementary School Regulations'. They also ascribed their contents to infusing militarist spirit and servile obedience into schoolchildren.
And they attached importance to the subject of 'Physical Training' consistent with military drills and saw that 'martial arts' or 'gymnastics' were taught in its lesson.
They included army 'training' as a formal subject at the elementary schools from 1943 when the Pacific War and the Sino-Japanese War got fiercer. After all, all the subjects were militarized.
At that time, the Japanese imperialists gave rifles to the elementary school children and enforced military training such as march-past and shooting and even collective mock cavalry battle exercise every afternoon."
As said above, the Japanese imperialists forced the Korean people to fall victims to their aggressive war from childhood with the promulgation of the "Elementary School Regulations".
The Japanese imperialists can never be pardoned for the capital crimes they committed to make the Korean people their colonial slaves forever.

President KIM IL SUNG and Juche -speech of Dr Dermot Hudson to the meeting of the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea and KFA UK 05.04.2025

 As we mark the 113th anniversary of the birth of the great leader President KIM IL SUNG, we think deeply about his achievements in leading the Korean revolution to victory and carrying out socialist construction  . Undoubtedly , one of his greatest achievements was the creation of the Juche Idea .

  Today the Tower of the Juche Idea stands tall and proud on the banks of the River Taedong . Juche is the guiding ideology of People’s Korea and is known all over the world .                                       

 

The Korea that President KIM IL SUNG had grown up in was a dark land without independence ruled by the barbarous Japanese imperialists .The people were doubly and triply oppressed by the Japanese imperialists , landlords and capitalists  . President KIM IL SUNG himself was born into a humble and poor peasant family in the village of Mangyongdae  and saw the contradictions of the existing order first hand .

  At an early age and following the example of his father , Kim Hyong Jik , he embarked on the road for the struggle for independence . However as a young man he found that the movement for independence was dominated by hidebound bourgeois nationalists who were divorced from the people . They indulged in bickering among themselves and also advocated all manner of false theories and ‘roads to nowhere ‘ such as trying to win independence with the help of big powers or trying to win independence through petitions etc and even ideas about ‘self-cultivation. The early communist movement in Korea was no better . It was split into warring factions , these were also divorced from the people . Each faction tried to lobby the COMINTERN or Third International .

   President KIM IL SUNG , a true genius of revolution , realised quickly that it was hopeless to conduct the struggle for independence in this way .Instead he thought that the struggle should be conducted on the basis of independence and by going among the people and enlisted their support , not just support but active participation . This was the basis of the great Juche Idea which stipulates that the popular masses are the masters of the revolution and construction .

 The Juche idea was outlined in embryonic form when President KIM IL SUNG addressed a meeting of the leading activists and cadres of the Young Communist League of Korea and the Anti-Imperialist Youth League in Kalun in June and July 1930. . He stressed that the Korean revolution should be carried out independently and by relying on the popular masses.

 In his speech,titled   'The Path of the Korean Revolution  ' he explained his ideas and put forward the Juche -oriented line of the Korean revolution.

In the speech he castigated the factionalists and flunkeys saying that

“Experience shows that in order to lead the revolution to victory, one must go among the masses of people and organize them, and solve all problems arising in the course of the revolution independently on one’s own responsibility in accord with the actual conditions, instead of relying on others."

 Drawing on this lesson we regard it as most important to take the firm standpoint that the masters of the Korean revolution are the Korean people and that the Korean revolution should by all means be carried out by the Korean people themselves in a way suited to the actual conditions of their country.”

   This was the basis of the Juche idea and its starting point. The idea that the masses are the masters of the revolution was first voiced at Kalun in 1930 . President KIM IL SUNG stressed that “ The masters of the revolutionary struggle are the masses of the people, and only when they are organized and mobilized can they win the revolutionary struggle.”.

  President KIM IL SUNG also defined the Korean revolution as being an anti-imperialist , anti-feudal democratic revolution rather than as being  a socialist revolution or a bourgeois revolution.

  In the speech, President KIM IL SUNG set forth the revolutionary line of armed struggle,  the original line of the anti-Japanese national united front and the Juche-oriented policy of party founding for the first time in the history of the national liberation struggle in colonial countries, and dynamically led the revolution along the road of Juche.

Thus the Juche Idea was born. It was authored by President KIM IL SUNG  in the fiery days of the anti-Japanese armed struggle . It was thanks to the Juche Idea that under the leadership of President KIM IL SUNG the Korean people were able to win independence and then build a new independent people’s country .

At a time when modern revisionism had emerged and the big power chauvinists were putting pressure on the DPRK , comrade KIM IL SUNG on the 28th of December 1955 made the classic speech  "On Eliminating Dogmatism and Formalism and Establishing Juche In Ideological Work” he defined Juche in a masterly but simple way saying that “ "What is Juche in our Party’s ideological work? What are we doing? We are not engaged in any other country’s revolution, but solely in the

Korean revolution. This, the Korean revolution, determines the essence of Juche in the ideological work of our Party. Therefore, all ideological work must be subordinated to the interests of the Korean revolution.”

Under the banner of the Juche, socialism centred upon the popular masses was built .The DPRK pursued independent and original policies rejecting dogmatism , revisionism and big power chauvinism .In the DPRK agriculture was co-operativised before mechanisation  because it was the demand of the working farmers .

Truly startling miracles were achieved .In the difficult period after the destruction caused by the US imperialists in the Korean War , the people of the DPRK performed such miracles as producing 120 000 tons of steel at a blooming mill with capacity of 60 000 tons and 270 000 tons of pig iron by equipment with a capacity of 190 000 tons, building a flat in a matter of 14 minutes, raising the gross industrial output value at 36.6 percent on a yearly average in 1957-1960 and realizing the socialist industrialization in a matter of 14 years.

The Juche-based socialism of the DPRK is people-centred socialism . The DPRK since its foundation in 1948 has always pursued people-oriented policies. This is another factor in the durability of Juche-based socialism .In People’s Korea there is free education , free health care,even free housing , low cost food and cheap public transport (the Pyongyang Metro is famous for being the cheapest underground rail network in the world ). Taxation was abolished in March 1974.In People’s Korea everything is for the people .At present the DPRK, led by Marshal KIM JONG UN is carrying out massive housing construction both in Pyongyang and in local areas.

Today’s People’s Korea is the proud outcome of the leadership of President KIM IL SUNG and the application of the Juche idea .

We will never forget the achievements of President KIM IL SUNG in authoring the Juche Idea.

Rodong Sinmun on Revolutionary Ideology of Respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un

Pyongyang, April 11 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun in an article on Friday says that the revolutionary ideology of the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un indicates the revolutionary and scientific policies for putting the dignity and national power of Juche Korea on the highest level.

As it clearly showed the road to be followed by us, our state could record only victories in its advance and our people could bring about series of changes and renovation in succession while strengthening the driving motive power and accelerating force toward the building of a powerful state, the article says, and goes on:

When all the people more firmly arm themselves with the revolutionary ideas of the General Secretary, our revolutionary ranks will grow and develop into the ranks of genuine patriots and the new era of comprehensive national prosperity will be more brilliant.

The General Secretary's revolutionary ideology is a great encyclopedia bringing about a substantial and multi-concurrent rejuvenation in overall state building.

Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un Receives Reply Message from Laotian President

Pyongyang, April 11 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, received a reply message from Thongloun Sisoulith, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP) and president of the Lao People's Democratic Republic (LPDR), on April 10.

The Lao president in the message expressed his sincere thanks, on behalf of the Central Committee of the LPRP and on his own behalf, to the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un for sending him sincere greetings and a beautiful flower basket on the occasion of the 70th founding anniversary of the LPRP.

The message noted that the greetings and flower basket sent by Kim Jong Un are a manifestation of the traditional friendship, unity and cooperation between the two parties, two states and two peoples of the LPDR and the DPRK and, at the same time, serve as a great encouragement to the LPRP carrying on the cause of national defence and construction along the road of socialism.

We take great pride in the ever-growing friendly and cooperative relations between the two parties, two states and two peoples of the Lao People's Democratic Republic and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, which have long traditions, the message said.

Wishing Kim Jong Un good health, happiness and success in his noble work, the Laotian president in the message expressed his hope to meet Kim Jong Un and senior officials of the WPK in the near future.

Leading the Korean People to Final Victory-special article by Dr Dermot Hudson

 

13 years ago respected Marshal KIM JONG UN became the supreme leader of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea when he was elected to the highest posts of the Workers Party of Korea (WPK) and the state of the DPRK. On the 11th of April 2012 , respected comrade KIM JONG UN was elected as First Secretary of the WPK by the 4th conference of the party . On the 13th of April the Supreme People’s Assembly of the DPRK elected comrade KIM JONG UN as the First Chairman of the then National Defence Commission of the DPRK . A few months earlier comrade KIM JONG UN had been appointed as Supreme Commander of the Korean People’s Army by the decision of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers Party of Korea . Thus the supreme leadership of comrade KIM JONG UN began , it was the beginning of a new era in People’s Korea which saw Juche satellites soaring into the sky and new buildings rising from bare earth .

Of course April is already a most significant month in People’s Korea because on April 15th it is the anniversary of the birth of its founder the great leader President KIM IL SUNG, an event that is celebrated as the most auspicious national holiday , as well the anniversary of the foundation of the Korean People’s Revolutionary Army , the forerunner of today’s Korean People’s Army . So it was fitting that comrade KIM JONG UN’s supreme leadership should begin in April which is also a time of renewal and new growth .

I remember being in KIM IL SUNG Square on the 15th of April 2012 for the grand military parade for the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the birth of President KIM IL SUNG. The weather was sunny . Our delegation had an excellent translator , a professor of British studies of KIM IL SUNG university who was also a former KPA soldier   .It was on this day that respected comrade KIM JONG UN spoke publicly for the first time. I can vividly remember  our translator accurately and quickly translating the speech for us . The speech was amazing and it seemed incredible that we were present at this world-historic moment . Respected comrade KIM JONG UN in the speech summed up the great changes that had been achieved under the guidance of the preceding leaders , he said that  “the geopolitical position of the country is the same as ever, but the weak country of yesterday which was trodden underfoot as a theatre of wrangling among big powers to expand the sphere of their influence, has now been turned into a proud political and military power and our people are demonstrating their dignity as an independent people whom no one dares to provoke.

“These miraculous changes that have taken place in the destiny of our nation are not just a fortuitous event which resulted from the lapse of time but an inevitable outcome of history brought about by the great President Kim Il Sung and General Kim Jong Il”.

These words resonated with me.

What aroused a lot of comment in the world media and impressed me greatly  was  the declaration of respected comrade KIM JONG UN in his speech that “It is our party’s resolute determination to let our people who are the best in the world — our people who have overcome all obstacles and ordeals to uphold the party faithfully — not tighten their belts again and enjoy the wealth and prosperity of socialism as much as they like”.

I thought to myself ,here is a people’s leader , a genuine leader who puts the people first ,not like the capitalist politicians of the West who are always trying to cut living standards continually . In the UK at the time we were reeling from austerity that had been introduced by the coalition government and  we had experienced severe rioting in August 2011 . I myself had grown up during the 1970s when living standards fell due to high inflation and the 1980s ( a second devil's decade ) when there was mass unemployment .

Comrade KIM JONG UN concluded his speech with the words “ Forward towards the final victory!”  Indeed, respected comrade KIM JONG UN since taking the reins of supreme leadership of the DPRK has led the Korean people forward towards final victory . 

The DPRK under the leadership of respected Marshal KIM JONG UN successfully implemented the policy of building the nuclear force and economy in parallel (Pyongjin ) and crossed the nuclear finishing line to become a socialist nuclear power and an ICBM power . In 2016 the DPRK tested its first H bomb. 

There has been a big upsurge in prosperity and living standards are rising under the people-oriented leadership of respected comrade KIM JONG UN , New streets in Pyongyang such as Changjon Street , Mirae Scientists Street ,Ryomyong Street ,Songhwa Street, Jonwi Street, Kyongru-dong and Hwasong Street have sprung up . In the countryside there has been a complete revamp.More than 80 000 flats have been newly built at 1 500-odd rural villages for the past 3 years. New regional industry factories have also been completed . In 2023 and 2024 bumper harvests were reaped . 

These achievements are being made despite the intense sanctions of the US imperialists and the UN, they are the proud fruit of self-reliance .

All this proves that under the leadership of respected comrade KIM JONG UN the Korean people will march on to final victory and advance towards the high peaks of socialism and communism.

Situated in the mountainous northern area of the country, Samjiyon City, is now attracting unreserved admiration and envy of the world. Its splendour reflects the magnificence and imposing feature of Mt. Paektu, the sacred place of our revolution, when it has been built into the base of education in revolutionary traditions and a model of a civilized city in the mountains.

The city, once known as an uninhabitable place and the highest village under the sky with its unfavourable climate conditions, has now been transformed into the one resounding with the merry laughter of our people. Its transformation, however, is associated with strenuous efforts and devotion made by respected Comrade Kim Jong Un for the improvement of livelihood of our provincial population.

When he visited the place six years ago, on April 3, 2019 to inquire into the state of construction and progress made, he said with genuine warmth that the then Samjiyon County, the native home to our revolution, should be built into the epitome of modern civilization boasting of unique features and wealth that cannot be copied by any others.

It is the noble view held by respected Comrade Kim Jong Un that he would pick a star from the sky or even grow flowers on bare rocks if our people so desire. He always cares more for people far away from him rather than the ones near him and more for such needy and remote places as Samjiyon rather than wealthy areas. Such is his consideration and solicitude.

He visited the city again in July last year and set forth important tasks related to transforming the city into a more innovative and civilized one of a new type in conformity with the ever-increasing demand of the times.

Some countries in the world build their capital cities into modern ones to demonstrate their national might while some others develop such areas with rich natural resources into industrial cities to propel national development.

None of them, however, equals our country in the sense that it is meant for its people. With the noble view that the absolute criterion determining the mightiness of a country is none other than its people’s merry laughter, respected Comrade Kim Jong Un saw to it that a secluded place - neither the capital city nor an important industrial area - be transformed into a splendid city at the cost of vast expense for the sake of people who are living there.

Now that a model of world-class mountainous tourist attraction is built, the rural advancement is briskly underway, building on the successes already made. Such spirited advance of our Republic towards improvement of living conditions of the provincial population presents a stark contrast to the corruption in the capitalist countries where the well-to-do lead a lavish lifestyle in their luxurious villas whereas the poor have to sleep in the streets under the stars. Comparing these two pictures, the world public unanimously say as follows:

The people of the DPRK are indeed the happiest population in the world, blessed with the fatherly leader of the people who is so committed to people’s happiness and their happy laughter even though it means endless efforts and continuous visit to dangerous places in the cold wind.

 The British Group for the Study of the  Juche Idea(BGSJI) and the Korean Friendship Association of the UK( KFAUK ) )issued the following joint statement in support of the press statement of comrade Kim Yo Jong ,vice department director of the Central Committee (CC) of the Workers Party of Korea (WPK) tha was titled "The anachronistic 'denuclearization' idea of the U.S., Japan and the ROK can never affect the position of our state"  that was issued on the 8th of April ;

Recently the US , south Korea and Japan have all been talking about the "denuclearisation " of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK ) ,even being so brazen as to blather about the 'completion of denculearisation ' . This is denounced by comrade Kim Yo Jong in her statement as " nonsensical." and a " nothing but a daydream that can never come true."

As a matter of fact the so-called "complete denuclearisation " of the DPRK touted by the US , south Korea , Japan and others  is just a code word for regime change and the overthrow of the people-centred socialist system in the DPRK.

In her press statement comrade Kim Yo Jong points out that the DPRK's nuclear status is both permanent and legal .It reflects the will of the people and safeguards the security and independence of the DPRK from external threats. As comrade Kim Yo Jong correctly states "We don't care about anyone's denial and recognition and we never change our option."

Those trying to revive the discredited and anachronistic concept of "denuclearisation of the DPRK " are denying the sovereignty of the DPRK and trying to force it to renounce its constitution and its socialist system .

We support the resolute and correct stance of the DPRK as manifested by comrade Kim Yo Jong's statement  . No one should try to interfere in the sovereign rights of the DPRK !

Press Statement of Kim Yo Jong, Vice Department Director of C.C., WPK

Pyongyang, April 9 (KCNA) -- Kim Yo Jong, vice department director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, issued the following press statement "The anachronistic 'denuclearization' idea of the U.S., Japan and the ROK can never affect the position of our state" on April 8:

The diplomatic authorities of the U.S., Japan and the ROK again talked about someone's "complete denuclearization", terming the Democratic People's Republic of Korea's exercise of its sovereign rights a "threat" at the recent NATO foreign ministers' meeting.

It only fully exposed the uneasiness of the U.S., Japan and the ROK in a desperate plight of having to talk about "denuclearization" in chorus although they just know that "denuclearization" of us is nothing but a daydream that can never come true.

Just two months ago, we clarified how stupid the U.S. is in pursuing the goal of "denuclearizing" the DPRK, something utterly impossible and unrealistic in practice and conception.

They still talk about "complete denuclearization," lost in the past daydream that brought them to failure, revealing themselves how anachronistic and absurd their level of political judgment is.

Did they come up with a good way to realize someone's "denuclearization" whenever they had a loud brainstorming session?

If they frantically cry out for "denuclearization", really believing in it, they must be termed nonsensical.

The position of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea as a nuclear weapons state, established along with the existence of its substantial and very strong nuclear deterrent and permanently fixed in its supreme and basic state law according to the unanimous will of all its people, is a result of the inevitable option which accurately reflected the hostile threat from outside and the change in the present and future world security mechanical structure. So it does not change no matter how desperately anyone denies.

We don't care about anyone's denial and recognition and we never change our option.

This is our steadfast choice that can never be reversed by any physical strength or sly artifice.

If anyone openly talks about dismantlement of nuclear weapons before us or seeks to revive the dead concept of "denuclearization" under various pretexts, it just constitutes the most hostile act of denying the sovereignty of the DPRK and forcing it to renounce its constitution and social system. I made it clear once again on this occasion.

The nuclear forces of the DPRK not only play a key role in deterring aggression and threat from outside and defending the sovereignty and security of the state but also make an important contribution to ensuring the regional and global balance of power and strategic security.

The only way for the U.S., Japan and the ROK to defuse their current security concern is to completely refrain from their unilateral attempt to change the status quo and shake the present position of the DPRK and sincerely find a method to avoid head-on conflict.

If the U.S. and its vassal forces continue to insist on anachronistic "denuclearization" while talking about "threat" from someone, it will only give unlimited justness and justification to the advance of the DPRK aspiring after the building of the strongest nuclear force for self-defence.

The DPRK will make steady responsible efforts to thoroughly defend the supreme interests of the state and ensure regional peace and stability, given that the U.S. has gone to extremes in its nuclear threat and its nuclear alliance is getting desperate in its confrontational moves as days go by. -0-

 The  British Group for the Study of the  Juche Idea(BGSJI), the Korean Friendship Association of the UK( KFA UK) )and the UK Preparatory Committee for Celebrating the Day of the Sun today issued a statement on the 113th  anniversary of the birth of the great leader President Kim Il Sung.
  On the forthcoming  15th of April, the Korean people and world progressive people will celebrate the 113th anniversary of the birth of the President which is known as the  Day of the Sun. The respect for the great leader President Kim Il Sung from the world Juche idea followers and Songun idea followers grow deeper with each passing year and indeed each passing day. Celebrating the birth of President Kim Il Sung is act an of practical solidarity with People's Korea.
                                                     
                                             

   We remember the great leader President Kim Il Sung,  on the day of his birth not only as the eternal president and fatherly leader of the Korean people but as an outstanding leader of the international communist movement and a great teacher of the world revolution and the oppressed and toiling peoples of the world.               
    The great leader comrade Kim Il Sung was born into the family of a poor peasant but rose to become a great leader of the people and a world statesman of great renown. He not only liberated Korea from the shackles of Japanese imperialism but turned the country into a formidable power, a socialist power of Juche, which defeated the US when it tried to invade the country.
                         
                                   

   The great leader President Kim Il Sung authored the Juche Idea, the idea that the popular masses are the masters of revolution and construction and have the ability to promote them. Juche is expressed in day-to-day terms by the idea of independence and the idea of self-reliance and self-defence. All the lines and policies of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea were and are profoundly permeated with the idea of independence.

The great leader President Kim Il Sung built a new independent Korea on the ruins of Japanese colonialism, he built a new Juche Korea which was not only free from the domination of imperialism but free from the intervention and pressure of big powers.
    By putting forward the line of armed struggle in the 1930s  the great leader President Kim Il Sung created the basis of the Songun Idea and Songun politics. Today the Songun Idea is the cutting edge of the anti-imperialist struggle for independence.
    The very name of the great leader President Kim Il Sung is associated with militant anti-imperialism as he taught that there should be no compromise with imperialism and that the anti-US, anti-imperialist struggle should be intensified.

                                     
                                                 

                                                   

               

  The great leader President Kim Il Sung was the benevolent father of the people who built a socialist state where the masses are the masters of everything. He built a socialist paradise in which there is full employment, free medical care, free education, even free housing and no taxation.              

              The achievements of the great leader President Kim Il Sung are celebrated not only by the Korean people but the revolutionary and progressive peoples throughout the world. The four corners of the globe reverberate with praise for the great leader President Kim Il Sung.

    Today the legacy of the great leader President Kim Il Sung,  is precisely the DPRK, the Juche Idea and Korean-style, people-centred socialism. This legacy is defended and carried forward by the dear respected Marshal Kim Jong Un who follows the road of independence, Songun and socialism holding high the bright red banner of Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism and self-reliance. Under the leadership of respected Marshal Kim Jong Un , the Korean people are advancing towards higher goals under the banner of self-reliance.

              We join with the world's progressive people including the Juche Idea,  and true friends of People's Korea throughout the whole world in saluting the 113th anniversary of the great leader President Kim Il Sung!

 The British Group for the Study of the  Juche Idea(BGSJI) and the Korean Friendship Association of the UK( KFAUK ) )issued the following joint statement on the occasion of the 32nd anniversary of the election of the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il as the chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK.
     

Comrade Kim Jong Il was elected as chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK , the highest office of state in the DPRK, on the 9th of April This was a  truly momentous event  as it marked the succession to the Juche revolutionary cause .The election as Chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK  was a profound manifestation of the sublime respect and trust of the Korean people in the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il . It fully reflected the fact that the great  leader comrade Kim Jong Il was the successor to the Songun revolutionary cause pioneered by the great leader comrade Kim Il Sung.
   

Throughout the period of his chairmanship of the National Defence Commission comrade Kim Jong Il wisely carried forward the cause of Juche -orientated defence building .He wisely administered Songun politics in order to cope with the US imperialists attempts to stifle Korean-style socialism by force.
   

 During  the 18 years that he was chairman of the NDC the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il steered the DPRK through the difficult period of the 'arduous march' caused by the imperialist's attempts to stifle the DPRK and by recurrent natural disasters to a shining victory. His leadership also ensured the DPRK won victory in the 'war without gunshots' against the US imperialists facing down their attempts to subdue the DPRK through the so-called 'nuclear crisis'. Thanks to his leadership the DPRK has emerged as a strategic state.
   

Thanks to the leadership of the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il and Songun politics a breakthrough was made in the struggle for independent reunification in the form of the June 15 north-south joint declaration which heralded a new era.
    

The great leader comrade Kim Jong Il for his great exploits as the chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK has been immortalised as the Eternal Chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK. We Juche Idea and Songun idea followers remember the great

 The British Group for the Study of the  Juche Idea(BGSJI) , the  Korean Friendship Association of the UK( KFA UK) ,  and UK Preparatory Committee for Celebrating the Day of the Sun  today issued a joint statement on the occasion of the 33rd anniversary of the ward of the title of Generalissimo to the great leader President KIM IL SUNG;
Soon  it will be the 33rd anniversary of the award of the title of Generalissimo to the great leader President KIM IL SUNG which was a manifestation  of the deep respect of the Korean people. 
  The award of the title of Generalissimo to the great leader President KIM IL SUNG  was a reflection of the immortal exploits he performed for  the historic cause of Korea's liberation, and also leading the Fatherland Liberation War to victory and developing People's  Korea   They are paying high respect to the President who brought the rebirth to the Korean nation and provided it with  freedom and independence . President KIM IL SUNG  smashed all moves of the U.S. imperialists to ignite a war against the DPRK and defended peace on the Korean peninsula during socialist construction.
  The title also reflects the fact that the great leader President KIM IL SUNG is the father of the Songun revolution.
    The DPRK has developed into an invincible fortress of socialism and Songun thanks to the peerlessly great men of Mt. Paektu. The cause of the great leader generalissimo KIM IL SUNG is today carried forward by dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN.

Report of the April Meeting of the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea and Korean Friendship Association of the UK.

                                                        

On the 5th of April the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea and Korean Friendship Association UK held a meeting, at

1400 hours in central London, to mark the 113th anniversary of the birth of President KIM IL SUNG and to explain the significance of the Juche Idea .The meeting was attended by members of the British Group for the Study of the Juche idea  and KFA UK as well as by members of the academic community , the New Communist Party and others .

Dr Dermot Hudson introduced the meeting saying that “In today ‘s troubled world , one country stands out as a beacon , a true fortress of socialism and independence; the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea or People’s Korea “  He said that the DPRK’s achievements are associated with President KIM IL SUNG and the Juche Idea 

Messages of greetings were received from KFA UK Organisation Secretary  Alan Bolon  , from a director of the European Regional Society for the Study of the Juche Idea , from the People’s Korea  Initiative of Poland ,from the secretary general of the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea and KFA Scotland .

The secretary general of the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea in his message said “The April 5th seminar of the Juche Idea Study Group can be considered a vital step forward in our activities with the inclusion of speakers from the academic sphere as well as political activists. A serious and consistent study of the Juche Idea is needed even when global society and the social-political situation here in Britain face so many existential issues. Any meeting to discuss the Juche Idea or promote DPRK solidarity work is a significant victory over the forces of reaction.”

The head of KFA Scotland in their message wrote “I wish you great success in your presentations and discussions, which

shall continue the spread of the Juche philosophy of self-reliance

and independence in Britain, lifting the human and class consciousness of those of us living here. 

In Britain, our dependence on foreign sources of energy and goods leaves us incredibly vulnerable to insecurity due to fluctuations in price and availability. The ruling bourgeoisie have destroyed our industry, making us entirely dependent on others, like children.

Juche teaches us that man is the master of his destiny and has the power to adapt his environment to serve his needs. In Britain, we workers have no control over our destiny. We are blowing in the winds of imperialism, destitution, to war, and depopulation.”

Dr Dermot Hudson KFA UK Chairman and Chairman of the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea in his keynote presentation said “As we mark the 113th anniversary of the birth of the great leader President KIM IL SUNG, we think deeply about his achievements in leading the Korean revolution to victory and carrying out socialist construction  . Undoubtedly , one of his greatest achievements was the creation of the Juche Idea .

  Today the Tower of the Juche Idea stands tall and proud on the banks of the River Taedong . Juche is the guiding ideology of People’s Korea and is known all over the world “ and he concluded that “Today’s People’s Korea is the proud outcome of the leadership of President KIM IL SUNG and the application of the Juche idea .

We will never forget the achievements of President KIM IL SUNG in authoring the Juche Idea.”

Andy Brooks, general secretary of the New Communist Party and editor of the New Worker (and a KFA UK member ) in his presentation recalled the great achievements of President KIM IL SUNG and his wisdom . He also said it was wrong to equate Juche with nationalism . He pointed that it is a falsehood to say Juche is fascism , if this was true then the ruling class would adopt Juche instead of denouncing and demonizing it .

A senior university lecturer from a British university gave a presentation on the theme of “ Independence, Creativity, Mastery: Juche as Ideology and Theory in Education”. The speaker said that there are many misconceptions and misunderstandings about Juche . Generally in Western countries ideology  is seen as negative .He pointed out that Juche represents “a form of “psychological decolonization”, according to an overseas Korean academic Hannah Kim.  The DPRK had successfully decolonised and carried out a socialist revolution .However many studies of decolonalisation in the West have excluded the experience of the DPRK .The speaker pointed out that because of its profoundly liberating role , the Juche idea was studied in the countries of the global south , particularly by intellectuals and educationalists . An example of a country where the Juche idea was applied in education was the Democratic Republic of Madagascar( a much underrated and ignored African socialist country )  under President  Didier Ratsiraka. 

There followed lively discussion on the 3 presentations . Questions included the issue of DPRK-US relations , visiting the DPRK and other subjects . The need to attract university students to KFA and Juche was stressed.

Dr Hudson also made short presentations on the 13th anniversary of the supreme leadership of respected Marshal KIM JONG UN and the 93rd anniversary of the foundation of the Korean People’s Revolutionary Army .

A message to respected Marshal KIM JONG UN was adopted .

Literature from the DPRK as well as publications of KFA UK and the British Group For the Study of the Juche Idea was displayed.

Light refreshments were served.

The meeting concluded at 1700 hours.
