About the abuse of characters from the animated series “Squirrels and Hedgehogs” from the SEK animation studio from the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, by a group called “Furries”.

My opinion concerns the issue of an animation from the DPRK

This cartoon “Squirrel and Hedgehog” was created by the SEK animation studio from the DPRK, for citizens, young and old, to convey values and norms, morals and loyalty. A minority who call themselves “Furries” abuse these characters for their sick ideas and fantasies.

I started watching the series “Squirrels and Hedgehogs” and didn't suspect anything bad until I started searching for some information about it on Google. I myself am a good cartoon connoisseur and have always enjoyed watching cartoons since I was a child. I only got to know “Squirrels and Hedgehogs” through the KFA. I never thought anything bad of watching a cartoon with anthropomorphic animals, why should I think anything bad about it anyway?

Many topics and content can be presented much more clearly if, for example, incorporates a hard-working squirrel into the cartoon as a role model character. As such, using animals as characters is much more helpful in associating certain actions and portraying morals than using normal people as actors or characters. The viewer associates a certain stereotype with each animal species, per example Fox=sneaky. Wolf=dangerous. Squirrel=hardworking etc.

For example, a small child in the city park sees a squirrel collecting nuts and hiding them for the winter. The child asks his parents, who then explain: “A squirrel is very thrifty and hardworking, it is always working and preparing for worse times.”

Now that this logic has been clarified, I come to the main reason for my Statement. People who have not understood this logic, such as these so-called “Furries”. People who consume a cartoon with animal characters and dream up sick and disturbing fantasies about it. People who suffer from disordered sexual preference and are sexually attracted to cartoon animals.

I don't need to explain further that this sort of thing is sick in all ways. These “Furries” should seek therapeutic treatment. When I started my research on Google on February 28, 2024, I found frightening images from USA, South Korean and German forums in which the characters of “Squirrel and Hedgehog” were traced, also called “fanart”. The animal characters are depicted naked or with exaggeratedly enlarged genitals and are shown in various sexual positions.

However, during my research, I was wondering how a minority called “Furries” from Germany even found out about this cartoon from the DPRK?

When I clicked on the name of the creator of this forum post, I saw that they were from South Korea. This creator even has his own website where several articles and pictures from this cartoon and other animated series and films are published. On his main page I was able to read several statements from him regarding the relationship between South Korea and the DPRK. He explained that he happened to see this cartoon "Squirrel and Hedgehog" from the DPRK and he hopes that soon South Korea and the DPRK will get along better so that several such cartoons and films can be shared with each other. Since the creator is probably also in “Furrie Discord groups”, which are even linked in these forums, I came to the conclusion that the Furrie community probably exchanges ideas on various platforms (Discord, Telegram, etc.) and thus their sick fantasies find confirmation from “within their own people”. That explains a lot about how a cartoon like “Squirrels and Hedgehog” from the DPRK ended up on a German furry forum. These pathological fanatics are already so strongly connected.

Without shame or remorse, these characters, lovingly created by their artists and creators to embody morals and values, were shamefully mutilated and abused by these “Furries”. In my opinion, there should be stricter copyright regulations that prohibit the creation of perverted-sexual “fanart” and that these sick artists should be caught and punished severely. It is best to give these creatures a long therapeutic treatment.

This statement shows how far imperialist decadence has progressed. People who are attracted to cartoon animals are already so much tolerated that they are allowed to hold events where such people come together, dressed as animals, to celebrate decadent orgies under the influence of drugs. In many cases they have destroyed the hotel or the festival grounds and subsequently refuse to take responsibility for it. In the Netherlands and Germany, “furries” dressed as colourful animals, walk through the city centre, on all fours, and let small children pet them. Unfortunately, many people don't realise how dangerous and decadent this “furrie scene” is. These “Furries” are mostly over 30, unemployed, men who sit in front of the computer all day and create or “abuse” “fan art” of cartoon animals. Something like that shouldn't be practised openly in society. It influences the perception of minors and leads to complete, pathological, degenerate, behaviour.
