An online seminar to mark the 73rd anniversary of the foundation of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea was held at 1630 hours on the 8th of September.

Participating in the seminar were members of the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea, the Korean Friendship Association of the UK and Association for the Study of Songun Politics UK from London , Staffordshire, the Midlands ,and the West of England . An international guest from Canada participated as well . The meeting received a short message of greeting from a KFA UK member in Hong Kong.

Dr Dermot Hudson said that soon it will be the 73rd anniversary of the foundation of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea by the great leader comrade KIM IL SUNG .  Moreover Dr Hudson explained that ‘  “For the people of the DPRK its foundation meant that people took power in their own hands and started to build a new people’s democracy and the first steps towards a new socialist society . The foundation of the DPRK basically declared the illegality of the south Korean puppet regime and provided a powerful base for the reunification of Korea .

The foundation of the DPRK was a powerful inspiration to the oppressed peoples  of the world ,groaning under imperialist oppression, in their struggle for independence and national liberation. It was also a great inspiration to the international proletariat advancing towards socialism .

The DPRK was founded one year before the People’s Republic of China was founded . In 1948 in Asia some countries had not gained independence , for example Malaysia , Laos and Cambodia . Others such as the Philippines were ruled by reactionary puppet regimes . India had on paper gained independence but in reality still had a lot of British influence and had reactionary social structures . This puts into context the massive achievement that founding the DPRK represented

KFA UK Organisation Secretary and head of KFA West of England Alan Bolon said that “Since the beginning of the foundations of DPRK history of the country, since its founding marks the next milestones in building a strong and independent state of people's democracy. The Korean movement - 'Chollima' after the Korean War in 1956 and late 1990s for 'Second Chollima Movement' rapidly laid the foundations for the current economic power of the DPRK. The speed, enthusiasm and efficiency of the popular masses in building a democratic and fully socialist state had no equal in the world history of social development. The social and economic achievements of DPRK over the decades since Peoples Korea was founded are impressive. Free health service with extensive social care, free accommodation and no taxes are a few from a long list to make DPRK a country of real socialism, socialist paradise with a social system that is friendly to people and focused on their needs, and the continuous improvement of their living conditions in everything.

DPRK is a country that cares about its values and achievements. This is because, unfortunately, there are many enemies. The enemies have been since DPRK was founded and even before.”.

Staffordshire KFA UK branch brought greetings to the meeting saying as follows ; Greetings to all members and supporters on the occasion of the 73rd anniversary of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea!! Konghwagukchang-guk-ging-omil, manse, manse, manse!

In the discussion that followed Dr Dermot Hudson said that the DPRK is a totally independent state and is not a creation of another country . Alan Bolon said that early on in the days of the anti-Japanese struggle . President KIM IL SUNG declined an offer to study in Moscow .

A message to dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN was adopted .

Meeting concluded at 17.35 hours .
