Contribution of Adriano Lima of the Brazilian Centre for the Study of Songun Politics to the online meeting to remember President KIM IL SUNG 07.08.2021

Dear comrades, good afternoon.

My name is Adriano Lima, a member of the Communist Party of Brazil and Center of Studies of Songun Policy – Brazil (CEPS-BR). First of all, I would like to apologize for my English. I'm not as fluent and can't do much more than read writing and reading this letter, but I'm grateful for the opportunity to train in the language and speak on such an important subject as President Kim Il Sung.

When it comes to socialism, we think of Marx, Engels, Lenin, Stalin, Mao, Fidel, Che Guevara and Ho Chi Minh. They really are amazing and outstanding thinkers and revolutionaries in the history of true freedom, but we can never leave out of that list the great comrade Kim Il Sung, who won two wars against two giant imperialist powers in less than 10 years. The first victory was in 1945, against Japan, when he led the army of peasants and workers against the brutal Japanese imperialist colony, liberating his country and bringing freedom back to the home of his people. The second was in 1953, in the Korean War, when the Korean People's Army, which was now the official national defense army, defeated the United States, preventing them from taking the peninsula.

In Brazil, currently, the neo-fascist and neoliberal wave that haunts the world are represented by Jair Bolsonaro, responsible for half a million deaths in the pandemic. As we cry for the dead and suffer one of the worst unemployment crises and industrial setbacks in history in a country rich in natural resources, the DPRK, which faces tough geographic problems and criminal economic blockades, continues to invest heavily in industry and technology, providing decent jobs to its entire population and guaranteeing zero cases of COVID in the country.

This is primarily due to the Korean people's historic commitment to their own freedom. Secondly, the Juche philosophy, developed and implemented by comrade Kim Il Sung, rigorously practiced until today. So, comrades, talking about Kim Il Sung is talking about freedom and happiness: two themes that can never be forgotten when it comes to national sovereignty.

A fraternal hug,

Adriano Lima
