On the 9th anniversary of the demise of the Great Leader Kim Jong Il- CENTRO DE ESTUDOS DA IDEIA JUCHE - BRASIL -Juche Idea Study Centre of Brazil

On the 9th anniversary of the demise of the Great Leader Kim Jong Il

First, I would like to thank Comrade M. Jahangir Khan, President of the International Central Committee for Songun Study, for the invitation to participate in this important seminar. Our Brazilian Centre for the Study of the Juche Idea supports the activities of the International Central Committee for Songun Study and recognizes the fundamental role that this organization has been playing in promoting the study of the Juche Idea and Songun Politics, as well as in the work of solidarity with the DPRK and other anti-imperialist countries.

On the occasion of the 9th anniversary of the demise of the Great Leader Kim Jong Il, the international anti-imperialist movement recalls its brilliant revolutionary exploits in directing the struggle of the Korean people in the construction of socialism and in the struggle for the independence of the peoples masses.

Comrade Kim Jong Il, from a very young age, engaged in socialist construction in his country, always following and strongly defending the ideas of Kim Il Sung. Comrade Kim Jong Il systematized the Juche Idea, providing the world with a revolutionary ideology that gave answers to the concrete problems of the Korean revolution and the new era in which it began.

Thanks to Comrade Kim Jong Il, the Workers Party of Korea, firmly adhering to the Juche Idea, strengthened its militant unit as a Kimilsunist Party. In June 1964, Kim Jong Il stated that: "What matters in the work and activities of our Party is to establish strictly in all its ranks the ideological system of the Leader".

When Comrade Kim Jong Il began his work on the Party Central Committee, the international communist movement and revolutionary movement was going through a very delicate period, due to the fractional and capitulating activities of contemporary revisionists. Comrade Kim Jong Il was able to analyze this complex situation and formulate correct political guidelines that strengthened the revolutionary character of the Workers Party of Korea, thus dismantling revisionist groups and dogmatic flatterers of the great powers. Kim Jong Il made decisive ideological contributions, explaining the content and historical development of the preceding ideology of the working class, and how kimilsunism represented a new ideology, which inherited the revolutionary principles of the preceding ideologies, while being a new and original theory, based on the Juche idea. This correct understanding was fundamental to demarcate the field with contemporary revisionists and dogmatic "left" and thus establish the Party's unique ideology system.

Kim Jong Il also made invaluable contributions in the field of national defense, to strengthen the defensive power of the socialist homeland and thus strengthen socialism against imperialist maneuvers, which always seek to launch new wars of aggression.

Kim Jong Il led a profound revolution in the field of art and literature, thus promoting an artistic and literary revival of a socialist character; innumerable new books, films, paintings and architectonic works have emerged, brilliantly reflecting the character of the new era where the popular masses own society.

The brilliant victories and achievements of the Korean people today are the direct product of a whole legacy left by revolutionary leaders Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il. Currently, under the leadership of Comrade Kim Jong Un, the Workers Party of Korea is leading the Korean people in their struggle to build and consolidate socialism centered on the masses of the people. We are sure that the path taken by the Workers Party of Korea is correct, and reflects the demands of the popular masses in their struggle for national and social independence. Also in the future, the Workers Party of Korea will continue to raise the flag of Kimilsunism-Kimjongilism aloud, defending the red flag of socialism, marching together with all the peoples of the world fighting for their liberation.
