Founding Anniversary of KCU Marked in DPRK

Pyongyang, June 7 (KCNA) -- Schoolchildren in the DPRK significantly celebrated the 78th founding anniversary of the Korean Children's Union (KCU).

They paid floral tribute to the statues of Generalissimos Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il, the great leaders, cross the country.

Joint meetings, KCU sessions, meetings of juvenile activists exemplary in displaying traits and stages of pride of KCU members took place at the youth league committees of provinces, cities and counties and the organizations of the children's union of schools.

Schoolchildren's performances, dancing parties and sports and amusement games were staged across the country, revving up the atmosphere of the holiday.

Senior officials of the Party and power organs of provinces, cities and counties congratulated the KCU members on celebrating the holiday. -0-
